Leave it in, just on your test pipe get a bung welded in so you can retain your O2 sensor man...its easy to do and doenst cost too much, plus your DSM will be all the happier for it...
You would need a Logger of some sorts as well man...But you all forgot the biggest reason...Chicks DIG the display's man...it's why I got my S-AFC...:D
If you wanna take them somewhere any local garage can and should be able to do them for you...As far as you fixing them, its not a hard job, but labour intensive...Really strait forward...Here is a link that may help you out...CV Shafts/Boots
ooooooooo, Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen he will be here all week...:DAs far as the smell goes, purchase some vent deodourizer...we sell them here at our parts stores, so in the US Autozone of similar should have them...Use the product as advised and go from there, if it still smells like...
Yes, but it comes down to your launch man...I am confident you can pull a very low 14 second pass...Practice your launches at the track to see what works best for you, and try different tire pressures and what have you as well...
I dont think its an HP increase...its more of throttle response...When you step on it it will feel stronger and respond quicker...plus sound a whole lot meaner...
Those injectors should be ok for lower boost applications...but man 660's are for sure the way to go for the 20G, atleast...I may go bigger when I upgrade this season...
14B not G man...and other than that are you using the stock guage set in the Tach, cause just like the Supras man really dont tell you much, its an estimation based on the air flow and revs, by your ECU...please invets in an Aftermarket one just to be sure, and then lets see what boost you are...
For the bag of marbles type sound...when the car is idling, check the crank pulley, I know when my started to separate (common problem) it soundsed really weird, and as the revs climbed the noise died down and stopped...The pulley if starting to go, will wobble instead of running true...
I have a cyclone now...also dont forget to swap over the throttle bodies if you plan to keep your DSM emissions legal...Here in Alberta we dont so I kept the JDM T.B....I did get the one with teh 16G on it..BUT it only comes with 510's, not 550's like ppl think...But eh, whatcha gonna do...
Remove the intake hose off of the turbo inlet...(please have the car siting overnight thought, some ppl forget it gets HOT)...stick your fingers in and grab hold of the shaft...Oh god, its turning into porn...And wiggle the shaft around a lil, there will be some play as there wont be any oil...
There is a member of this forum with a 2G spyder which he converted to AWD...i think if you performed a search you would at least get his user name...IMO I think it would be honestly better for the wallet to sell your GST and get a GSX, but thats up to you...
Most times I use my hand and a lot of elbow grease...but I have the thing that fits onto theend of a ratchet and its like this cap thing that fits ofer the end of the filter...and it twists it right off...
Thats a decent price for the MKIV Sidemount...I mean most of the work is done for you...I am currently running a Supra Sidemount on my 20G and it works like a dream...
On the Cyclone Manifold, I know cause I have one and parts are a pain...They mount under the manifold...Well more along the edges on the manifold on the drivers side...rig up a bracket to hold them there...My set up came with everything I needed so they bolt up like they would in Japan...
IMO as great as everyone elses advice is...and I know I will prolly get flamed for this as well...Start off with the regular stuff, get the car up to spec, make sure all the regular maintenance is done, tune up, filters and what have you, then make some power...
I took mine off, yes it does keep that valley a lil cleaner...As well as prevents any oil from your oil cap from seeping down into it...Also I have this notion, and I am prolly wrong...But I think it holds in heat, so I yanked mine...Although i think its mainly there to make things a lil...
I am currently running a MKIV Sidemount, and it rocks man...I decided against teh FMIC cause of adverse conditions up where I live for most of the year...Instead of that I/C you pick up, see if you can get rid of it and go with a Supra Sidemount...they are a lot better, unless you only want the...
Purchase some orange wire looming stuff...you know that plastic that the show guys slip over everything to colour key it??...That should do it for you...other than that...I think ViTek made a whole array of colours...I just dont know applications for them...
Thats the same one that I used to run...it sounds really nice...a deep throaty growl is what I had...But it really comes down you your piping more than the actual Muffler IMO...Gave me that sweet DSM vrrrrooommm...Chicks dug it...
Having used a Bosch, NGK and a Denso...I really found no difference...and that was with my 16G...I do prefer the Denso for 2 reasons...One, I work in the parts industry and I get them at a wicked price...and 2, when I order one from Mitsu up here, thats what the lady gives me...So yeah...
Just crush a few millimeters...and the benfit is that it increases the spring rate in the BOV therefore allowing it to hold a few extra psi of boost before leaking...
Although I have gone with a entirely custom set-up I have a few friends up here running the THERMAL 3 inch and its really quiet for a 3 inch...Surprisingly quiet...Yes a Cat will quiet things down, but you can invest into a Hi Flo Cat, and they do a good job with emissions as well as keeping...
Injectors, Fuel Pump (for any snail upgrade), exhaust if you already havent...I would recommend an S-AFC to kinda dial in those injectors and what not...I would recommend getting a 2G manifold as well even if not and EVO III Manifold...Thing is I KNOW I missed something I just cant remember...
Aside from removing the fog lights which is a good idea and adds to the sleeper look...Consider removing your splash shield from teh inner fender, or modding it up for more air flow...Open up the lil vents or remove it all together...
soaked it with a penetrating oil...and PLEASE go to a parts store or a tool retailer and get the O2 Sensor Socket...makes thing SO much easier and doesnt risk busting the sensor...
Hi...When I transplanted my JDM engine into my DSM I had a hell of a time trying to get the Manifold to work...Did you get the little white canister with your engine?? If so, you should be ok...I basically just ran a vac line to the actuator for the Manifold and have no problems...To...
I am a little bit confused by what you are asking...it wont go "PSSSSS" when you rev, but when you rev and lift off the throttle as any BOV is supposed to...Now I am not super familiar with the 2G BOV set-up, but I do know that the 2G guys swap out for a 1G or similar BOV...If your curent BOV is...
