When my first hx40 went I was told it was out of balance.
I got it from a previous owner so not knowing the history I couldn't really say whose fault that might have been.
Bought a brand new one straight from holset and put it on.
POS is out of balance too and fragged.
I will never recommend...
Was out driving it hard tuning it and it died while driving.
Restarted it and it ran for another minute and died again.
Restarted it a few more times and it drove for a few seconds and died.
Left it along the road and walked home to get something to tow it.
Came back and decided to start it...
Right on the driver fender by the schrader valve where it goes from metal to rubber the rubber swelled up and popped!
So the line was hot before this and the compressor had to be working to do this.

I've never seen anyone do a rewire like this. I used the black/green stripe wire under the center console and ran a wire from it to the fuel pump.
I know this that stock wire eventually gets to the fuel pump, but I don't know if I am bypassing anything important in between.

My power windows won't work and instead of being something simple like the fuse or relay, its not getting power to the relay from the small blue/red stripe wire to trip the relay. I apply power to that wire and the relay clicks over and everything works. So were does the relay, more specifically...

My 92tsi awd bottomed out on the frame a lot on the rear control arms. I thought maybe because it was lowered.
I finally get a chance to look under it and the control arms appear on upside down.
The gentle curve in them is curved up toward the frame and not down away from it.

Got Eibach lowering springs and KYB shocks on my 92 tsi.
Not something I would recommend. The rear control arm is about 1 inch from the frame and any bump makes it bottom out. Looks like it's cutting in to the frame. I'd have to get a better look but I don't know if there's anyway to fix this??
Shop gets the 92 for a simple alignment of the rear.
At which point they proceed to break off the bolt on the control arm near the center of the car.
They put penetrating oil on the other and that nut comes off.
Now as I understand it this is some special bolt that is flat/keyed on one side...

I could feel it happen at the top of 3rd. All of the sudden no power.
Did a compression test and got 160 100 0 160.
Put oil in the cylinder with 0 and it's still zero.
This would lead me to believe it was a head gastket.
The motor never overheated though.

Had a 14b and I completely pulled the vacum line so it would boost as high as possible. It only went to 16-18psi. I figured it reached it's mechancial limit. Now I have an evo 16g and it does the same thing. It won't boost any higher and I know this turbo can.

Ok I got the timing belt crank sprocket off with a homemade puller, now the balance shaft sprocket behind it has no holes to screw the puller in to. How the heck does it come off? I want to take the whole cover off to get the rear balance shaft of at some point.
