While a good idea I'm not sure if anyone can handle the scale there are over 1,000,000 posts. 134,000 threads.Maybe we start with the important sub-forums; gen tech, advanced, electronics. And split it up by date, each person take a different month, or set of days. then zip the files and...
dsmtalk hisory continued:
It shut down about 18 months ago (fall '04).
It came back in 6 months after being bought by ekool. It came back pretty noobed out. For sale sections, many ads, arcade, silly rules, anyone could register, but at least it was back, and the old data was saved. Some of...
i got it! use this proxy:
http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www.cgi/http://www.dsmtalk.com
it is kinda slow. if it doesn't work just use another proxy.
here is a list of other free proxies
http://www.freeproxy.ru/en/free_proxy/cgi-proxy.htm
yes...big letters are cool.
however it is NOT back for everyone. Also there is no reason to believe that it will stay back. We need to find a valid solution to backup all the data.
Well the new dsmtalk was like that (new being since ekool boughtit a year ago) old dsmtalk was very tech based. The main reason i like it was the catalouge of info going back 5-6 years. Some great stuff there. Tuners seems to have gotten alot better in the last 2 years. Anyway, it seems the...
Not sure; can you try another persons PC? reboot? erase temp files, cookies? Go to your school or library.Yes ekool was online in dsmtalk for about 10 minutes. Now he is off. I PMed him, no responce yet.
On the local phil dsm forum one of the moderators (colonelfox) said he was given no warning and many poeple there are having trouble getting onto the main dsm site; just like here.http://philadelphiadsm.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4334
I'm not sure what the problem is. I am on there and have a thread going about this issue.
How do I post jpeg screen shots on tuners? I can put up some pics of the site just to prove it's there, if you want.
www.dsmtalk.com is working for me. And it brings me to the old site. With search working, old graphics, old ads, good speed server. Also my posts on dsmtalk are NOT appearing on the autoforum site; or vice versa.try using firefox rather than IE.
I'm posting on it right now...not many other people there though kinda spooky.
here is a link to a thread, try that:http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147817maybe reboot or clear out your cookies.

Even if it is a shadow of it's pre-etool self it still has mountains of good archives. Does anyone know of a way to backup that data? For the moment dsmtalk is running again, including search and all the old threads.
Well the reason they bought it was for the userbase. If we can make the userbase go away, or become hostile and spam the hell out of any new threads...we might make them change their minds.
Yes you should. If he did sell it there is nothing he can do. At least you can find out how much it went for...Maybe we can get it back.Based on his myspace he seems like a chump.Maybe when modified realizes that they made the worst marketing move in history they will sell it back cheap.
I may have found Ekoolhttp://www.myspace.com/ekoolHe is in the same small town in NM that Matt M has his shop in. And they are known associates. Also he mentions he is into "drag racing".also note that he has a supra " hows tha supra (poo-pra) doin my man?" Ekool from dsmtalk also had...
If anybody feels like sending a note to our friend ekool:
from a fellow dsmtalker:edited... looks like i had the wrong info.Ekool and Matt M are somehow acquaintances, but I'm not sure how anymore.
here is an interesting post about them...
more info:
verticalscope owns modified mag and autofuroms.com. Here is there contact info:http://www.verticalscope.com/contactus/contactus.htmlI this all those people need to get some emails and phone calls from a bunch of us.looks like our best buddy ekool is still has his dodgecharger...
Maybe we should start a email campaign to modified? A few thousand emails might get them to change their minds. Anybody know what scale of money a forum like this goes for? How many zeros are we talking about? 1K; 10K; 100K?Also the site comletely dead right now...must be flooded.more...
Boiling water at 200*?? Why do want to boil any water? That seems odd, as many people inject water into the UPIC or TB elbow. While you seem to want to boil it (why is gaseous better than liquid??). Also how is the coolant temperature going to have anything to do with the intake track...
It's not that hard to weld AL. I'm not sure how thin walled this pipe is, but any decent machine shop can weld plate AL. The only people that will have trouble are small shops and DIY people that don't have the proper tools.
me109 used the Daimler-Benz_DB_605.
Inverted V12; it was one of the first to use fuel injection, im pretty sure it didn't use n2o.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daimler-Benz_DB_605i think most WW2 fighters used V12 configuration, the me109, p51 mustang, etc...
That 195% VE is with the turbo right?I didn't any N/A engine could get very high above 100% , maybe like 105% with perfectly tuned headers and intake track.
I would never spend $250 on a scanmaster. For 80$ you can get a palm and datalogging wire on ebay. Add the freeware MMCD and you can read all the things you mentioned (no G-tech feature).250$ is a major ripoff.
yes, i have. You would need so many to make a difference that the power draw would be immense. You would have to add alternators just to power it. Also you would need some way of cooling the hot side of the peltier (also known as a TEC). So add some big heavy metal heat sinks to your IC...
Exactly. If you are going to run that turbo where it should be run you will need bigger injector. To supply the big injectors you will need a big fuel pump. That big fuel pump will over run the stock FPR. So get all three: injector, fuel pump, AFPR.
I agree, one day it all clicked, and nothing was scary anymore. Now I have no worries about trying new stuff on the fly.I remember when i did my first tranny swap (1st big thing besides oil/spark plug changes). I planned it for like 2 weeks, printed out tons of info, took time off from...
This thread strengthens my conviction to never get work down by a "local" shop. A knock sensor is a critical safety feature on you vehicle. You should never switch something like that because a shop says its "an upgrade. How is it better? If it's more sensitive then you get more timing...
Not necessarily. Sarcasm on why don't you take off your thermostat completely. Then your car will never heat up at all, engines love to be run cold! Sarcasm offSeriously, the thermo is in there to help your engine get up to temp quickly. With one set too low your engine will just take a...

I would order from mcmaster.coma stainless steel m12 bolt should be a couple of bucks each.(not rated)
or you could get zinc plated steel, for about the same.(class 10.9, DIN 931)
By "pyrometer" I assume you mean an EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature Gauge). It matters where you have it tapped. Is it on the exhaust manifold, if so where on it? Is it somewhere else?In general I would say that temp doesn't sound to high from the other numbers I have heard. But each car...
That is your crank pulley and they are known to separate like that.
here is a search i did, terms: crank pulley rubberhttp://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/search.php?searchid=973108here is a good thread from in that search...
I was able to do this. I jacked up the front pasenger side of the car really high. This helped all the oil go to the back drivers side of the pan. When I took off the oil return I had a small pan ready in case ther was some left at that level but nothing came out. Good luck.
