I understand what you are saying there and I agree but maybe I wasnt clear in my previous post. Sometimes when I use my key lock pad, the aftermarket one, and I open my doors the stock alarm goes off and the only way for me to stop it is to pop my hood and pull the IOD fuse. I just wanna knwo...
I have a question about the stock security alarm that comes with the Talons. I just recently got an aftermarket Viper alarm installed and I wanna completely cut off the stock one. The installer of my alarm wont do it cuz its against their policy I guess...anyways, can anyone tell me how to do...
I would actually check the turbo before going ahead and getting the head gasket bro. I have the same problem with blowing white smoke when I shift gears and rev it up and its my turbo. I also have the t-25, and its definitely my turbo. Just giving you a heads up, have that checked.
It depends on what turbo the owner put on and other mods...if its a stock t-25 (which wouldnt make sense) then it would be similar to a stock gs-t but if its bigger it could be faster. See if you can find out what kind of turbo, how much PSI its running and other supporting mods it has and we...
Some turbos to look at would be a t3/t4 turbo probably a 50 trim. But you will need many supporting mods along with the turbo man. FMIC, injectors, fuel pump, dsmlink to tune...those just jump to mind. Do a search for "fp green" and "t3/t4" and you should get many threads on turbos capable of...
Great job dude...I hope I can pull off some numbers like that. Last time I went to the track I had a bad knock sensor and was trapping at like 80mph ROFL
I currently have a 1g BOV on my car and its working well...my question though is there an aftermarket BOV that I can recirculate back in that is louder?? I still like ths sound call me ricer :)Thanks guys.
Updated lifters would be like refurbished??Thanks for that link, I just dont want to spend tons of money on lifters right now...my main concern is getting rid of the ticking. What oil would you guys suggest to put it my car after I change the lifters weight wise?? I heard 10w-40...I do...
I have a badcase of lifter tick going on and I was wondering if putting new lifters in my car will solve the problem?? Any suggestions on what lifters to get also?? Thanks guys.
I am currently in the process of replacing my clutch along with a few other things. Someone brought up the point of changing my clutch line to a steel clutch line...my question is this necessary and if so where can I buy one??My car is a 1996 AWD Talon tsi. Thanks guys.
Well nothing too exciting from the mechanic I had look at it...he just said "these motors are known for this, just keep an eye on it and if you notice it getting worse then bring it back cuz you might need a new motor."So good news LoL Hopefully it isnt that on either one of our cars.
I have a similar problem actually bro...I am hoping its not a SERIOUS problem.I am actually having it looked at tomorrow so I will let you know what the mechanic tells me tomorrow.
The reason I ask is because I dont want to take my throttle body off then find out its different gaskets...then I wont have a car to go to the auto parts store. But thanks for the replies everyone.
My question is about my throttle body gasket. I recently bought a 1g throttle body for my 2g. Do I need a new gasket for it?? Also, do the 1g and 2g use the same gasket?? The reason I ask is because the 1g came with a gasket already...Thanks, Ammar
Was the Spec hard for everyday driving? I commute to school and its about a 30 minute drive mostly highway unless there is traffic which there usually is in the afternoon. I dont want to be hassled while driving ya know. But I also want the performance out of my clutch. I guess I want the...
Yeah one of my buddies has the centerforce clutch, he likes it. I totally forgot about that one. I am just suprised more people arent using a Spec clutch...
Ok sorry for putting it in the wrong forum. But back to my question. Has anyone tried a Spec III clutch on their 2g?? What did you think of it?Thanks for the responses guys/gals.
I have read that many people on here get the ACT but what is the reason for it?? I always thought SPEC was the top of the line company for clutches. At least back in my mustang days a few years ago they were...thanks for the reply though DTH.
I am in the market for a new clutch. I am either going with a SPEC 3 or ACT2600 I think. My question is what clutch do you guys/gals prefer and why??Any input is appreciated.
If you have a 1995 GST, you have a T25 unless it was swapped for a 14b...can I ask why you are asking this??But to answer, on a 1g car the 16g is a bolt-on in place of the 14b but on the 2g cars you need an install kit which runs about $220 if I remember correctly.
If you have money to spend go with Thermal. They sound so good. They are quiet but deep until WOT. I am personally going with Dynomax only because of money issues.
Does it pull to the right when you are driving or braking?? Dude, I would go back and get my money back then go to a REAL alignment shop. Thats bullshit, if you pay for an alignment you better receive a full alignment.
Why dont you just get rid of the cat?? As for wires I always hear that either MSD or Accel are good. And in regards to the head gasket, unless you know what you are doing, take it to a professional. Its very tedious.
Has anyone had a problem with the throttle body causing the gas pedal to get stuck?? My gas pedal gets stuff when its at the top...I have to use alot of force to push it down. I am almost 99% sure that its the throttle body because when I took it apart I could see a groove that formed from the...
or Gaddis has too much time on his hands :)Anyways bro, good luck getting it back together and running properly. Hopefully its not anything REAL serious which will cost serious $$$
Thanks for that calculator. REAL helpful. I dont waste my time much with octane boosters. I rather spend those bucks on something better such as Dairy Queen :thumb:
are you saying you want to buy a different head and get that stuff done or just use the one you have already??If you already have the head, it could be anywhere from $200-$700 depending on if you have a hook up and how the prices are in your town. Its real time consuming.
It tells you the size of the rim on the tire bro. It will read something like 215/55/16. The 16 means its a 16 inch rim. If it says 17 for example, then its 17 inch rim.I hope this is what you are talking about...
Bro he is on drag radials, he should be able to do better than that on 60'. Just work on your launch...once you install your new gear you should be closer to 12's.
