The car doesn't have any boost leaks. That was the first thing I tested when this started happening.EDIT: I think that I should add that it happened while I was tuning last night, but didn't do it the night before, and never happened before last month. I'm going to do some tweaking later...
Sorry to ressurect an old thread, but I have an example of T-25 boost creep. Right now it is creeping up to 18 pounds before hitting fuel cut at 5500RPM. 3" turboback, un-ported O2 housing, MBC set (currently) at 12 pounds, was at 15, turned it down to see what would happen with the fuel cut.
actually, a wedge combustion chamber came out before the hemispherical design. go pull the head off of your 4G63, then go look at any top fuel car's head. notice a pattern? all hemispherical combustion chamber.
Yes they can, but you have to be sneaky to get them out. It took me about half an hour to figure it out. I think when I removed them I loosened the coils from the plate first.
Pretty close. I got mine at a local auto parts store for $7 a piece. The construction is identical. They had the same ones 1/4 mile up the road at an airbrake shop.I'm suprised these aren't used more for these applications.Yes, I know there's a loose hanger.
Thats what I used on my exhaust. You just have to clamp them to like 90 ft/lbs to stop them from leaking. I've had them on my car for about 6 months and no leaks or problems yet. You also dont have to worry about catching them on speed bumps or anything like that either. I recommend them.
I would use some of California's information, since its so readily available, but I'm from northeastern PA. I'm trying to consider the audience that I'll be delivering this to, where people are mainly from Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. PA's laws regarding racing are the ones I've...
Alright, I have to make a persuasive speech, and I'm doing it on racing at the track instead of the street. I'm looking for laws and legal consequences, specifically for Pennsylvania. I've tried searching, but I haven't come up with anything useful yet. If anyone knows where to find laws...
Dude, calm down. Honestly. Everything we do to our cars to increase performance was just an idea at some point. Some of them have been proven to work very well, and some have been proven to not work at all. I know there was a guy on this board who had a side-exit exhaust on his car, it was...
If he doesn't have anything to tune, like an SAFC, it doesn't make any sense to spend the money on a logger yet. EGT gauge has my vote, it's well worth the money.
There should probably be one on buffing and color sanding. Plus one about getting stains and discolorations out of your seats, carpet, headliner, etc, and emoving pinstripes & badges.
You can reuse it just as long as your new upper charge pipe clears it. Mine didn't, I'm using a simple 3" pipe with a K&N. I don't know why you would want to reuse it though.
In 1Gs, you won't overrun the stock MAS with a MAFT setup. The only real differences that I noticed (I'm using this setup) is a bit quicker spool time, you can tune roughly, and you can vent your BOV. I use this to rough tune my car, and use the SAFC to fine tune it. It works the same as an...
My friend is using it in his (now single turbo) 3000GT. He's using it because the single is mounted over the transmission, relatively close to the hood and wiring. We figured we'd try this before we started making heat shields for everything.
Flash is right, but let me explain his post a bit more. You might have to adjust the spring when you raise boost pressure. If your BOV started to blow open at 15 pounds, and you decided that you want to try 20 pounds, it will obviously open at the higher boost pressure. The spring adjustment...
For the nitrous, you can use an MSD controller (I'll try to find the part number) that will only activate it wherever you set the start and end point of a certain RPM window.
Theres a bunch of information in this thread about the possibilities of using a dual fuel system. I've honestly been considering this for awhile, I'd like to see someone who has done it successfully.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=106308&highlight=dual+fuel
I got my winter rubber mats here. They fit just fine, kept the snow and crap off of my carpet, and even matched my interior. I think this is where I got my good ones also.http://www.autoanything.com/products/product_fm.aspx?p_id=1581&se=husky_heavy_duty_floor_mats
If it was me, I would try to get the money back from them. If they don't, keep asking them to speak to their superior until you get to the top of the hierarchy. If it still doesn't work, call the credit card company and file to cancel the payment.
I also am lazy. Mine's above the vent for now, but I didn't use the mount they gave me, I wanted something a bit sturdier. I'll be changing this in the spring when I get around to it.Pardon the sanding and bondo dust, as well as the gutted interior.
A while ago I found instructions on how to re-key your lock cylinders, and lost the link. Now I have the lock for the hatch out of the car and can't find the information on how to reset it. Does anyone have a link or any other information?
You're going to need to get reducer. Mix it at 1:1.5. Go to your local auto paint supply store and get mixing cups, strainers and sticks and talk to the guys who work there. They usually know what they're doing. I don't know if you're just spraying part of the car or just a panel, but you're...
It depends how its tuned. If it has enough fuel for the nitrous, it shouldn't cause much of a problem. If you're running it dry into the motor or it's tuned crappy, then it's going to cause a nice sound to come from the front of the car. If you're going to run nitrous, have it tuned properly...
Butt dyno says :thumb: . The only problem I had with mine was I had to hammer the pipe down so I could squeeze a socket in there to bolt it down. It's a nice piece though. I also have a 3" high-flow cat and a Thermal R&D rear section.
Good luck with the 3kGT. We're in the process of putting a single turbo on my friend's 94 N/A. It also used to be an auto, but that's been changed also.
I have the old-style Azenis on mine. From what I hear, the sidewalls of the 615s are softer than that of the 215s, so they'll be a bit more comfortable on the highway, but I've gotten used to my 215s and I think the car is still quite comfortable. Tire life, however, isn't all that great. If...
Yeah, any idiot can have a kid. From what I've seen, the less the intelligence of the parents, the more children they wind up with. Then we have even more stupid added to the gene pool. It's really disturbing that it's allowed to happen like that. It's also too bad that the government banned...
The high base pressure from the 255 is probably causing it to run so rich. An adjustable regulator will help it out and make it easier to tune. Also using a wideband or a datalogger will help it, so you can see how rich it's running.
If you drop the compression you can run higher boost, yes. And what are these "turbo rods and pistons" you speak of? The compression has nothing to do with whether they're "turbo" pistons. Some people run high-compression and still use forced induction, while most prefer to have lower...
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/timingbelt-2G.htmlScroll down and look at how to verify the timing. We also get lifter tick in these cars, which can be fixed by switching to the 3g revised lifters.
All that is going to do is let the motor rev higher without floating the valves. If they think 8 pounds is pathetic, they should have seen my buddy's civic hatch that put down 320hp at 6 pounds. He was running race gas and his timing curve was ridiculous, though. The pressure that the turbo...
There are foam buckets that you can put behind them to insulate the sound and seal out water. I have them in my Jeep and have never had a problem with them.
I had a tuning issue with the MAFT before I started using the SAFC where I would be cruising and the EGT would jump like that. The logger was showing my front O2 voltage at .02 at the time. I re-tuned it and the problem went away. Do you have a datalogger or a wideband? Any CEL? My problem...
Tubular manifold, external wastegate and injectors so I can finally bolt on the new turbo. Building a set of headlights using 3KGT projectors that I got from my friend's car that use the stock housings. Also chopping a set of 2GA TSi side skirts, and various little things that have been...
My girlfriend loves driving my car. She drove it when the 2600 was in it, and actually didn't like it when the 2100 went in. She says she likes the whooshing noise it makes when she shifts.
