Ok well I just bought a tsi awd and the headgasket it blown on it. Well I live 400 miles away so I need to tow it back. Only way I can do that(that I can afford) is by dolly. So I'm going to need to disattach the drive shaft. I looked under there for a bit and it looks like you can easily do...
Ok so I finished my 6 bolt swap(third one i've done so not a problem) and relocated the battery to the trunk. Try to start it and nothing. I have power and for some reason when I turn it on, the left turn signal starts flashing for some reason. I thought maybe it was the battery relocate so I...
Well I'm having this problem where I can't disable the alarm when I unlock my driver side door. I know its not the peg because the lights come on. I just got my wireless remote working and it also will lock fine, but it won't unlock. Any ideas, places to start? thanks

Hate to bring a thread up from the dead but I'm trying to work out the kinks on my swap. I never had to jump any wires to get the car to start and reverse lights really aren't a concern to me. I'm having a very strange problem where when i push the clutch in I get a click noise from the back...
Hey I'm finally getting my car back together nd was wondering what you guys with the 2.4strokers runnng for ignition timing? Should I keep it at the stock 5 degs, or advance it some. I'm running a Holset HX35. Thanks
=Jason-
Thats on the list but getting her going on the street comes first. Yea its a HX35, put the WG accuator in a different spot for more clearance with the Koyo radiator.
=Jason-
Yep oil pressure sender, I don't like it just sticking out there but I rather have it there because thats the first place to lose oil pressure.
=Jason-
Well I bought her from Dave last late summer for 2k with two bad wheel hubs. Drove her from MI to ND where she basically sat for quite awhile. i build turbo kits for zx2's and that basically took all my free time. Well now I've had some time lately and she's getting close to being done. Let...
Well theres no relay panel to the left of the one of the pic. There is a panel thats on the same board as all the fuses. BOTH my blower and defroster don't work so maybe its the panel itself. I'm just trying to catch this before I have to do some wire chasing. Should have done this before I...
Its solid pink wire and black wire, just a two pin plug, the wires aren't very long. Thanks for the quick reply on the relay. Would you happen to know how to test the relay? Thanks
=Jason-
Ok after tearing out the terribly installed car alarm I notice that it looks like I'm missing a relay. The first picture shows the relay. Next question is that I took the dash out to paint and after it was back together I find this plug with nowhere to put it to. You can't see from the...
I only go to Autozone for cheap parts. I know first hand that 90% of the employees are idots. I use to work there and everyone just followed what the computers said which was sad. I had to quit it was so bad. Don't take their advice, one guy at my old store gave bad advice and ended up...
I have a bullseye housing for my holset hx-35 and in the process of swapping engines and what not lost the bolts and metal pieces that bolts the exhaust housing on the turbo. Wheres the best/quickest place I can pick these up that? Bullseye is totally different now so I'm not sure if I could...
Ok I'm finishing up my auto -> manual/6 bolt swap. Car runs fine, I can drive it around no problems. What problem I am having is that this isn't working:
No power seats,
power locks and windows,
no heater, ac
Lights will occansional stay on
Horn stays onI checked the fuses, had some...
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00917288000Anyone hear anything about it? Not that bad of a price especially since you don't need a compressor. Thinking about trying it out and if it doesn't work, hell Sears takes anything back.
=Jason-
Id say go for it.
I have my own little turbo kit shop. Started two years ago with building a turbo kit for my other car Ford ZX2. Showed some pictures of it online on a zx2 forum and people liked it, i offered to build kits for other and its just boomed from there. Now I'm bascially...
I'm trying to find the specs for the cylinder head. He needs to know if it can be resurfaced again or if its already decked too much. I know I should take it to a dsm shop but things are picky up here in ND. So does anyhow have the deck width and how much can be shaved? Thanks
=Jason-
How long ago would be considered an "early" turbine housing? Also any of you guys know where you can pick up just the hx35 compressor housing? I kinda ####ed mine up trying to polish it.=Jason-
Like the title says I just bought a 2gb bumper on ebay and it has that damn little triangle. What type of filler would be best to shave that? Im guessing something that flexes so it doesn't crack. Thanks
=Jason-
My rear driver side wheel hub is bad, I mean screeching bad. I'm trying to order what I need and I have the option between just the bearing assembly or the whole hub assembly. The hub is over twice as much and I'm asking can I just order the bearing assembly? Will I need to get it pressed in...
2.4 stroker w/ Holset HX-35wDon't have a spool time yet because as soon as I broke the engine in I hit a deer. Engine/tranny is currently being swapped into a new tsi awd.
=J-
Well I HAVE to get my tsi up and running by next tuesday so i can get to a funeral of an ex gf of 4 years. Only problem is that I was waiting to swap both 6bolt and TRE tranny out of my old tsi into this one and change from at to mt. Obviously I won't have time to get that all done within the...
Its not that it has cracked, its just I'm worried it will. Thanks for the link but I need something smaller than that so I don't know what to do. i've heard of a slipfit setup but not sure how that would work.
=Jason-
Ok I'm looking for some sort of flex pipe or slipon piece to keep my wastegate piping welds from cracking. The big bi*** is its 1.5" (38mm) and I can't find anything this small. This setup is for a different car entirely so theres nothing aftermarket wise for it. Anyone have any suggestions...
There are much better ways to hold your engine up then putting a jack under the pan. For that price and if its quality I say go for it. This type of oil pan is great even for a stock engine. Helps keep oil temps down and even holds more oil I do believe. How can that be a bad thing?
=Jason-
Wow kid do you have something to prove or what?To the orginal poster is there something more specific you're looking for or just a couple pointers? I'm just like you and I always try to get as much info about my project ahead just to be that more prepared. Much easier then if you get in a...
I was wondering if I was the only one like this. I just recently finished my 2.4 project with sonata block and crank, eagle rods and JE pistons. Setting timing I noticed that I could turn the crank a full 360 degrees without hitting the valves. At first I was like f^ck, I bent the valves but...
