It's been a very long time since this has been updated. I'm not even sure everything that has been changed since the last time I updated it. So cliff notes are, switched to a boostin performance built billet block, forced performance 84mm turbo, billet Magnus tcase, etc. Probably a ton I've...
It was a forced inductions 76 journal bearing. Switched to the fp DBB 76 and gained quite a bit of spool time. Then switched to their 80, which makes quite a bit more power over both of those 76’s did.
Haven't updated this in a really long time. Switched to methanol, m1 non intercooled. Have had really good success with it. Won the q32 for the 3rd straight season. Switched the the FP htz4580, improved my personal best to 7.71@176. Cut the 8.50 cage out and put a 25.5 cage in. Took The old...
@Mark L, I'm using a factory Moog replacement ball joint. Unfortunately, the 1g ball joints only interchange with like 4 or 5 other models, none of which have a ball joint sleeve available for control arm fabrication. I ended up having to get them custom machined, I too wanted to avoid changing...
Took the car out to a RWYB race, featured cars from Chicago, Ohio, and other surrounding areas. Entered my car in the 8.5" tire class. Track conditions weren't ideal and temperature was in the 40's, none the less won the race and set a few new PB's. Best pass of the day was 5.31@137. Tried to...
Not any good updates, I've been fighting trans issues ever since the shootout. I believe I finally have that figured out now to where it will live again. Last Friday took it out for two passes and everything still looks good. Went 5.57@133 with a 1.44 60' so it was pretty conservative. Making...
Like I said my setup is a little different from yours, I don't believe my pump is available in a inline configuration. Mine is submerged in the reservoir.
The flow on that pump does seem fairly low at 500 gph. I also use a rule pump, but it's the 14a which is rated at 3700 gph. I don't have any experience with running a heat exchanger so it may work a bit differently.
Thanks guys. @Pipnorcali the transmission actually turned out to be ok aside from the debris in it. I sent the converter back to have it cleaned and one of the bearings in there is actually what failed causing the debris. Glad I sent it back now.
@lbz34 I don't use anything to really stage the...
Took my car to the dsm shootout last weekend, had some pretty good results. Car was breaking up the week before at the local track, which was pretty much the only 'testing' on the new setup. Made a 1/8 mile pass Friday night at the shootout to verify that it was fixed. It was, but the car...
Just a small update on the car. Set all new PB's at the shootout. 1.32 60', 5.43 1/8, 133 mph, 8.39 1/4 and 171 mph. Was having problems with getting a useable log from the AEM, pulled a little power out after the 171 mph pass to stay on the safe side. Unfortunately hurt the trans in the semi...
b16edcrxblitz updated b16edcrxblitz's Talon TSi AWDView updates to this DSM profile...Thanks. That wasn't me however it was someone from our group. Should of stopped by man, were never too busy to talk for a minute. Thanks again.
It's been quite a while since I've updated this. The car is done and back together. Made a few changes since it's been updated, straight cut transfer gears, 300M t case, finished the K member and control arms, built a twin scroll manifold and made an aluminum down pipe. Also put a CF hatch on...
It's welded to that steel plate you can see in the pic. I don't recall off hand the inside diameter of the tube. I have both of harbor freights bandsaw's, they work great once you ditch the blades they come with.
That's the only pic I've got of it. I've made a few different ones, I like this one the best. Angle changes depending on collector height, 11-13 degrees generally.
