I pulled the valve cover and all the rockers are intact, so im pretty sure the timing is good, im going to take off the tire and check it out 100% today tho.-Geoff
My car was sitting for about 4 months with no use. The other day a friend and i went to start it up and drive it around. It was hard to start at first but eventually started. It was running fine but i let it idle for almost an hour and i noticed that the engine would just die every 20 minutes or...
Threads like this REALLY frustrate me, no offense to the original poster, but kids who buy N/Ts, rice them out, and expect them to be fast, are exactly that, KIDS.It makes the whole dsm community look bad when someone takes an N/T and makes it look fast, because as we all know, NO N/T is...
Im Kenny-Rogers, welcome to Jackass.Kennnnnnyyy, i heard you blew your timing belt last night. Call me up 650-544-6020. I know some places to get it fixed cheap, and i think its time for some porting. :sneaky:
Ya man i hear ya, i screwed up last quarter also, i didnt know that wyotech was soo close, thought it was in wyoming, maybe i should look into that. Anyway, keep in touch.By the way, whats goin on down in the south bay?
Very wierd, sounds like something in our transmission, but the oil pressure light is someting that needs to be addressed, dont drive the car with your oil pressure light on. Thats asking to blow your motor.
Your best bet would be a simple tune-up.First id start with:1) Spark Plugs2) Fuel filter3) Cap & Rotor4) PCV Valve5) Spark Plug wires (if you think you need them)-Geoff
There are a couple ways to remove fuel pressure:1) Unplug the fuel pump and let the car die. (there is a big plug located under a bronze plate in the driver side hatch area.)2) Break one of the fuel filter bolts loose and let fuel spray out until all pressure is gone.3) Let car...
WOW man!!I didnt know any of this, congrats on all that. Its good to hear that a friend is moving up.
Doesnt rent suck though! Where is wyotech? I thought you were majoring in business?-Geoff
It really depends on your setup, but in all honesty, you really dont need a 3" o2 housing unless your making over 450hp. In that case, its still questionable.
I have the DME kit and let me tell you, it works well.Yes, you can install it and not adjust it, just remember to take it to get it aligned in a week or so. I drove around with no camber kit for over a year and man, my tires didnt last at all!Plus alignments are only like $50.
HAHAHAHAAH LMAO 200WHP All motor!!!! HAHAHAHAASell it and get a turbo or buy a 5.0 if you want all motor. I have more respect for modded econobox civics then i do for modded N/Ts!The Slow N/Ts make the AWD Turbos look bad. Thats why we get labeled as ricers, when its really the NTs that...
The ONLY difference between the 1g and 2g translator is the plug. IMO, save some money and use the 2g mas setup its good to 450hp. More than youll ever see with that 16g anyway.
Its no coincidence, when the fans come on, the stft goes down, when they go off, the stft goes up. Im wondering if it has to do with electronic draw and the change in voltage.
There is an O2 trim buddy, its called FT02, its the trim that changes based on o2 voltage value. Please dont respond if you dont know your head from your ass.
Got a small problem, maybe some of you have had this problem before, the car idles perfectly with o2 trims of about 125%, but as soon as the fans come on, the o2 trims drop to ~70%. Any ideas what this is from? It also sometimes will randomly just not start.-Geoff
HAHAHA, i wonder if they did this on the 7 bolts and not the 6 bolts. Would explain a few things, but thats funny as ####, im glad my engine is all built and there is no mexican bean shit in it.
YOUR FRIENDS ARE CORRECT!you cannot fit a 2g mas w/ an air filter on it on a 1g, if you have the stock fmic piping and you are using a 2g intake pipe.the only way to make it fit on a 1g is to buy a special intake pipe from dejontool or the like.
Thanks for the input guys, ya, i am looking for a good budget tire that has around a 280 treadwear.Ive pretty much already crossed out these:1) Kumho 712s (Bad Bad Reviews)
2) Falken Azenis ( Wears too fast, R compound isnt necessary)
3) Kumho ECSTA MX ( Low treadwear )So right...
I got 165K miles on my stock tranny, and she still shifts perfectly, except for some grinding when shes cold.Anyway, I think we need to motiviate the Bay Area DSMers to come to the meets, i was thinking something along the lines of some hot women.Hehe open to suggestions.
Im getting new tires soon, I plan on mostly street but occasional strip, both drag and autox. Which do you feel is the best all around with wet traction and treadwear in mind?1) Kumho Ecsta 712
2) Fuzion ZRi
3) Yokohama AVS ES100-Geoff
Ya, it ran a 15.76 w/airaid intake and gibson exhaust. Its my tow-vehicle, i use it to tow my talon's and mustangs to the track, i just happened to be at sacramento raceway and some guy in a '05 hemi truck wanted to run em. I raced him and it was DEAD EVEN. I also beat a ricer in a CRX w/ a...
