sounds like a possible arching in side the boots like a major electrical surge inside them. That dosent help you much but it give you and idea. I doubt its water in the boots. I've heard of this happing before. I'm gonna research it but I'm sure some one will find the answer before me lol.

it's auto right. sounds like a tranny issue to me. I dont know enough about auto trannies to make a good guess but thats what it sounds like to me. If it were the turbo it would be more of an RPM problem not a speed problem.

I'm not in anyway contradicting what your saying ricekiller but thats not 100% true. The most common sign of a blown turbo is white smoke at idle after crusing then you come to a stop a plum will come out of the tailpipe. The same goes for a blown headgasket but they will smell totally diffrent...

to help you understand a bit more what he means by not being able to tell A/F without a wideband. When you go into wide open throttle the ecu dosent really use the O2 sensor to make fuel corrections so the O2 is pretty irrelevant at WOT.

It isnt as a big a deal as it sounds you just have to trim the front left/driver side mount a bit with a cutting tool to clear the 1G water pump thats the only cutting involved.
