yeah cause some ass stole my old one, i need a new one, i havent been able to find a full piller for 2 guages in 60mm, just 52. i know i have seen one in carbon fiber... but where, please help (full piller, bottom to top)
I just read the adfx thread, and there is yet another intake manifold. Now considering that each of these costs 5 to 600 clams, no member is gonna compare them so i thought if we all made a petition thread, we could send it off to some magazines like scc and what not and they might do it.So...
Its a long story, but a friend and i may swich our dashes... what will be involved, is it just alot of unbolting and rembering fasteners? how long should it take?

well we all are fond of the love bump... but the fact is i would rather not have it and have a symetrical hood a little higher over all.... cause i want to put a small naca duct where the intake is and to do it with a car with a bump... well it woudl look odd
thanks alot man, ill defintly read through those posts, im so glad you have almost an identical set up and im running much less pressure, so if i get those temps down i can kick up the boost a little. I have always thought that the stock filter location is silly. Thanks.
i paid like 50 i think, well we shall see how it feels after some initial driving, i may beable to change the orientation but at this point a feel like not working on my car for a while.Tarantula, thanks for the compliments i spent so long just grinding and when i thought i was done i went...
i think i dsmlink can log intake temp. also im running 93, yeah ill do some more logs soon and if i have knock ill retard my initial timign settings, like the dsmlink tech article.
i did that because that pipe is pretty much touching my fan, i also put some heat shield tape on the fan. the reason i didnt wrap everything was because i heard its not a good idea to wrap aluminized cause it will promote faster rusting. in this case i chosse the lesser of two evils.
OH man, i wish i knew that erlier... uhg changeing the orientation is almost imposible where i put it. so meby ill look into it next oil change. Man... meaby ill run a vac onto a line positioned above the top of the cooler so that i can take all the air out or something. Well ill figure it out...
Here are a few more pictures of the oil stuff. Thanks for the pointers on the wrap. Ill try to get a few more shots of the finished install tommow. Also what should Oil temps be around?
its relativly tight, it may look loose but its tight in most places, it does seem to contain the heat. the small section on the wastegate ruturn tube is very tight, which is good cause it sits RIGHT near the fan
This was my first "good" log with dsmlink, I dont know if these are the data points that are best to log, ill probly take out coolant in the future but i just wanted to be safe the first time around. Is the knock acceptable? I have stock 450s, and stock IC for now so is there any tuning i can...
WOW, happy day. Finaly after a few weeks have I gotten all of my stuff installed, which Includeds:FP Evo3 16g
Custom Oil system with large cooler, huge filter, thermostat and AN lines.
DSMLink V2
RNR o2 Elminiator downpipe.
Highflow cat
and some other small bits.It seems to work...
ok i will have to update my profile, i wasnt gonna untill i finished the install, but it looks like now is the time.well the only reason i thought fmic and injectors would help eleviate creep was that i would be able to run a higher boost, and thus not creep like canadiantsi was talking...
I have read that the evo16g will creep a bit when running low boost. now im unclear that if the boost is raised the turbo will sustain a higher boost?I ask this because I currently have stock injectors an intercooler, and im unsure how much boost to run. I would like to run the most boost...
Yeah you are right. Don't alot of people with turbo Grand national with autos run without bovs? just EASE off the throttle. but no, scrach that... dont get any ideas original poster.
i have an auto and the same turbo... it is the same. i made my own water lines with an stuff, but you can swap the stock hard lines and run rubber line if you want.
oh my GOD, i dont want to sound like a jerk, but you are STUPID. you need to educate yourself about how turbos work and how bovs interact with them.1) PUT the bov Back on!!!2) The sound that "sounds cool" is compressor surge. its when the air hits the closed throttle plate, backs up and...
i heard that yo have to like preheat the whole thing to around 300 then weld, whatever, im not gonna bother with that, im glad there has been some positive feedback on brass.
abs isnt the best idea, you realy should use pvc and its glue, and for god sakes let it dry full day, i got trigger happy one day and endded up shooting the barrel threw the rest of the cannon like 20 yards.
that is discoloration of the metal itself. i personly think it looks cool. but you cant just clean it off. you would have to use alike a metal brush alot then repolish it, then it will discolor again from the heat. as bling as it is you should wrap or ceramic coat them. they actualy have a high...
yeah no welding on cast, i guess ill have to use the brass thing, do you guys know of any online places to get steel fittings like that, i searched around but could sorce any.on rare ocatisons teh car will see high egts around 800 so that is...800 degree Celsius = 1472 degree Fahrenheit...
i was reading through the manual for my dsmlink, and they want a drivetrain loss number for thier dyno calculations. how can one acuratly calculate the loss in an auto awd dsm? cause usualy peopl just say 20% but that is not accurate.
As i went to retighten my greddy egt probe, the whole thing just stripped out the hole in the manifold. this pisses me off, but all i can think to do is drill out the hole and thread for 1/4npt then put a brass 1/4 x 1/8 npt bushing in and then the sendor mount. Im worryed that the extreme heat...
So i decided to look at my profile here, and read some of the very early threads i posted, about 2 years ago. It was funny, i made all the classic noob remarks. I wanted to
Vent my BOV
Get a tube header off the bat.
Get a Big ass wing.Post some of your early regretible remarks, show how...
Army Navy guys. They cost so much cause they were originaly designed for use on top notch military spec applications. Those guys are the crem de la crem. your paying for a specification that the fitting is super reliable and won't hardly ever fail. thats why i use them in a few aplications on my...

my first air cannon was pretty slick, only about 5 feet long cause the barrel was mostly inside the pressure chamber. it used a rubber diafram for operation. that thing was insane, we fired cloriene pelets through inch ply wood, and it just made a perfect hole. firing floresent tubes are awsome...
^^^word, those bodies are made to be replaced, cause often horible things will happen, on the other hand, there are lots of bodies of cars in other types of racing that are carbon for the purpose of savign wieght, it is also super strong. and pre-preg carbon (dry) is glorious.
lol, now here is a thread i can jive with. before dsms poetatoe cannons and similar shit dominated my life. the safest and most powerful are air cannons, i have made two of those. they arnt much mor complicated and can #### shit up. pm me for more details, ill tell you everything you want to knwo
oh man we did the funnyest shit to my roomate at school. one night he was fast asslep and we were up late so we found like a glove or bag or somthing, filled it with shampoo and two doughnut holes so it felt like a nut sack, then put it on a poll and wacked it against the roomates face, it was...
one perhaps intersting thing would be the posibilty of a better transmission with the evo3 engine... i dont know how they all swap around but who knows. i know some place makes a bad ass dog box for old evos.
