I'm looking for a full black leather seat set for my '90 Talon and I want to increase my chances of finding seats by finding out what cars share the interior, or at least the front seats with this car. If anyone could let me know, that would be great. Thanks!
Shep, Shep, Shep, and Shep. Before you look further, go with Shep. After you are done wasting your time looking elsewhere, go with Shep.I loved my Shep tranny. It treated me sooooo good. I am sure it will make another person just as happy for years to come (car was parted out just...
Yeah, lithium is the shiznit. Sony's been all over that for all of their portable media for years. However, I just sold my DSM and all related stuff for a forced induction DOHC V-8 car. It's a lot more affordable than 600hp worth of lithium and I can finally have a full interior and A/C...
Hey, I have an excellent condition 4-bolt rear that I pulled from a low mileage (40k miles) '92 that I put on my '90 which I am now parting out. Email me at [email protected] for pictures and pricing. Thanks!
Esibnitsud, bummer deal man. Looks like what happened to a friend's Talon a few weeks ago. Best of luck getting her fixed...no frame damage right?I'm in Moscow. Just got my fully built Talon up and running on the AEM EMS this week. I have a dynotuning appointment at Dynoauthority in...
Proud owner of 1g 30-1300 EMS #149Car is up and running strong @15psi with the AEM 5-bar MAP, GM IAT, AEM UEGO WB O2Motor is:

After much deliberation, I went with the 50 trim. If you want something bigger, get the 60-1. Anything in between is a waste IMO. The 50 trim makes much more sense than the 57 since the 57 isn't really good at anything...it yields not much more power than a 50 trim, but spools much slower...
Keep in mind that the stock crank pulley is something you probably should not replace. It has a harmonic balancer which helps balance the entire moving mass of the crank, flywheel, etc. while protecting it from vibrations caused by the combustion explosions of the motor. Underdrive pulleys on...
Nah, don't listen to him :p I had a fuel pump problem, but the real problem was an engine harness had come loose. The EMS is the shiznit :cool:I use all stock sensors except an AEM 5-bar MAP sensor, GM IAT sensor, and an AEM UEGO wideband O2 sensor/controller.
IT RUNS!!!I feel like the biggest idiot...there are four harnesses in the dash area...three go to the EMS and one goes to a relay thingy. Well, to make a long story short, the relay harness somehow became disconnected which carries things such as fuel pump signal, cam/crank grounds, etc...
Thanks for the tips.It turns out that the groun on my CAS harness was hot so I have a short somewhere that must have come around when I took the old turbo kit/ECU out and before I installed the new turbo kit/EMS. Hopefully tracing the ground to the short and a quick re-ground will fix the...
It seems the lack of this girdle has not stopped anyone from making over 1000hp with a 6-bolt setup. I have yet to see this with a 7-bolt.I keep seeing you post about these 1g 7-bolt motors and I keep asking why they are better than the 2g 7-bolt motors (although they are the exact same...

Remember, the blimps used hydrogen gas. Hydrogen in vehicles would be a solid that is very very inert. Two completely different things.Ryan...yes, hybrids are a bandaid. Think outside of the box? Manufacturers use hybrids because they are able to use current engines with...
Yeah, we're all so scared of new technologies :rolleyes:Its going to take a lot more than technology to make a 4000lb. car with 470hp very fast...like breaking some laws of physics. Mercedes does this, but with upwards of 600hp in their AMG cars. The problem is that if Mitsubishi is...
Yeah, I have a ghetto thump stereo...actually, no, I have a nice stereo system because I love music and I drive thousands of miles on road trips which gets quite boring without a nice stereo. I remove the stereo when I go racing. But thanks for playing. You saying only kids have nice stereo...
Blah blah blah, you sound like a hippie. :pIt is still 4000lbs. which is A LOT; are you smoking something? 4k is TWO TONS. That is close to a full size truck!!!!! Not to mention it is pretty much unmoddable. Just about as useful as a 3g DSM :thumb:BTW, I'll put $10k down on a race...
Yes, you need to bore out a block to fit 0.020 pistons...otherwise they are too big. A 2.4L is usually a 4g64 block, but some 2.3 stroked 4g63's are bored out quite a bit to come pretty close to 2.4L.
The car looks decent, but it is dumber than poo.Weighs over 4000lbs. AWD, but the rear is an electric motor, the front is some stupid Mitsu motor.Mitsubishi's only thing going for it right now is the EVO. Period.
