i have hood pins already and i am thinking of converting over to the lock and key type hood pins. i was wondering if anyone has them, if they can post some pictures, and their experiences with them. i have a 2g and so the contact area where they go through the hood is going to be at an angle...
i need a new timing belt really soon and i was wondering if its better or worse to get an aftermarket timing belt, instead of an OEM timing belt? thanks.
I made a wallpaper and I call it DSM Power. I was bored and had some vectors left from an art class so i threw it all together...preview is attached. Here Is the full size wallpaper.

I've looked all over the place and i cant seem to figure out what the advantage to a coil on plug setup is. what circumstances would require it? thanks.
Based on what I saw of the site it didn't look like some crafty attack through PHP. If it was through the PHP then it was most likely through one of those pages you made yourself where you might have forgotten the basic PHP anti-hack stuff. Unless vBulletin has some sort of hole in it that you...
Your family too?! Wtf?In any case, Chris - is your vbulletin install up to date? Is there any known security holes in this version that you haven't taken care of? You don't have to respond to that but think about that before you go nuts.
I used to be in a car club with a bunch of members. We did car shows and all that stuff. Eventually people moved away, went to college, or just got bored. Most of us took the stickers off our cars and that was the end of that.Recently one of my friends decided that we needed a new car...
Ryan - You'll see some snow pics this winter ;)Bruce - done anything to the g35? I already put a boost gauge on the STi and I'm reflashing it in December :DYeah a new generation of DSMers are gonna have to pick of the peices from where we left off. Lots of us have moved on. There's a...
Ouch. Sorry to hear that Chris... I doubt you'll track them down unless you have some sort of logging. You could request from your provider some sort of logs then break down the IPs and start matching them up with users on the site, yourself, and people who have no business being in those...
I was wondering when you were gonna show up!Haha, well it was a really close choice between an STi and an Evo MR. They were similar in price but the MR had the leather and sunroof and 6 speed. I went to a mitsu dealer and sat in a regular evo and I was really disappointed by the interior...
I wonder how many other people have moved over to WRXs/STis instead of going to the Evo. I'm also suprised no one asked me why I didn't get an evo since I already know the 4g63 inside and out :PYeah I'll bring it to Pittsburg in the spring or summer. Gotta come down and hang out with you...
Thanks again for the comments.Just wanna let you all know, I am paying for it myself... insurance (ouch.) and all. It is a blast to drive. Towards the end of of my time with the DSMs I got really interested in road courses though and the GSX would have cost too much money to participate in...
I saw a story about some kid in an SRT-4 who did that a few months ago... his friend ratted him out when put under pressure and he got put in jail for street racing and a false police reports and all that stuff.:thumb:
Yeah I know. I've seen the police confiscate cameras and stuff when I was "into the scene". Now I'm a little older, a little wiser, and I've seen way too many people lose their cars over this sort of stuff. Guess it just wears on you over time.Sucks a DSM had to be taken in all of that...
Thanks! Yeah I hated it at first but with the chin spoiler it is "complete" I guess. The STi tranny is bullet proof though... it's those WRX 5 speeds that are made of glass.:thumb:
So when I left I said I was going Subaru... and I did...Just wanted to show you all what it looks like since I got it ;)http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v250/jivemastert/frontshot1.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v250/jivemastert/backshot1.jpgIt's a 2007 STi limited. 1 of 800 made...
It's not all about the straight line peformance anymore though, at least with me. I want something that can handle and won't break on me in 20k miles or something like that. And in the event that it does break, there is a local dealer I can go to as where with mitsu, the local dealers keep...
I believe the input shaft is referred to as the shaft that your clutch and tob sit on? Am I wrong there?Definitely get that tranny out of there and see whats what.
My thermostat went out around 90k miles. They are like the easiest thing in the world to change and cost all of like $7 at your local auto parts store. I'd say just change it and if you wanna test the old one, get a pot of water, set it to boil and toss the old thermostat in and see if it...
You're going to need to take that tranny out of the car. When you put it back together, did you put the clip on the TOB? Did you make sure that everything was torqued properly? Also, how old is the tranny? Be honest - do you beat on it at all?Sounds to me like your input shaft got fubar...
You're silly... I had my mechanic look at it because I didn't want their mechanic pulling stuff out of his ass in order to knock the price down. Everything that their mechanic noticed wrong with the car was stuff that I knew about. I made that abundantly clear when I went there that it had...
Yeah, I don't think I did too bad. I think in terms of market value, I did excellent, and in terms of what this kid was getting, he did very well to. It does have a brand new tranny, clutch, and flywheel among other things. Blue book was only like 4500 or something so I think I did alright.
SOLD! $7700, as is. I got quoted at $280-$300 to do the stuff they wanted fixed so it wasn't worth it to get it fixed and I really dont want to carry it on my insurance for another month. Everything goes with the car, I don't care, I want it gone, and I'm gonna get something new later on down...
Umm, that's a uh, friend's.I was going to say "hey, I'll fix it if you give me $8000" but I just dont have the time, which is part of the reason I need to sell it.
Hi, so some of you may have seen that I'm selling my car. I just had the buyer's mechanic look at it and he said I need new valve cover seals among other things, but that in order to pass inspection it needs a new front left strut and a catalytic converter. They offered me $7500 for the car...
I'm sure that's not too far from what happened. Of course the news is going to slam this on street racing though because that's what the media does. It's a sad thing what happened but unless the racers just flat out blew a red light I can't see how that wasn't the other guy's fault...
I put an HKS shortram on my 1997 Astrovan AWD. I believe it was originally from an eclipse GS, but I'm not sure. It's still on there 3 years later and it works fine.I also put in under the dash neons in my GSX, but that was back in the day when I got it and wanted to enter it in a show, so...
