Is there any specific soap i should use when prepping my leather seats for dye? On the can it says "wash with soap and water", bust doesnt recommend and specific types. Would i be ok with dish soap, or should i use somethign else?
Ok, so im finally finishing my interior, and i want to change the color of my seats. I would go get them re-upholstered, but i dont have the money for Katz-skinz or something like that. I figure SEM dye or somethign of the sort should work well. How many of you guys have used the SEM dye...
FIrst off.. i don't want to hear anything about taking them off for good, or whatever. I enjoy neon, and im going to leave them, so if you can't help me or have something constructive... don't reply. With that said..I have a little problem with my Lite-Glow underbody neons.I've had these...
My starter is on its last leg. I went to the dealership, but the part guy gave me two numbers, and said he didn't know which one was the correct number. He gave me 4672108AB and R099667MThe car is a 1996 eagle talon TSi AWD 5spd. Anyone know which one is correct?I searched online...
We have hydraulic lifters. Sometimes they tick, especially in the winter when its cold. Try running 5w-30 oil through it during the cold weather, it should alleviate most of the ticking noise. As far as valve problems... i would do a leak test to see if the valves really are leaking. If they...
If it just needs to be rebuilt you can get a rebuild kit off ebay and do it yourself. If it needs a new compressor wheel you could probably find a small 16g wheel on ebay without too much trouble too.
I just replaced my headgasket and when i put the cam position sensor on i noticed the plastic bracket was cracked, but i figured it would still be ok. AS luck would have it when the engine cranked over the bracket broke and the sensor fell into the cam gear. Needless to say it got torn up pretty...
What is the name of the sensor on the 7 bolt engine that bolts to the cyl head behind the intake cam gear? Mine broke and i need to know what it is so i can get a new one.A part number would be sweet too if thats possible.THanks guys.
I did my plastic peices with dupli-color, and i have had no bubbling or chipping at all.Scuff it up with a 240grit sandpaper, and clean it with a lint free rag and some rubbing alcohol. DO NOT USE ACETONE, it will give you a dull faded finish. I sprayed probably 6 or 7 light coats of paint...
You could probably get a keyless ignition system from GM (cadillac, corvette) or toyota (from the lexus line) and use those keys, starting system, etc etc. It would probably be a bi*** to install but would be pretty cool if you could.
Alright so i've seen posts about stuff sounding like this a million times, but i think i have a different problem. Mods are : intake, intercooler pipe, 3" exhaust and evo3 16g @ 10psi. I never noticed this problem until i put the evo3 on. It's a used turbo, but had no shaft play and spun freely...
I had a very similar problem. My car would stall when i clutched in to come to a stop, and i had an irregular idle. The problem was my ISC, like you said.I just pulled it off, and sprayed up in there with carb cleaner. A bunch of black gunk started flowing out and i kept spraying until...
First hand experience... I have a Thermal, and i love it. At idle its not much louder than stock, but is definetly deeper and more throaty, and when you get WOT it roars. Like i said, its nice and deep and super throaty at idle and WOT. I get compliments al the time from people, even muscle car...
A leakdown test would tell you if you have broken valves. To perform a leakdown test put each cyl at TDC (top dead center) and fill it with compressed air through the sparkplug hole. You will hear leaking exhaust valves through the tail pipe and leaking intake valves by the throttle body...
Checked all the fuses under the hood, those all check out. Battery is a year or so old (i dont remember exactly when it was replaced) and the posts seem on to be making a good connection too.I know the car is getting fuel because when it wouldnt start my garage smelled quite rich. I know its...
So i just installed a 14b on my 96 yesterday. I prmed the turbo by pulling the engine 20amp fuse, and i pulled the plug for the coil. I turned it over 2 or 3 times for 5-10 seconds each. I then plugged both the clip and the fuse in. My car then required me cranking it for about 20 minutes on and...
I dont know if anyone has a link to a page that has part numbers, or has a book of them, but i need a part number for the clamp that holds the exhaust housing of mitsu turbos onto the center cartridge. I seem to have lost the one i had and i cant find it at any autoparts stores. Thanks a lot.
So i'm going to be installing this 14b tonight, but there is a stud stuck in the exhaust housing. SHould i just drill it out and re-tap the hole, or try to pull it out using vice grips and pb blaster? Is there any other way to get studs out?
check out my other thread, there are pics there you can see it in. Its pretty crappy though. I made it too big, so the trim scratched it up when i was installing everything, the faceplate hits in when it flips out.
Yea, you can do that. You will have to pull your center console off enough to get the shift boot of the shifter so you can run the wires through the boot. You can even cut the cigarette lighter attachment off and hardwire it in so you can still use the cigarette lighter. Just remember which wire...
Did you go on the 22nd? The turn out was pretty good. There are usually more high end cars there, but still not a bad time. What car were you in? i was the black one parked with all the other 2g DSMs (next to the silver one and the green one with the white bumper)Did you see all the vettes...
If you notice in my information to the left, I have a 1996. The interior was originally grey, The dash was grey, the doors were grey, everything. I dyed the dash and doors black, so.. i guess i ruined a perfectly good monochromatic grey interior  (notice the color of the seats, carpet...
Yea, we'll see how the airbag cover works. Its been there for a few days, and i havent had any reflection problems with it yet.. i may have to change it to black, i'll see how it feels in a few weeks.I painted it all in one afternoon by working on it pretty much all day. all of the black...
Well, i had an obnoxious red and black interior for 2ish years. I liked it when i first put it in, but i kinda grew out of it. The other day i decided i'd had enough of it, and repainted most of it black with some white accents. It took me about an afternoon to do most of it. I know, i didnt get...
For some wild paint you should check out www.alsacorp.com They have some cool paints.Personally I would go wit a House of Kolors Kandy or pearl coat. Maybe tangerine Kandy, or black with a red or blue pearl. You can do some crazy things with paint. Be adventerous.
You can bleach the white caps for the brake and clutch reservoirs, or just get some billet caps.Use some of that spray tire wet to clean up the top of the radiator, the radiator hose, spark plug cover, factory airbox (if you still have it) master fuse box and vacuum hoses.Any billet...
Nice attempt, but in the end you fell short IMO.I would have used some MDF, as it has better acoustic properties than that glued plywood stuff. I probably would have thrown some vinyl, or at least carpet over top of that bad boy.
