At 6 psi, like everyone has stated, you won't hear your BOV when letting off from an idle rev. If you were boosting higher, like 12+, you should be able to hear it a bit. Again, depending on the BOV you own.
This is the mandrel custom 3-inch downpipe I made back when I had my talon (complete with v-bands)...its ugly, but it was fun to make..(I only had a Mig welder though)..
False Again my friend...I currently built and am running a full electrolysis system on my 93 lexus, AKA hydrogen and water to give better gas mileage... I have it connected and has been running for the past 3 months with at the most 5 extra miles TO THE TANK. It varies is every car, but...
What the hell? You said 500+WHP car has done this many times... but you're comparing this to your car which barely pushes 100WHP?? We know how wheel spinouts btwn gears works, it looks like you were asking how you could do it, so why are you comparing it to a 500whp car? OF COURSE THEY CAN...
There is very minimal boost when just revving an engine, so your gauge will not go above zero(especially if you are boosting low, but as Locke said there should at least be vacuum (unless your revving too high to tell).
Where did you tap for your boost gauge source?
-Without your O2 sensor hooked up your going to have a littlle trouble keeping it alive without throwing codes.
-Boost gague will not show boost from just free revs... The BOV will not release pressure because there is no boost...
- You should get that downpipe together first.....
Maybe...
I sent an e-mail to symtech labs and they said you CAN'T go on a waiting list nor would they release any hint of a price... I'm guessing it is going to be much longer than a couple months everyone... Don't toss the Portfueler out the door just yet.
When you say you lost fuel are you implying fuel is not coming up through the lines anymore? I'm guessing you checked your coil pack and made sure the plug is pushed in completely. The high idle could be due to your throttle cable adjusting plate. Explain this no fuel and spark situation...
+1 I currently have my talon with Trevor, because even after my full head gasket change I couldn't pinpoint the problem with the white smoke out of my exhaust... I personally trust and recommend him. He is definitely good people.
PM me if your interested... I'd post his website here, but I'm...
I can see one fabricating a downpipe for this setup, but I doubt there will be a lot more of these right away unless everyone removes their AC systems. Slippi won't need AC so he is in the clear... I've been studying the pictures pretty close and (although I know you will fix the issue) there...
You don't get power gains from your lightened pulley set. The pulley set is usually to compensate for UDP. For just a lightened pulley, I also can't see there actually being much of a difference in power.
420a Engine Bay LEFT
4g63 Engine Bay RIGHTCompletely different motors and parts, and 180 degree difference (Meaning the motor and transmission mounts are complete opposites of one another...) sorry man.
Strongly agree right here, pay back your father... then decide if you want to got the turbo route. You're not ready for it yet, because the money you saved your dad by not upgrading internals will bite him in the ass later if you consider going the turbo route...Get a cheap intake, or a nice...
Read my mind! I had to jack my engine up A lot! Even after I did I had to wiggle the bolt to get it at an angle to get it out! I removed my crossmember just to be sure.
Very interesting... cause mine looks like blitz's. I know for that the stock fan is a multi speed fan so there should only be one ground and the rest you can solder together as a single positive... But I'm not sure which one that ground is.
Are you taking a look at the OP's question? He bought a new radiator and it came with the fan. He wants to know how to hook up the fan, not how to run a proper cooling system...
He said the passenger side, that harness has 4 wires. I thought that was the AC fan harness. Blitzs correct if you are referring to the driver's side harness... that only has 2/3 wires.
Have you checked the timing? Spark plugs? Plug wires? Does the starter sound like it is struggling? Fuel filter?Could be sensors too, but start with simple things...
Haha good point! Yeah I did want to get away from the turbo, but the amount of heat soak I am experiencing is causing me to rethink my route. I might also opt for a turbo jacket to help keep the temps down.
I'm no professional, but I can speak based on my experience if that helps a little...There is quite a bit to consider when choosing a welder. I was using a Miller MIG welder, I would not recommend using a MIG for this kind of job, I mean it will work, but it won't come out as clean as a TIG...
UPDATE:: Due to the high temps over here it seems that the doctor was right and the half radiator mod is not going to work out...What lead me to the conclusion was the following:- Tried a 50/50 mix of propylene and water, water temps were overheating...
- Went with an 80/20...
Oh and I am not running a thermostat... had overheating problems before and by removing my original thermostat, cooling went down greatly....Just thought I would throw that in if it matters. Thanks!
I just got my car back up and running, but I'm having overheating issues... The temp gauge climbs 3/4 from the top, my egt is only reading about 900 degrees (F)? I have two fans on the radiator and it is a larger radiator than stock so I know the radiator is fine (eventhough it is a half size...
Wow that turbo kicks in fast and hard! It may be time for an upgrade =), but first I wanna get this car to run nice and sound! Sounds like the 4g guys love it!
Sounds really tempting... yeah I read that thread, but I'm still wondering about the size (clearance wise). That fast spool time sounds great for the street! Thanks for the quick reply.
Hey everyone I had a few quick questions and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with Borg Warner turbos. I have my eye on the s200 50 trim, but to be honest I don't know too much about the actual turbo specs (in general). I heard it has excellent spool time and people seem to love it...
Just felt like sharing a few more pics of the progress... Yeah it's damn messy still. Just waiting for my intake manifold to complete the setup. Decided to run a jumper battery post to the engine bay. Hope everything continues to go smoothly. I have a 10" push fan in front of the condenser...
On this forum I could not state, but if we're referring to the 420a motor there are a few on a few dodge forums and a couple on 2gnt. I can grab the links if necessary, but i'm sorry if I gave the impression that there were a huge amount. I just wanted to saying that you wouldn't be the first...
I've been following your threads for a while, but I honestly can't see what makes your build so unique? Not knockin', but besides for the high CR and a possible AWD conversion (which has been done, but just not cost effective). Sure no doubt you have secrets and your not going to reveal yet...
I just finished my 3" v-band setuphttp://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/420a-bolt-tech/298728-rearranging.htmlIt's nice because I don't have to worry about gaskets... and maneuvering a wrench to get the damn downpipe off.
C'mon guys you know what he meant, even if it wasn't stated correctly. Boost provides power and in turn thats what he meant, I wish I could tell you but I honestly don't know... Anyone with a boosted automatic have any idea?
