Did you try lowering your launch RPM a little?Good runs either way though, you'll get it next year.

    11's still elude me...

If you can run a 12.04 @ 115 with a 1.79 60ft then you can easily so an 11.9X with a low 1.7X or 1.6 anything. Keep at it, with even a half prepped track you'll get that 11.XX timeslip. You should try lowering the launch RPM though, maybe it needs a little less power off the line with all that...

New times on the Holset HX-35

Nice times, it makes me wish I held onto the Holset I had.As for the 3 bolt comments, I've cut a 1.68, 1.69 x 2, and numerous low 1.7's on my stock Non-LSD 150k+ mile 3 bolt in my Galant. Oh and thats with stock size 195/60/15 Kuhmo Hp4 all season radials.

Have you been to Us131 in Mi or MCIR in Ohio?

Yeah it's not to far but no one seems to know anything about it, nor does it look that great in pictures. I will go to 131 at least once this year though for sure.Check the local forum, even if it's clear I might not be able to go to Muncie tomorrow but I'll sure try. The clutch just decided...

Have you been to Us131 in Mi or MCIR in Ohio?

It is a long haul for sure, about 2 hours. However the closest track to me is Muncie and that is already 1.5 hours so it's not much worse. I miss living in Orlando where OSW was open all year and open 2 nights a week for test and tune. Not to mention it was just a 20 minute drive.I agree...

I am looking for the feedback on the following tracks.http://www.mcir.net/This is in Marion, Ohio. It looks ok in the pictures but not spectacular. If you have ever been whats it like? Is tech strict, how much was it, how good are they are getting things going again if someone breaks and so...

transmission swap with evo 6 speed

Why do you like the 6 speed because it sounds cool? It's actually the lesser of the two choices in the Evo. (Read: So it would not be smart)If you are doing it to be cool and impress the local 4h babes just put a shift knob from a 6speed car in yours and tell them it's a 6 speed. If they...

What kind of HP are you guys putting down with your Stock Clutch?

I've done the time listed below my name. It didn't slip at all on that run, but it was a sissy launch (1.9 60ft). I've tried a studder box launch and it would have no part of that. I know of others who have done even lower 12's @ 112ish on the stock clutch also, so it's not unheard of.

Cyclone Intake Manifold..where Can I Get A Gasket Or Make One ???!?!

I don't know on mine because I don't drive the car that often. When I do it gets hammered so the mileage is crap.I can comment that a few guys on the Galant forum have seen a small increase in mileage. One thing I love is the 5th gear passing. I can go 50% throttle on the highway and pass...

Cyclone Intake Manifold..where Can I Get A Gasket Or Make One ???!?!

I have one and it's all hooked up correctly working just like OEM via a chip from Jeff O. (DSMchips). I have disconnected it before and the difference in spool, low end, and torque is instantly noticeable. I have yet to dyno it but obviously it's been proven it works at this point. What some...

Smoked a Skyline at the track!

I was at Muncie last Friday as well in my GVR4. I was only 1 car away from running the Skyline my last run of the night, instead I lined up against an LS1. No biggie though I still beat the LS1, I ran 13.5 @ 104.8 on pump gas with my small 16g he ran like a 15.0 @ 99mph.ROFL

Log results - lots of knock! Eeeek!

While your new injectors may be clean they may not all flow the same. Aftermarket injectors can often have quite the flow variance. It's just a suggestion, but look at it like this. If some are on the low side and some on the high side you will forever have a poor tune. It's worth knowing the...

Log results - lots of knock! Eeeek!

Why have you not turned down the boost and done a log? To me that seems so simple. I may have missed it but read most of this thread and didn't see any mention of logging at lower boost. Try a log at 13psi and see what it says. Then increase 1psi at a time and log each run. Then you can see...

Fuel pump not drawing up fuel.

I have set a stock pump in a bucket with only a tiny bit of gas in it and it was enough to make pressure to start the car quickly. The gas just went over the filter sock. If the pump is submerged and has power hooked up correctly (not reversed polarity) it will work. If it doesn't, well it's...

    Evo motor in GST

Evo 1-3 Motor would be just like any other 6 bolt swap. Evo 4+ Motor, Keep dreaming. For starters it is backwards. Just do a 6bolt swap from a 1g or buy a JDM 6 bolt and call it a day.

I have no ISC or FIAV and it idles right at 750rpm. It took a slight adjustment of the (new) BISS but it's fine. Mine was actually a little on the low side at first. Since yours is high have you tried cranking the BISS in a couple more turns?

    oil catch can [Merge]

I just checked mine this weekend and their is indeed a slight oily film on the firewall behind the breather filter. That does not sit well with me, I like a clean engine bay.
  36. Stanford

    oil catch can [Merge]

Well I did it honestly for a couple reasons.First - I have read it allows more pressure relief at higher RPM's, which I don't see how it couldn't.Second- I don't have hot oily air being sucked into my intake manifold at idle.Third- I do like the non-dirty intake system. I know, I...

    oil catch can [Merge]

Alright that link did provide a little insight and I do understand what it's saying/claiming.In short your main beef was this if I am understanding you correctly.Do some hard pulls, blow by is created. Get off throttle and the PCV gets opened by vacuum. This sucks out the blow by...

    oil catch can [Merge]

Low trim is only idle.So you should specify it will only affect it at *idle*, if anything so the newbs understand. It's closed under boost and the other breather doesn't care where it breathes to. A catch can will not and does not affect A/f in any important circumstance. If it does...

    oil catch can [Merge]

The only way unmetered air could get in is if you went VC > Catch can > Intake AND had a breather on the catch can. The intake would be sucking air through the breather into the turbo, which would be unmetered. You have it hooked up fine as is.If you want to go one step further and keep...

On my VR4 I just installed new front lines, new lines to the master cylinder and a new Prop valve. Everything else is the same, 1g's may be a little different though. [RESOLVED] Timingbelt Falling Apart [Merged 8-8] groove cut short bolt bolts

Then something is wrong with your car. It should be fine, even in the hot, even with the AC on, and going up hill. You need to give it a tune up, once over, whatever you want to call it. If you don't know how to properly maintain it then have someone who does do it. I only say this because...
