I looked over the 2g eclipse PDF file, but I was wondering if anyone had any specific tricks short of complete disassembly to get the sunroof guides to align. One of the rails is about an inch in front of the other, so that the roof never completely closes or opens all the way because one...
Does anybody know if there are differences between the RM 2g AWD and FWD rear (besides thickness)? Like if you could mount the AWD on the FWD? Or are they geometrically differerent and would not fit.BTW, the RRE 25mm AWD rear one doesn't fit a FWD.-Joe
From my rough measurements, you get about 2.75in of speaker mounting depth before you hit the wheel well. The stock speakers are about 2.5in or so. Most 6x9 are about 3in+, I got some blaupunkt shallow mounts that are 2.44 inches that work great. (I might post some pics up soon).I am...
Yepp, you need palm desktop software (for windows). Its free:http://www.palm.com/us/software/desktop/After you install it an initiate a hotsync, it'll download the files into your PC.
6-bolts dont really "prevent" it, they just happen to walk less then their 7-bolt counterparts.Certain things have been known to contribute, especially things that place additional pressure on the thrust bearings like an improperly adjusted clutch, super-heavy clutch, driving around with the...
You REALLY want projector housing if you are going to run HID. I was running them in stock housing for a while - the light disperation is very scattered, and the glare would often cause drivers to high-beam me as I passed them (due to their being annoyed).Aftering putting them in projector...
Found a couple of conflicting replies for 1g sizing (Again, I have a 2g so the battery compartment size and tie-down fit is probably different):Some people are recommending the smaller sizes for the 1g:

I have the Red top. As you can see from the picture below, the red top has significantly more cranking amps:The yellow top is for deep-cycling: if you're constantly draining it to empty, with lots of accessories, then this battery will last longer for that purpose (at the expense of...
I had very similar symptoms to yours. (Including voltage okay at idle), but voltage would fluctuate under load. Finally one day the car actually would die under idle, it would only stay charged if i kept the RPM over 3500 (after jumpstarting it)- i had a fun time driving home through stop...
I got lucky and got my SSR's (16x7.5) for $259 closeout from the well-known wheel/tire website. They dont have that seem to have that size anymore. I see the same size for $330 (17's for $370) off a certain miata site...(name not posted due to vendor listing policy - try searching the web)
Totally worth the money, especially if you are draining yours from lots of high-output accessories. If you live in cold climate, you probably want the red top for the higher cold cranking amp rating.
Perhaps at higher RPM you are getting a lot of backpressure at some point due to exhaust restrictions which is causing the exhaust turbine to not realize its full potential. Is your 16g ported or clipped or stock? Also, what kind of O2 housing are you running? Also, how does your boost behave...
It'll throw an engine code on a stock 2g ecu. Its not really used for much except for emissions purposes. (To see if the EGR is working properly) On a 2g turbo car, this is NOT a MAP sensor.http://members.shaw.ca/dsm.1000q/Engineprimer/2G/mdp.htmIf you get DSMlink you can disable...
Any reason why you cut off the dyno at 5800? Stock rev limiter is 7500, and horsepower=torque at 5250.It would be good to see the power curve characterstics at higher RPM (especially if there is a large dropoff) in planning for future tuning/upgrades/modifications
Since you have an older car, you probably want to check the health of your engine, timing, fuel delivery system (fuel filter, air filter), and normal maintence stuff like pcv valve, change fluids, etc.Just make sure everything is solid before you start adding additional stress to the...
Usually people will go a little more on the rich side to give themselves a larger safety margin when running high-than-stock boost levels. The main question to ask is, how are you measuring your a/f levels? The stock O2 sensor is imprecise and only good as a general indicator if you are...
Yes, i have already removed the glass. It seems that both the of the cables are simultaneously threaded through the motor. (They have somehow gotten uneven so that the guides are different distances from the motor).I am going to try detaching the rails and see if i can get any play in the...

When you get closer to the ragged edge, what is "safe" vary from car to car, and depending on mods. Also, depends on the conditions, such as weather, temperature, altitude, etc. What might be ok one day might be not so okay another day. So you might want to give your self a bit of a safety...
Why not just tether/secure the dipstick? If you try to put some kind of catch can on, you will be losing a lot of oil (from the amount of crankcase pressure it sounds like you are getting).
I ocassionally see 2g's with 6-bolt swaps in them on the market if your main concern about the 2g is CW. In fact, some people buy them not realizing they have a swapped car. Just be careful and make sure a reputable shop or knowledgeable person did the swap.
Yeah, I searched to see if it was in any other threads but didnt see anything. Its a highly annoying problem (especially with pocketlogger which makes you re-register the code every time you do a hotsync restore).Supposedly due to defective capacitors or something. My technique is to...
For those not aware, there is a class-action lawsuit settlement against palm for users of m100/m105/m125 that have problems. Specifically:Some of you out there use these devices with data logging software (I use pocketlogger myself personally), and have problems with the device. (If a...
All depends on who you get.California is the land of the smog nazi's.You can pass emissions and they could still fail you on the visual.Best to ask around and find someone reputable, the visual is highly discretionary.
You might consider wiring the gauges to be ignition-switched (on a relay) so as to not be a constant drain on your battery, even when your car is off. (And you wont have to be constantly switching them on/off manually)
HID conversion kits in stock housings really suck. The beam pattern is all over the place (i.e. lighting overhead freeway signs from 1/2 a mile away).Projector housings are an improvement, as it gives a better cuttoff and doesnt blind the person in front of you.
This is the metal crush washer that is designed to deform slightly to fit the irregularities of the sealing surface between the drain plug and oil pan. It should especially be changed if you noticed any oil drip from the drain plug.
You can put '95 pistons on 1G big rods (with some modifications) in a 6-bolt motor. You get the 2g 8.5 c/r.Its also possible to re-use your 2G head on a 6-bolt bottom end.Dont forget to upgrade your studs & bearings if building the motor. Might want to remove the balance shafts (less...
To be clear, for my install, I had to:1.) Dremel the indentations on the shroud for the radiator hoses, as they were too narrow on mine to fit properly. (Be careful to keep it centered so the rubber moulding stays flush with the sides)2.) Cut part of the rubber moulding that was hanging...
I have the flex a lite fans (fals) for eclipsenot quite "plug-and-play" as you have to wire them in (it uses a separate adjustable controller). It does have a "shroud", although the shroud is flat, so it doesnt really channel air into the fan (perhaps lowering radiator efficiency as air...
Also check the hose routing to the wastegate actuator. You said it fluctuates throughout the day... does it change inconsistently or follow any pattern?
Bought my '95 in 2002 for $4500.Engine threw a rod a year later. Pretty much every part in the engine bay has been rebuilt or replaced. Including tranny. Lots of upgrades, repairs. I've put more $$ into the car then it cost brand new... kinda sux things kept breaking... Non-working a/c...
Did you own the car before the rebuild? Does it seem slower then before? How fast is your car compared to other stock 2g eclipses? Where are you tapped in for boost? (Are you sure your getting the full 15psi?)
