I would get a boost gauge first. No if, ands, or buts about it! Don't take a chance just because you couldn't wait a few more days to get a gauge. I have seen too many people ruin their cars because of impatience. Better safe than sorry...

From what I've seen and heard, the Greddy is about the quietest. The Thermal seems to be about the growliest (is that a word?), then the Apex is about the loudest. Most of the ones I've heard have a testpipe and 2.5" downpipe on them.
