thanks much!
My bushings should be in today.
Now I got another noise to worry about! Sounds like a wheel bearing, but the noise does not change pitch on turns. :( Carrier bearing maybe? I decided to get on it a little, and it was vibrating some.
The toe for the rear is adjustable from factory, just mine are frozen. Right now the tow in in the rear is the least of my worries. The bushings I am ordering are for the upper control arm which are shot.
Even before the car was lowered, it was doing this. But I will check that this evening.
And suggestion on the replacement bushings? The car has been aligned twice, never really looked at the alignment print out, but I see the rear tow is not adjusted. there is a note there saying the rear...
I did search and found nothing so far. But a quick overview of the issue.1995 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD.Since I have owned the car, while driving on the highway, at really any speed above 20. When I will hit a bump in the road or where bridges connect, the rear of the car feels like it...
This friday I picked up some new rotors and pads all the way around. The rears are from the dealer as they are the vented ones.
since the install, I heard a grinding from the left rear on right hand turns.
I removed the caliper and bracket, and the rotor on the inside where it covers over...
well in all honesty i had a problem with my last build with the timing being off it turned out that i put the crankshaft timing plate on backwards and it threw my timing off never bent anything just couldn't figure out why the car ran horribly till i pulled the number one plug and when my valves...
well all i wanted to let you all know that i fixed the car it turned out that i had the crank timing plate on backwards....and shes running good once again....thanks for all the help on this and my past problemsthanks againnow i just gotta figure out why my car will idle at times and...
well my 90 tsi fell victim to losing the oil filter while driving locking it up.....since then i went and got another block and built it up with new rings, bearings, seals, etc...recently got it all back together went to fire it up for the first time and i have the most horrible misfire.....my...
well the reason was because there was no bolt in the back or front where each alignment pin is at so i think thats why the clutch and starter were giving me problems......i got all but the bolt in the front in now because its missing......i plan on doing a rebuilt motor swap here in the near...
well i got the new clutch kit to put in but once i get this thing all together i need to know what i can do to mount the tranny on the front (welding is not an potion because the piece of the block is missing) i was thinking of drilling a hole in the front engine mount and running a bolt and nut...
well i pulled out my tranny........and i found most of my answers when i did......turns out that leak i thought was from my transfer case was coming from my axle seal........and the clutch disc separated from the hub.....and i also found out that the tranny wasn't on right which is what killed...
well havik i don't have the site for you but i can tell you how to do it as i am in the process of removing mine as we speak in my tsi......first thing i would do is start removing the items that are in your way under the hood...............ie battery.....upper intercooler pipe..... air...
well i am in the process of taking my tranny out but i am stuck because my transfer case isn't coming off i've been prying it and it just pulls itself back.......i felt around on the top of the x fer case and i don't feel anymore bolts? and i also wanan point out that the one bolt by the drain...
well i finally got my ignition problem solved....thanks to everyones info on here but now i have a new problem.....i tried to catch my car in gear because my starter isn't starting my car it is just grinding.......so i went to pop it in gear and i get nothing i felt like i just coasted the whole...
ok lets add another problem to the list i tried to catch it in gear and i have no gears feels like i am in neutral in all gears? i just can't win with my car
i got spark to all four cylinders now.....thanks everyone for all your help especially you rallye and steve.........now i just need to figure out whats wrong with my starter because its just grinding and not spinning the motor
nope havn't got to test it like that yet......coils are already installed ......shouldn't i be able to see the arcs between the coils with the plug wires off or not if not then maybe thats the problem
i got them aftermarket from my work.....advance auto parts.....when i am spinning the cas with everything hooked up i get no spark from the coils only this slight clicking sound and i kno its not the injectors because they are unplugged it sounds like maybe a weak spark would sound
well i replaced the coils....now i have power pin 1 and pin 6....but i am still just getting a clicking sound from the coils?? i have the injectors unplugged so i don't flood the motor so whats goin on here
well pin 1 is the only one showing power....(yellow/green) i am buying new coil packs in the morning and see if thats the problem....i measured the resistance on the secondary and i got close to 15.2 on both of them
rally told me a way to test my coil packs by unplugging the transister and grounding the coils manually to see if they fire....and i noticed that my pin with the yellow and green stripe wire on the transister connector for one of the coils ground has a 12v source (picture in post 9)and i keep...
yeah i tried your method and all i am getting for spark is the sparking coming from the transister plug i'm buying the coils again tomorrow and i will see and i am gonna take the voltmeter with me so i can test them right in the store lol
well i took out my coils and i noticed one of the nuts for the wires came loose on the back so i tightened it up and i tried ## little test again you showed me rally and all it does is spark from the transister pin so is there some sort of problem possibly with the transister plug
but i can't understand i bought brand new coils for my car and they did the same exact thing as my ones i have now not i just hooked them up not sure if they had t be installed on the intake mani to work??....you said i have to have the spark plug cables on to do this can i just look at the coils?
oh hey i think i figured out why i had continuity on pin 56 because i was looking at the diagram wrong i was connecting it to 54 not 56 and 56 i thought was 54 stupid me but i got continuity to pins 54 and 55 so moving on lol.....also i check the ecu grounds on the battery and on a ground...
well the continuity test was as follows.........pin 55 needle moved all the way over to zero.....pin 54 (think i did it right) needle doesn't move at all......i did this with the battery disconnected....does it need to be powered on ???....i tried pin 2 from (pt) with pin 56 (Ecu) and i got the...
well i am getting power to what appears to be white or yellow with a green stripe on the transister plug.....and i am getting power to the white and black wire on the coil plug and i have my ecu disconnected not sure if that makes any difference
well all i still havn't figured out whats going on with my 90 tsi and apparently noone else is writing back to me in my previous thread so here it goes......i am having a spark issue and i have tried to replace everything now all i am getting from the coils is a clicking sound.......we tried all...
well we tested every ignition component of mine on my buddys car and everything worked on his we also tested his ecu did the same thing as mine in my car because now all i am getting is this clicking sound coming from my coils but no spark so i am looking into wiring issue so someone please tell...
well fuel pressure is good.....i somehow fried the ecu while i was testing the cam sensors it sounded like one of the cylinders fired then i had nothing .....no boost gauge to 0....... no check engine light ....no nothing.....so i opened it up and low and behold there was a tiny black mark on it...
well i couldn'ty get the gauge to work just made a lil bit of a mess so i am gonna try again later today.....but i tried something just for the heck of it i took the old cas apart and redid the broken wires to it and i plugged it in now my injectors are working but i still only have one coil...
well i am going to go buy the gauge now and see where we are here ...........i swapped the bleeder banjo bolt that was on the fuel filter to the original .........no idea why the person had it on there in the first place.....but just to see i had my friend crank the car with the line off and...
