That would more than likely be the culprit behind the freeway overheating. Do a search on here regarding freeway overheating, and you will see the fixes that will help. Basically...the FMIC becomes an obstruction for airflow to hit the radiator, which in turn causes temps to go up. To help lower...
Im also looking to get my head done pretty similar to what the original poster wanted to have done. With the amount of oil Im blowing, I doubt my seals/rings even exist anymore at this point!Basically just a head stockish rebuild, as I am on a T25 for now, and dont really plan on going over 300...
Just wanted to give an update guys. I installed new bumpstops, the most progressive I could find and did not cut them at all, and honestly the ride difference is night and day. Now while driving, and especially going over big bumps, I do not have a jarring feeling and the ride is actually very...
Hey guys,
Does anyone know someone familiar with DSM's? I live in Pittsburgh, and am looking for someone to chase down an electrical issue that keeps popping my A/C fuse preventing me from actually using it. I wish I had the time to dedicate to tracing the issue, but I'm not good with...
Hey guys, I ordered as Fuel Injector seal kit, and have no clue what the one O-ring is . In the pic, its the one on the bottom left that has grooves on it. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Charlie
Hey guys,
In my quest of getting A/C back in this car, I went to put the A/C belt on, and realized that I definitely think I am missing the A/c tensioner pulley, not sure if you can see in this picture. If it is this part I'm missing, I wanted to check and see if it is interchangeable with...
Hey guys,
(Mods, please move this to whichever forum is appropriate, as I'm not sure which one is) So, I had my timing belt job done a few months ago, and today I got a new timing belt cover to install. When looking at the marks, I noticed that there were two different marks on the exhaust...
Hey guys, I numbered the parts below that came with the kit, as I am still confused what parts they are as far as the chart shows. Any help on letting me know what part corresponds with what number on the link is much appreciated!

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I am confused now though, looking at the strut mount kit I got from RockAuto. This is what I got http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=1284453 but when I look at the diagram on http://www.machv.com/frsustandsp.html I am unsure if I have an extra piece in...
Hey guys,I've been out of the game for a while, and some of the old websites I used to purchase parts no longer have them. I'm looking to buy Part #40418 and #40146 (the big rubber piece). Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Charlie
Thanks for the help Steve. Ive been trying to find bumpstops for the 2G the last 20 minutes, but I cant seem to find rears, and the ones for the fronts that I do find seem to just be universal.
Hey guys,I posted a similar question in another thread about this, but didn't want to clog up that thread. Basically,I saw this posted and began to wonder..."ACM said: ↑
You two Koni users - have your bumpstops been cut, and if so, by how much. The more they are shortened the worse the...
Hey guys, question....
I cut my bumpstops per the instructions for my Koni Yellows matched with the Eibach Pro-kit. If it is true that the Eibachs always ride on the bumpstops, would I be better off ordering some new bumpstops and installing them uncut? I am all about comfort in my old age.
Thanks for the help guys. I wouldn't be surprised if like mentioned the bolts are super rusted. Question, I have the lifetime alignment there, is that something that shops typically charge extra for if the bolts are seized?
Hey all,So, I had my alignment performed at Firestone, and I was out of ways to express my disbelief at the results. I have a 1996 Eclipse GST, lowered on Eibach Pro-Kit springs with Yellow Konis with RRE's camber kit for the rear(longer bolt and washer style) Upon picking the car up...
Gotcha. I think I phrased my question incorrectly. I am trying to figure out if on the shock itself, are there 2 different perches that the spring can sit on for the FWD Koni yellows?
This is exactly what I was looking for before creating a new thread. I had my Koni/Eibachs installed, and noticed that the rear driverside is definitely lower than the rest of the car. When looking at the strut, the spring sits lower on the shock, than the other three, and I was just beginning...
What exactly did the Trans servie consist of? Could be a few things....incorrect amount of fluid, bad solenoids, bad tcu, etc... Are you throwing any codes transmission related?
Bringing this thread back from the dead to order the exhaust gaskets I need. I have the Megan Racing DP that deletes the cat, and am bolting up the Thermal R&D 3 inch cat-back. I dont currently have my car back from the shop to get underneath to check but is this thread saying that the outlet...
How much of a drop are you looking for? I'm not sure how much better the roads are in Ohio, but here in Pittsburgh, anything over 2 inches is going to have you scraping everywhere trying to avoid all the potholes.
Hey guys,
So, I'm getting back into the DSM scene after being out of it for about 3 years (the bug hit me again) and am slowly building up the Eclipse again. Its currently being painted right now a bright white, and I had enough with the God awful roads here in Pittsburgh riding around on...
Yes you can, as stated all you need to do is swap the headlights. Also, FYI any 97-99 2GB GS, GS-T, or GSX bumper will be the same if you are looking for front bumpers.
Hey guys,
I'm back to the site after a long hiatus, and several cars in between the eclipse. I just got back from another tour over in the sandbox, bought an Audi, but in the meantime am back to my love/hate relationship with the good ol DSM. It's been sitting for a good bit, so I'm doing...
I vote for stock tails, and either stock headlights, or projectors without halos. To me the halos are pointless unless you drive around with just your parking lights frequently. Once your low beams are on, you wont even be able to notice them on.
No, you do not have to be a U.S. citizen, but must show proof that you are in your current country legally. As far as the Reserves, you just receive your monthly pay. However being that you are looking to go to school, there are other pays that you can receive with the Reserves. If you are in an...
