I know how to adjust and set the timing when the car is running, but how do you set timing when the car doesnt start? I think that when my timing is adjusted properly my car will start. Thanks

Ok I'll try every plug for spark. Also I did make sure that the wires are in the right order. They previously were not. How do you check timing and adjust the cam angle sensor if the engine isnt running?

I bought my TSI with the hopes of fixing it. The prev owner said it prob needed an ECU, and his mechanic replaced the coil pack and Cam angle sensor. I pulled the ECU and indeed it was bad. I replaced it with a good one and it still didnt start. But now the fuel pump hums and I hear the relay...

Guys,FOR A TSI AWD 5 SPEEDWhats the difference between the 90 ECU and 91-94 ECU's? Are there some wires that are in different positions? Are the 91+ EPROM? Do the 91+ ECU's physically fit in 90 cars? Thanks for the help.
