I posted a thread about this back in march and never got a reply. I was wondering if the automatic trans cooler that is built into the stock radiator would be a sufficient cooler to be used as an oil cooler w/ my 90 air/oil cooler? And if not how big of an oil cooler do i need? I dont have the...

Im looking at buying a 93 laser RS auto. the car runs and drives but after the trans warms up it will not shift into any gear until it cools off completely. I was wondering if it could just be in need of a fluid and filter change? Ive been told it could be that, or the TCU, or the torque...

    auto to manual trans swap

If you have all the tools and parts on hand there is no reason u couldnt do it in 1 full day. I have done 2 auto to manual swaps w/ the motor out and it only took me a couple hourson the second one. The brake pedal assembly is the hardest part so do that first and then after that its all...

Is it possible to use a transmission cooler as an engine oil cooler?????

I have been told that it would depend on what kind of connections you are using from the hoses to connect to the cooler. I have been told that just a hose w/ a clamp on it probably wont hold enough pressure seeing how the oil press. in these cars goes over 100 psi and most transmissions dont see...

    1g ebay IC, Pictures inside

Hey what about the people using the GM MAF? (such as me) I know one of your other buddies is using it too, im surprised he hasnt said anything about it unless he doesnt use it anymore. I dont wanna order a kit and then have to hack it up to make room for my 3" MAF. :talon:

Hey, car looks sweet and news of the kits sounds great. Jus a suggestion so that people arent left out, you might wanna include a piping kit option that uses the 3" GM MAF sensor in the uicp for a blow thru setup. I know I will need that kit when i am ready to purchase mine. If you need to get...

    6-bolt swap 1g non-T water pipe?

PB Blaster or some liquid wrench might help. It wont hurt to try. The stud thats droken off in mine is the one all the way to the left when u look at the front of the motor. Like I said, it doesnt leak or show any sings of leaking, but i understand you wanting to get that outa there. Oh yeah...

    6-bolt swap 1g non-T water pipe?

You have the correct water pipe. I forgot about the water oil cooler setup. I use the air oil cooler setup too. As for the broken stud, if its only one you can leave it in and it wont hurt anything. The gasket will still seal. I have a broken stud on my head exh. side and it doesnt leak out of...

    6-bolt swap 1g non-T water pipe?

The 1g n/t water pipe does not have the water line coming off of it for the turbo, so since u dont need water lines to go to ur turbo that should work jus fine for u. :talon: :thumb:

    air/fuel gauge only reads lean

Well, from my own hands on experience w/ my own car. My a/f gauge stays in lean until i drive it. It can be warmed up at idle and still say lean but as soon as i start driving down the street it starts working. Maybe you have a different problem but thats my 2 cents. :talon: :thumb:

Questions in regards to 1g head removal

Yes, you will have to remove the pulleys. The 2 pulleys bolted to the water pump (held on w/ 4-10mm bolts) that the power steering and alternator belts route to and the main crankshaft pulley (4-12 or 14mm bolts). You gotta remove the motor mount on that side too. Take the cooling fan on the...

    Gm MAFT?

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I didnt mean to glorify the SAFC as a much further advanced tuning device, I just think that one would have to know a lil more about fuel curves and things like that to use and understand the SAFC to its potential as opposed to the simpler one click knob...
