On my old FWD with stock suspension, I couldn't hook at all. Every time I got on the gas the car would sink WAY back (hello 130,000 mile stock suspension) and the weight would come off the front tires, and I'd get a ton of wheelspin.I added plain old GR2's and Eibach pro-kit springs. No more...
I saw these wheels in the Jegs catalog, does anyone know a cheaper place to buy them from? They are one of my favorite wheels and they claim they only weight 11lbs for the 17" modelAnyone have a picture of 1G with these mounted up?
I'm using the same 13/16 plug socket that I used to remove the old plugs and put these in. It's the right size. It just won't grip them to pull them out.
Removed the Bosch plugs that were in the car because they were fouled. NAPA didn't have any NGK BPR's in stock so I just bought some 89 cent Autolites. Now that I have all the bugs worked out of the car (I hope) I went to remove the Autolites to put a set of NGK's in. My socket will not grip...
Just roll down the driveway backwards, and pop the clutch with it in reverseI've had to find hills to park on for a few days before. Nothing like people at work staring at me while I push my car then jump in :)
How to increase boost levels on a Talon/Eclipse/Laser.Written by Eric TyppoVer. 1.0a 4/11/95A lot has been learned since then. Unhook the BCS completely, and get a good MBC.
225/50 is too wide, it'll work but it looks funny and wears un even.Think about picking up a set of Probe wheels (or other 16x7 wheels). They fit 225's great.
The Monza/Pacesetter downpipes are $207.99 from Summit. Be careful of creeping on a stock turbo though. Pair it up with a 3" Dynomax ultraflow muffler...dang!
18x7.5" Racing Hart CP 035's installed today225-40-18'sFits great, nowhere near the wheel gap that I thought there would be, I still don't think I'll lower it because the fenders might rub....Looks great and rides great, I thought they'd be too big but I guess not.
Does changing the oil count?$29 boost controller
$199 downpipe
$50 used muffler
$40 in muffler man labor/etcSoon to have a $1,000 wheel/tire setup on it :DSuspension is next....probably spend ~ $350-$450 on a strut/coil setup.
101 does sound pretty high for a T25Sounds dead on for a 14.4 in a FWD though.Figure a 2.4 60 foot time....With a 2.0 60 foot time my friends 94 Z28 ran a 14.0 @ 100mph, it also went 13.9 @ 99 mph. The general rule is every tenth of a second in the 60 foot is .2 seconds in the...
You'll need a full exhaust, K&N, and maybe a fuel pump. Raising the boost by itself isn't nearly enough. The 99+ GT's run ~ 14.0 @ 100, slower if they're an auto, a tenth quicker if you've got a really, really good driver at the wheel. They're about the same speed as the 1993-1997 Camaros and...
The only problem is hitting boost on accident ;)I've seen some AWD Talons going sideways because they were wearing Z-rated summer tires. I've had a few FWD's that worked great in the snow with all-weather tires.
A stock Trans Am/Z28 are just as fast as a stock C5. The Z06 is another story, but they Corvette and F-body have the same engine. The C5 is a little lighter, a little more aerodynamic, but the independent rear sucks a little more power than the solid rear of the 'dinosaur f-body'
I have tickets for speeding, reckless driving, running stop signs, you name it. This is a "Do as I say, not as I do". I don't drive like that anymore. I don't need to.Don't street raceGo to the track, pay your $15, and get it out of your system. It's not worth it on the street. You'll...
A day doesn't go by when I don't see a new pic of a WRX, STI or EVO all balled up.What gives? Are idiots buying them or what?Where are all the wrecked SRT-4's ;)
It's amazing to compare the factory gauge to a real guage. For example, when I have -20 on the real gauge, it says -7 on the factory gauge. When my real gauge says 0 I can have -4 or so on the factory gauge. And, when my factory gauge reads 13-14 (as high as it will go) my real gauge...
Stock exhaust manifold and O2 housing, unported wastegate...Reading off an Autometer gauge tapped into the usual spot. (stock gauge says 14psi but we know how those are)
1991 Talon FWDK&N Filter. Untouched mass air sensor. 3" pacesetter downpipe, 3" dynomax straight-through, dumped under the car.I floored it in 3rd, 4th, and 5th, boost was pretty solid at 10.5-11.5Shouldn't I be getting some creep?
Okay, got my 3" exhuast on, and the car pulls pretty hard.Problem? The car just SINKS back, big time. Taking the weight off the front end, and giving me lots of tire spin when I boost in 2nd gear!Granted, it is cool seeing the car just squat on throttle, but I'd rather have it stay flat...
I've put 255's on a couple 1G's and they all ran fine.Everyone said they would run a little rich so I cut the MAF's up on some of them, but they've worked great either way.
I live about 2 hours from them, have bought from them a few times, they ship fast and everything looks good. I know some other guys who have bought from them also and had no problems.
