If they don't have it in stock, lightningmotorsports.com has them and at very cheap prices. I tried ordering from diamondstarmotorsports couple weeks ago and they were out of stock and refunded my money. Just in case they are outta stock.
This thread is long, but I spent $500 on gauges and I do not regret any of it. I was looking around for some autometer gauges because of reputation, quality, etc..... I came across ProSport Gauges. I am not one of those guys that buys gauges to be cool, I NEED gauges for two reasons, 1) NOT...
I also have some advice/questions. Before you put the studs in, put the washer in place, THEN install the stud then the nut. Reason is, once the studs are on, the washers are too large to slide straight down the stud AND clear the valve spring(only on some of the stud locations). Is this...
I just installed an AVCR (had a mbc). All wiring is done correctly. In the instruction manual it shows two different setups, one I guess for stock setup, and one it says for wastegate setup(I am assuming external wastegate). All emissions have been removed and I have an turbonetics external...
Send it to TurboChargers.com in Texas. Free inspection, if you don't want to fix it, you pay for return shipping. I have never dealt with Slowboy except for purchasing some parts that took 3 weeks to get delivered(will never order from or trust my turbos with them again, I think they know...
Whats up everyone, you can add me to one of the few 1G's left in Jax. I don't know any DSMers here, I usually try to stay low key, but if you guys are planning any meets this week or weekend let me know because I am in need of some parts to put mine back on the road. I'm in argyle forest 1 min...
Stock tob bearing is fine(about $25). If your flywheel is NOT cracked or does NOT have bluish, burnt looking spots on it, its perfectly fine(lightly colored is ok), just have a clutch shop turn the flywheel for about $30. Look at all the springs on your clutch, including the thin metal between...
No substitution for the right tools, almost : ) . I am assuming you are trying to take out the inverted hex bolt? You actually need the hex socket because it's in there pretty damn tight. I recommend buying quality tools, but if you only need the hex sockets just for this then you can get...
DO NOT finish assembling your engine. Find out if its been ground, worse case, take the crank and/or block out and have the machine shop examine it for you. Guaranteed crankwalk if you assemble it as is. If you are lucky, the crank has been ground and you just have to buy oversized bearings...
Check the cables(cut the SOFT rubber boot at the ends and see if the cables are broke/kinked/frayed), this will cause shifting issues. 75% of my shifting issues were because of this (replaced many cables, but that's because my car is older with more mileage). I've had other problems AND...
13s isn't really a goal. Budgetwise, intake, exhaust(2.5" or 3"), mb controller, 1G BOV(for your 2G) are mandatory first ugprades. If that gets you close to being happy, grab a used 14b, if not, a 16G will do. Everything else is optional unless you just happen to have extra cash.
I say fix it, sell it, use the money to mod the stock dsm you have now. If you're asking whether to keep or sell then you really didn't want it to begin with and it'll just be a headache.
Just my opinion (bought a 95 GSX $200 and sold for $1500 as is, with crank walk).
Just a quick note to not overlook, if you plan on disassembling the turbo, use some white out or a paint marker to mark the compressor housing AND center cartridge for EXACT clock position on reassembly (ressambled mine without marking, got it close, but close means taking back apart again).:thumb:
