I did one on sunday :D , leaking air from the tb shaft seal pretty bad. When I increase the pressure to 20psi it falls pretty quickly to 15 then a little slower 15-10psi and then 10-5psi is slower and it hangs around 5 psi for pretty long. My initial thought was that I had a boost leak the whole...
I think I may have possibly found something interesting... comparing 4 back to back logs of when the car ran great, I noticed an area where the a/f ratio humps from 3700 - 4800 rpms, that is the a/f ratio goes from 10.4:1 to 11.1 back to 10.4, during this time period. What is interesting is that...
Just bought new plugs and wires, BPR7ES gapped to about .029" to .030". Didnt fix the problem. it seems that the problem is consistent at the same rpm during back to back runs, it starts at about 4200 and ends at 5000.
ECU+ is reading normally, havent messed with those wires. Im going to check a certain loom of wires in the engine bay and maybe even try new plugs and wires. I will post back later tonight. I did some searching and found some others with the same problem, the car sounds like a machine gun when...
Yea I think Im going to have to try that Monday or something ( tomorrow is mother's day hint hint ) I also forgot to add this important part If I go part throttle, timing advances normally and is much much quicker.
I took the harness that runs along the top of the intake manifold ( coil harness, injector wires, Crank sensor wires) that huge loom of wires and routed it under my intake manifold out of sight. I did the same thing with the harness that comes out of the bottom of the battery, I just re-routed...
no these runs were 1 day apart after I did a small wire tuck and yes I have a fmic. I thought it might be rich knock as well but the great run puts out 50 hp more and has a very very solid torque curve compared to the bad run and they both have the same A/F ratio. Ill also add that I have a PLX...
My talon was running perfect, better than its ever ran since I've owned it. Then I decided to clean it up a bit and do a minor wiretuck. Now when I go into boost at WOT, I can feel timing being pulled intermittenly throughout the wot pull.MODS:ECU+

yes I am digging up a dead post, but I just went to the dodge dealer to have some ball joints replaced and I saw one of these in person. When I saw pictures of them they looked ugly as hell. Then I saw one in person and I really like them. I am very disappointed to see that they are FWD...
If anyone is interested I have ECU+ and it too can log MUT values along with any other sensor information. But aside from being a great datalogger, its awsome for tuning. The ECU+ [Home Page]

yess I need to move to a state that doesnt have emissions and is nice and warm, and no ### liscense plate on the front of the car either.I might as well give it a shot, Id like to see the rest of the country.lol we've been very lucky this year! we had a snow day 2 weeks ago and another...

Thanks for the reply Wret! I just have one more question. Knowing that even without spacers it will clear the arm fine, is there a way to determine how much room I have to play with on the fender side? like say I want to run a spacer to make the wheel closer to the fender to make the wheel...

