The tigershark engine is nearly the same as the old world engine. The difference they switched from bucket type lifters to the style seen in more 4g63to engines and swapped the intake to the back and the exhaust to the front. The bottomend is the same.
Well I remeasured again using 3/32 on the center diff and the .062 on the input and intermediate shafts. I repeated that three times in a row and came up with .051 on the input, .039 on the intermediate shaft and .057 on the center diff. This is a 92 trans with the early fork design. I think my...
So I remeasured with the 3/32 and got some better readings but the input shaft doesnt seem right. My original shim was .040, my solder measures .057. So even with the thickest shim I found its still only at .0005 preload. Does that seem right or ok preload? The way I see it is if I had .017 in...
Ive changed my shift forks and wanted to set shaft preloads. I used the fsm and it says to use .06 solder which I got and measured with but the center diff and the input shaft are not crushing the solder at all. Should I just use the larger 3/32 solder and remeasure? The intermediate shaft shim...
I have the basic cobra big brake kit. I personally love it. It stops on a dime and will hold the car on any amount of brake boost. I just have standard $20 parts store rotors with a set of loaded calipers and standard pads. I believe there bendix pads. They do make a little noise sometimes at...
U should be able to pop the end case off. Take vc off and detent ball for output shaft and slip output shaft out slip 23 spline shaft in. Then reassemble.
To all u local guys. I strongly recommend nobody use wakeman power across from buschur racing. The owner chuck is extremely disrespectful and didnt do the work i asked him to do. I posted pictures of the o-ring job, and also talked to him and he said he would replace the o-ring. I drove all the...
I was hoping that you would know. Damn. I called a few other local machine shops, they said that the ring should be budded together. I called the machine shop that did the work he also said the same thing at first. Now he says let me check. Wtf. Im so aggitated with this guy.
Shouldnt all the gaps be even? Its hard to tell by the picture but that gap is about a thumbnail and the others theres really no gap. Is there a minimum or maximum gap on something like this. Im just afraid to put this head on and have it leak.
I just got my head back from the machine shop. I had a valve job mill and o-ring done. While inspecting it the gap in the o-ring on one cylinder seems to be alot more then the others. Will this create a sealing problem? I have pic for some reason the upload button is not working on my mobile...
Yea like i said its a really shitty situation. I asked his tech about another head and he said to bring it up. So i go all the way home and get the other one and come back. The owner goes " hes got another one for you its going to be the same thing right? And its dirty too and im not working on...
So i called a local machine shop awhile ago about getting my cylinder head o-ringed. From the beginning he wanted me to do a valve job just talking to me on the phone. I told him i didnt really want to and he said he would do whatever i wanted. So yesterday i took it up there and his guy pulled...
Im transplanting it into a 92 talon along with oringing the head and new headgasket. Also got another transmission going into it this year. Waiting for a buddy to weld my cage up then ill finish up.
Its going to be a great time as it is every year. This is my favorite event to go to. I never miss it. All though i see the drag racing part i alway miss the dyno day. Hope to make it to that this year. Im so glad this event is so close to me.
I run the napa specials with some bpr8es, gapped to below what a gapper can show LOL. 35 psi on e85. I have a weird misfire at about 8300 rpm, thought it was valve float until I changed the valve springs and there was no change.
Two things. What ever happened to the pulleys turboglenn? Also what ever happened to the resistor inline the sense wire so we can just run the wire right to the back of the alternator?
Well all the teeth are still intact so were talking about a high mileage trans that has been beat to death. Sinchro rings have been shot since the first time i pulled it out just didnt have money to rebuild it completely. So im going to put a fully rebuilt one in this winter.
Yea bone stock transmission. And yea it was leaning out up top but have since figured that out, i just lowered the boost some lol. I think i was running out of fuel a bit.
Blew transmission again. Wtf. Im done for the year. I bought a new used shell 92 talon that im swaping everything into this winter along with an 8pt. Cage.
Are the injectors in your profile current. And what fuel are you using? Btw congratulations. 9.9s on street tires was my goal this year but unfortunately i broke the trans again. So im done for the year. Curious what the d-box cost you?

First three runs this year were at the shoot out. Two were bad runs with end result of 11.68 and 11.69. Best run started to break up in forth and shifted to fifth still breaking up ended up with a 10.57 @ 137.
Nice. Great runs. I missed the 10.02 run. I left early. the trans was giving me problems and its pushing coolant again. Very frustrated. It was nice meeting you and justin. Its cool to put a face to a name. I got a new personal best of 10.57@137.
