If you can list the bolts up and down then you can remove the head. Just make sure all brackets and such are out of the way as you have less wiggle room with the bolts still in the head. The gasket is probably holding the bolts from coming out.

Also (which I forgot) the 6 bolt and seven bolt engines have different timing marks on the oil pump cover. That will cause you problems also.