I have seen cases where the spare tire well was cut out and a new piece was welded to cover the opening. These were done with racing in mind, however if you have a good insurance company and trust them , you can remove the spare tire and well and just cover it with a flat piece of metal and do...
Make sure you watch out for that loose nut behind the wheel...seriously though, losing weight will help you get there easier for cheaper(take your pick you, the car or both). What type of engine do you have now? If you want a track car, 2.0L seems to be the main choice, however if it is street...
It kinda reminds me of the mazdaspeed 6. The unit works pretty good, except when multiple runs are done back to back, they tend to heat soak. A few of them have water to air IC's positioned there however. I was also linked to a thread from the MS6 guys, to the suby forums where an Sti swapped...
I am having the same issues, but the effects are much worse, its actually vibrating enough to be caught by the knock sensor and you can see my knock voltage increasing with RPM. It never used to do ithat before. I have the Evo 3 O2 housing and an ebay Downpipe ( 2.75" inlet and 3" outlet ). I...
I have ecu+, it suits my needs fine. I have a 97 and I didnt feel like giving my left nut trying to find a 2g eprom. There is only one thing I dont like about ECU+, its that you are only limited to 780cc injectors. But I probably wont be there for a while. so it works for me and by that time Ill...
lately I have been having a problem with the throttle response. When i am sitting at idle and press the gas to rev the engine, the revs will drop about 200-400 rpms then finally jump back when I hit the gas. It seems that this could be tps related but I just adjusted the tps to where it should...
Just look a little harder on the rear diff. its near the top of it. Or you could always bust out the original window sticker and check that, I have mine but its in rough shape
Good Luck, I had to have a shop cut my axle off because the splines were frozed inside the hub. Good thing I was replacing my wheel bearing.also at the time my talon had about 55K miles on it.
I was thinking the same thing based on what I heard. Where would you find this gas at and what would be the a/f ratio that you would tune for with this stuff?
you must not be able to read very well as my profile clearly states that I have a 97 tsi awd.and Yea that dyno run was terrible, that was when I was bone stock with just a 14b and thats it, plus it was on a mustang dyno where Another guy with a b16g, fmic, fuel pump, injectors and safc only...
First thing I would do is explain the problem to the vendor and tell that what you wanted in the firstt place and they should be able to accomodate your request since they messed up. If they wont, you might want to see if you can get a refund for the manifold and try someplace else... Thats...
I think he means that the power steering pump leaks and it falls to what right under it, which would be your alternator. Very good point by BUCK, make sure if that is the problem you get that taken care of first otherwise it wouldn't make sense to replace the alt. first.
Did anyone else find the kid from the video annoying?I bought a used clutch last year actually. It had 1500 miles on it and came with a fidanza flywheel for 175. Its a sprung 6 puck with approx. a 2300lb pp. I've heard good testimonials about it and I cant wait to finally put it in. moral of...
I realize the 2g head is designed better, but I have a cyclone intake manifold that I will be installing next month and I need a 1g head to match the ports. Plus I suspect that my 2g head is warped.
yea Im going to upgrade after this upcoming summer without a doubt, I just want to see how fast I can go on an all stock long block (depends if you count the arp headstuds :) ). Then I might look into a nice set of 264/272 's
Ill just use my 2g cams because they probably have half the mileage...
Pretty soon I will be doing a head swap and replacing the timing belt and all of it components. I will be swapping my 97 2g head to a 1g head (unsure of the year). I'm looking for opinions on what to do with the cams. I can either run the 2g cams in the 1g head, 1g cams in the 1g head or have 2g...
Holy Shit! Thank you, someone actually posted real results for all the nay-sayers to see. Obviously this manifold isnt for maximum output, but for those that probably wont be using a SMIM, its a nice upgrade over the stocker, improving driveability.+ 30 ft/lbs is pretty minimal eh?
probably more than $400 but you might want to upgrade your tuning system to DSMLink or something similar, in which case you'll have to save longer, but you'll get better reliability and control out of your Dizzum. ECU+ is also a good tuning system. Actually, if you get ECU+ (www.ecuplus.com) you...
I really like it especially because I have a 97 and I dont feel like having to look for and shell out $250+ for an eprom ecu plus what ever it costs to socket it. I just wired mine up last summer and had it logging in an hour. My favorite feature is that it is constantly being updated. All you...

because you're mostly stock, from my experience, I would say its the front O2 sensor. My talon was pretty much stock and I was having the same difficulties. My suggestion: check for boost leaks first then check your O2 sensor.
Nice, I was considering a hobbs too but I'll want to change the rpm to fine tune it to find my max TQ or HP gain out of the manifold. also I upgrade the turbo, because they flow different at different boost pressures. How do you like your cyclone thus far? Mines just a bunch of parts sitting in...
I havent used DSMLink but Im sure it has a CAS inversion so that you can use his ECU in your 97, correct me if im wrong.
However, He will have to buy a 97-99 CAS sensor. The 95-96 use a CAS that is read off of the cam gear, while the 97-99 use a CAS that is driven by the intake cam on the...
http://roadraceengineering.com/1gcasin2g.htmthat will give you all the info you will need to take a 1g cas and make it work on any 2g, whether it be 95-96 or 97-99. I also have a friend on here that has done the swap and hasnt had any problems at all.(JJBrasil)
