Does anyone know that the tourqe spec is for arp rod bolts in groden rods?

Short trips my '72 GMC 1/2 ton. Long trips my buddies 12 valve cummins(1200 ft/lbs).

Thats how I feel. I will probably never swap a v8 into my talon. I'm in the process of swapping a 450hp 351w into my FC. After the 2nd time I toasted apex seals I was done. The engine was cheap. In the end people build cars for themselves.

How people drive up here in the winter just amazes me....My wife just drove my AWD with snow tire on in the snow for the first time last week...Once I get her jetta running looks like she wants to get a 1g....

As for the vacuum lines are there any besides the usual that I should not remove? I don't mine a cel. The previous owner removed the secondary air injection pump, would that cause a problem?

Ok sounds good I will try to get one ordered to night.. And in the mean time I'm going to try and see if there is anymore vacuum leaks hiding. Would this cable work...

Ugh I have no money. I have reset the battery. Only thing that has been recently was I installed a boost gauge. I assume its a valet key. It wont lock the trunk and gas release but it opens the door and starts the car. And the code reader, what I dont get is why it worked one time and not...

Thanks for the input. I have not done a fuel pressure test(I dont have a tester) Vacuum lines are good. I have mac code reader but cant connect to the ecu. Pulling codes from the car works sometimes. As for spare keys or fobs all I have is a valet key. Its the only key that came with the car...

Dash lights are on.

Its turns over and fires like normal and its on for about 1 sec then dies. If I give it gas its revs up for that one sec then dies..

The cars a 2001 VW jetta with a 1.8t(she had it before she new me...working on getting her to sell it for a 2g). It started to have some problems a few months back. Sometimes when you went to start it you had to rev it a little bit or it would die. We replaced the battery and it stopped doing...

I to bring back a thread from the dead. But I just went to gap std rings in and the first ring were all .016 and the second ring were .025. I know that is in spec but is that going to make it loose compression or smoke?...are the gaps different for a 7 bolt?

I would wanna out the engine out of the 1g in a 2g. Fresh 6bolt with lots of goodies. The other thing is that if I flat out sell the gs. I have a feeling the money wont be able to be saved for a gsx probably end up paying a bill or something...

I am just trying to decide if I want to sell/trade my gs(blah it was cheap) for a 2g AWD shell and then pull my fresh 6 bolt out of my 1g and part out the rest. My wife says we have to many cars for being in town('01 jetta 1.8t, 96 GS, 90 TSI AWD, '88 RX7 with a 351w v8, and a lifted '72 GMC...

In my '96GS the cluch finaly went out. I has a aftermarket modular clutch setup in it that is alen bolted together. Anyone know where I can find just the disc?

Well I have had my HF kit sitting in its box for a couple months, I was board, and my wife left her jetta at home. And lets say I need some practice. I also noticed that it scratched easy. I can never seem to find a spot to hook the part so I don't loose any powder.Missed it

When you tapped it the first time what size tap did you use? I you tapped it with different pitch.