Oh, so that was you, lol. Well, can't blame them for making their site work safe, even though I am sure 100% of the people there enjoyed it, heh heh ;)
Hmmm...the EMS is MUCH bigger than the stock ECU, at least with my '90. You may have trouble trying to fit it back there. Right now mine is just hanging out in the passenger footwell for easy access. There is an interior trim piece you can remove to get a little extra distance out of the...
How many have you built? What are the specific differences between the 1g 7 bolt and the 2g 7 bolt? I mean that is great if that is your personal opinion, but as far as I know the 1g 7 bolt IS the 2g 7 bolt so there is no real benefit of one over the other.
I just installed an AEM EMS. Here is the timeline of events:August: Installed new race motorSeptember: Drove car around with race motor but with old parts (SAFC, 16g, 550's, etc.) Ran perfectly.Beginning Late September: Installed AGP 50 trim turbo kit, AEM EMS, 5-bar MAP sensor...
Considering that almost none of the big-name tuners that put down more power than anyone here will ever dream of with 1g 6 bolt motors have no issues.First you have bad motor design=7 bolt motorsSecond you have bad motor assembly=everythingI could be wrong, but isn't the 1g 7 bolt...
I think non-wideband A/F gauges are worthless.Having said that, one of you guys that likes to be distracted by flashing LED's can buy my Autometer cobalt A/F gauge ;) :p
Good info!I bought an 8mm hex allen socket to put on my ratchet-worked great. Cranked it off with a 2 ft. galvenized steel pipe I bought at Home Depot. :thumb:
My oil feed line kit that came with my AGP turbo kit specifically fits up to the oil filter housing with the supplied 90degree fitting. What did yours come with? And how long ago was it?
Did you happen to upgrade to V1.11 from another version? My ECU was loaded with a V1.03 calibration and I was trying to monitor/tune it with a laptop loaded with V1.11 which supposedly will not activate the fuel pump, rev limiters, etc. UNLESS you do th conversion to V1.11 which is easy enough...
Yes, take it from the oil filter housing. Get either an M10 1.25 pitch allen head plug for the head or an M10 1.25 bolt that is no more than 10 thread lengths long and use one of the copper gaskets from the old banjo bolt to act as a gasket for the new bolt when you plug the hole up.
Oh no, I got a really really really great deal on the whole package, but now that I am so far into modding this thing, getting deals is nothing compared to getting a sound, reliable unit. I am at work 'til midnight and using the time to research Autronic :thumb: Thus far I am not finding a 1g...
I believe with the Haltech's you must wire everything up manually. Not so bad...just really a pain in the butt over a PnP setup. DSMlink is not available for 1g's, right?I'm going back over my CAL files tomorrow to see how the fuel pump is set up...hopefully it is a simple file change, but...
Give ANY of those V8/V10 powered cars in the C&D article some drag slicks and the tables would have turned. Traction was a major issue there. Of course, there is an EVO that runs 9.7's though. ;)My guess is that EVO was getting hunted down hardcore toward the end of the 1/4 mile.
With a 16g, 550's, SAFC, FMIC, 3" exhaust, and 2g MAS I was whooping up on all sorts of N/A Cobra's, LS1 F-Body's (some lightly modded), etc. Learn to launch well as well as driving in general and you should have no problem. An LS1 F-Body is definitely going to hunt you down towards the end...
Amen brotha. These NT guys come out of the woodwork like they know a thing or two. Maybe they thought this guy was trying to get his NT to beat an F-body and did not realize he has a turbo DSM? :p
I was rerouting some wires in my engine bay and the wire that attaches to the power steering pump just detached from the main harness loom, lol. Nice! :rolleyes:I'm no wiring genius and I do not have my FSM nearby...anyone know what this is? It is the little yellow wire that has a cap on...
Yeah...by properly, do you mean it would spool too fast, but have the same power output as it would when mounted out back? The remote mount is on the whole an inferior idea. Cool, especially for vehicles that are hard to fit turbos under the hood, but inefficient compared to underhood turbo...
Ummmm...BS? :thumbdownJust because the intake is far away from the engine at the bottom of the car does not mean it does not need an intercooler. Non-intercooled turbos are for Chrysler vehicles of the '80's...any wonder no one does that any more? So, what makes this special Garrett...
