stock 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T For sale!!!!I am selling my car because I want a different one. I love this car and have only had it about a 1 year and a half. The car has a newly rebuilt transmission, the timing belt and water pump were replaced at 80 k miles and I have installed ARP...
Aspen, Basalt or Snomass is really nice but is REALLY expensive. I lived there until they kicked me out cause i was too poor. ITs really a great spot to vacation and experence Colorado. Skiing, snowboarding, shopping ( for the wifey ), great sceanery and almost like a different world.
what is the Limit of a 190 lph fuel pump? How much HP will sustain? WIthout FPR?I have a 2g w/ b16g, 272/272 cams, GReddy FMIC, intake, 660's SAFC, 190 fuel pump, full exhaust, all IC piipes, BOV, etc. IS it maxed out with no FPR?
Good numbers on the Small16g, im not counting out anything in the 16g family. Good nuimbers in that mirage, man. A buddy down here in San Diego has a Mirage 4g63 with a HUGE PTE turbo. Thing is an animal.SoCAliEclipse:

Tailpipe sniffer for AFR.
Thanks for the tips, guys. I thought it was to lean anyway, so i just put my AFC setting back to a little leaner than base line, or around 310 FWHP. I really need to log it though now, cause i just dont feel right driving it around knowing that something is not perfect.
I think thats a goal that can be realized. WIll you be dyno'ing on 93 octane? It looks like we have the same MBC from RRE ;) I'm telling you dude, my cams made a HUGE difference.
19 -20 psi. And that is not really that accurate because i was spiking and bleeding all over the place, but i did an on the spot average, and concluded that i was running between 19 and 20, spiking to 21.
i was not using a logger at the time, and a werid thing is seeimg to plauge me: at optimal Dyno tuning, 12.5 afr, forth gear on the freeway at WOT seems to bogging, or timing is pulling. Would i just have to use a pocketlogger to check that out? Why would it be doing this any way?
I dyno'ed at Pann auto in San Diego on saturday and was surprised with my results, because i felt for the last couple of months my car has been acting up, i.e blown head gasket, blown tranny blah blah blah..... (all my fault), and i just wanted to really get some solid numbers out of the car. I...
I dont know if this will help, or if you already checked this but My wastegate arm actuator came off one time and it was too dark for me to see that it was a simple problem like that . I couldnt build past 0 either. The next day I put it back on and everything was fine

amen to that brother. I own a 97 GST, and i have gone through broken trannies, turbo swaps, belt changes, little gremlins, and my girlfriend has been there giving me rides the whole time. I even get to drive her pimp little celica (not pimp, its all girlie) but whatever works.Regarding the...
Manny, You know Belmont is just for show. People with blinky lights and the like. Not to mention the police hang out on the other side of the parking lot just waiting to bust somebody for someting. The last time i was there, a kid was getting hasseled by a police officer just for having his hood...
I own a 1997 Eclipse GS-T and i am considering getting DSMlinkWHen considering DSMlink and a FWD car, do i have to use a 95 ECU designed for a GST? Or is it possible to use ANY 95 eprom ECU (GSX OR GST).anybody with DSMlink lemme know!
I am running a Road Race Engineering Manual boost controller. That may be my problem now that you mention it. I never really thought of that being the problem. I do in fact have a profec B waiting to go in. All my supprot mods are pretty strong so that may be the weak link.
Dude, you know that it will not pull HARD all the way to red line. ported and/ or clipped like it does in the mid range no matter waht you say, or what your "butt dyno" tells you.The reason it will pull harder at low to midrange is because, even if the big16g is ported and clipped, its still...
:dsm: I just installed a big16g onto my 97 GST about 4 days ago, its not fully tuned, but i think taht i have a good idea of what it can do.Pros:
really good low to mid range power. Even clipped 15 degrees, its still spools really fast, and that considering that i have the big greddy FMIC...
I was there at the race, his driving wasn't too poor as i witnessed it. Im not too sure on my opinion about the fp30, because going for rides in it (launching, freeways, etc.) it pulls like a mofo. I guess we'll have to see once he builds his bottom end. -Terren
The difference between a 16g and a big 16g is the size of the wheel. The compressor housing is the same size, but with the different, bigger wheel on the b16g it creates more flow.check out http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclturbos.htm
its a link to what you need to know.
Thats tite:D the cool thing about making "DSM"'s or cars in general for that matter is the fact that you can take any path you want and add any extra doo dad. you are about due for a boost gauge anyway, so an avc-r is perfect, i was just thinking simple.
im using a manual boost contrller but i...
I think either one would do the trick, but keep in mind that an Electronic Boost controller will be a lot more expensive. There are a few EBC that are good. Blitz makes one so does greddy. the range from 300- 450 bucks. where the manual couts no more than 90$ at MOST!!!!
dude, get a manual...
You sould see boost creep. i had the same set up a while back, and i experienced boost creep/ spike. The boost gauge read 17 psi spike and held at 13-14. it was kind of inconsistant though. Just call up RRE or another company and get a manual boost controller and set yer boost to 14-15 psi max...
HI, i think the problem is related to you venting straight to the atmosphere. I think the MAS is not getting the readings fronm the BOV emission and the fuel mixture gets rich! The same thing happens to me and i have an exhaust leak. it sounds nasty and i get loud *BANGS!* sometimes.
I HATE BIG SPOILERS!!!! unless they serve an aerodynamic function (i.e tested in a real wind tunnel and adjusted) but the thing about having your own car allows you to make your own decisions to make "you" happy. "trust the force, Luke"
probably a stupid question only requiring a simple yes or no answer. do you need adjustable cam gears when you get new cams after you bought an unpgraded turbo (big16g)
i could see users of the greddy type s running into a problem with venting to the atmosphere running a stock mas. If you are running the type s with the dump tube disconnected, and build a considerable amount of boost the RPM's drop really fast below 1 grand and the car wants to die. i have...

People dont know sh!t!
all the general public know, is that "honda's run forever, man! id never drive anything else!"
whatever.
i think that is a really good idea to be doing research on the subject. GS-T and GS-X are made with strong internals.

i have had the same problem when starting my gst. i think it may be the starter . i just replaced the v belts and timing belt and that did not resolve the issue. im not worried. You may want to check to see it you have any turbine damage (inside the turbo= little fan thingy) or shaft...
