Im asking this question for a friend that owns a 95 Talon TSI. The overdrive always worked pefect until last week. Then while on the highway it started jumping out of overdrive and popping back in place. Now it is getting worse and the engine just revs when the tranny shifts into over drive...
I have a 95 Talon TSI with only a K+N Cone Filter and all the free mods. I just bought a test pipe to replace the converter on my car. Will I notice a difference in power? Pull? Are there any dyno figures on this mod?
thanks everyone!
I appreciate all the info. Just one more question,, Can the side strikes for the door and rear quarter panel be purchased from the dealer and installed on my 95? or is the door different...thanks for everything!
I have a 95 Talon TSI and prefer the look of the newer 97 styly bumper cover and raised rear spoiler. Will these just bolt on my car or does per say the front cover require a different inner support ect. Mine is torn and needs to be replaced anyway.
thanks
OK, Im looking for opinions on what to do with my 2 cars. I have a 1990 Talon TSI AWD 5-speed, 160K miles with a seized engine. otherwise a clean car. I also have a 96 Talon TSI AWD (automatic) with 250K highway miles but just as clean (if not cleaner) as the 1G. Id prefer to build a 5-speed...
Hello everyone. I just picked up a 96 Talon TSI AWD "automatic" to run for the winter and use as a second car. I plan on getting another DSM in the spring to Mod again as Ive owned several of these cars. For this post I wanted to see how many other people have extreme high miles on a Turbo AWD...
yes, i will definately run speed density, all the tuning shops have expressed the advantages of this route and the elimination of inline air metering devices that restrict airflow. To my surprise they also mentioned the MAF translators and GM MAFs dont give huge results over stock. at least not...
thanks guys. my mods are air intake, 3" downpipe, no cat, 3" complete exhaust, RFL BOV, walbro 255 with hardwire kit, larger fuel line and fittings from pump to fuel rail. aftermarket fuel rail, 650cc injectors, adjustable FPR, EGR blocked off, EVC set to 17PSI. Magnacores, and i always run...
IF i install a AEM EMS on my 91 Eclipse, download the base maps and get the car to idle. and then bring it to a tuning shop for a full throttle program,,,, how much tuning is required for the rest of the powerband? I dont need it to be perfect but want the car streetable of course.
thanks
I did extensive research years back on the G60 Corrado. I was going to buy a low mileage one and do lots of upgrades. I was steered away from this idea when a local tuning shop had one to experiment on. the owner was rich and said he was going to "OWN" the local street scene with this car. well...
FYI: I have dealt with titles many times over the years and have had a few cars myself that i was stuck with without a title. Keep in mind whoever has the title in their name owns the car..... Period! He can write up documents and sign them all he wants but in the end he still owns the car until...

I noticed that John Shepards 8sec Eclipse has the all wheel drive unit welded for equal 50-50 power distribution to the front and rear. Has ANYONE else tried this. IF it improves drivetrain strength without reducing driveability drastically i would probally do this! I just dont want to have it...
I am purchasing a AEM EMS for my 91 Eclipse. I decided to go stand alone as i plan on building a 10sec. car over the next couple years and dont want to spend money twice or run out of options with whatever i buy. I have 2 questions on this unit.First: how well will this system work with...
I know the engine will swap easily into some other cars. If you pop the hood on some Hyundai cars from the mid to late 90s, you will see a engine that looks just like the 4G63. I belive it is a 1.8 version though. Probally the same idea as what came in the 89 Mirage turbo... but without the...
