A few sanctioning bodies on the east coast require a belly pan to be used in order to race so I had one fabbed up for my car as well as another friend's car. The shop is willing to make these for anyone that needs one as well so i'm just putting this out there as a reference.Mine is a little...
Took a trip to the track last night on the hurt motor and ballooned converter and hoped for the best! After the second pass, the converter is done! BUT the car went a new personal best coasting before the 1000' to a 9.50 @ 120. 5.95 in the 1/8! The pass was on e98 and 33psi.Can't wait for my...
Took the car out to a local track rental set up by my tuner, KP Tuning, last weekend and had some promising results. My previous best on the old torque converter was 9.685 @ 138 at 38psi.First pass out I grenaded the t-case as soon as I launched. Great start to the day. Scavenged a yoke...
I just got my trans back today and noticed the car will not roll backwards, in neutral, with the car not running. While the trans was out awaiting a new converter, I pulled the trans pump to have it checked (everything checked out), and I also pulled the valve body to make sure the pressure...
I'm looking to log trans pressure going forward and could not find a thread about where a pressure port was on the trans. Are the cooler ports at the same pressure as the rest of the trans? Is there a better spot to put a sensor? Also looking to replace my trans pump while the trans is...
According to NHRA rules I need a battery cutoff switch (sub 9.99) and my battery is located up front still. Where are you guys mounting the cutoff switch in a case like this?Edit......Figured it out. Have to run a Morse cable to the rear of the car with a push lever out the back.

Pretty productive day at the track today. Ran a 9.84@138 and backed it up with a 9.68@138 w/ a 1.49 60'. The converter is definitely slipping so I have an email out to Mike at Sinister...hopefully we can get something figured out.And a quick video....1g Eclipse drag pass 9.68 @...
I took the car over to the dyno for some tuning tonight...once we got the car dialed in a bit and started adding boost we noticed some odd power curves occurring. Please take a look at this graph and tell me if you think anything is wrong. This is plotting engine speed vs speed. As we add boost...
We had issues right off the trailer with the charging system....was seeing voltage in the 11s. I found the issue and gave it a temp fix but that only lasted this one pass. Not bad though. Looking to head back soon.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdZ98eQpcDU&feature=youtu.be
Swapped in some Klotz 118 and was able to get to 33psi before IDCs got high. Not sure if i'm running out of pump or injectors or if my ECU is doing something funny. I have dual 255s feeding FIC 1550s through the stock lines. Considering a KB Boost A Pump to see how well that does. Thoughts...
1st time out to the track with the new setup. Still working out a few bugs but should be back out soon. Need to get the car to come out of the hole harder and get a second pump in it. Trip ended short w/ my oil filter loosening up a little and blowing out the o-ring. I think it's time to get...
Started hearing this clanking noise coming from the trans area yesterday evening. It is only audible at low RPM (idle). When I free rev it, it sounds more like a quick vibration. Converter to flex plate bolts are tight, trans mount is tight. Any ideas?IMG_1945.MOV - YouTube
Hit the dyno w/ Karl from KP Tuning and the guys at PSI Proformance. The car ran out of pump quick but did well. Still need to figure out a few things and get a second Wally 400 in there. 470/320 through the auto and loose converter on low boost and timing. Curious to see what it runs...
Out of the blue, my car is not getting up on the converter any more. It's a newly finished build...was fine yesterday and even today before I loaded it on the trailer. I get to the track and it just sits at 25-2700 and 2psi (after about 13 seconds). Prior to this, it would stall to about 3700...
I picked this rust free '91 Eclipse GSX auto up earlier this year and it's pretty much been on the back burner until October due to a different build I was doing. I finally got my ass in gear and got the car back together. When I bought it, I didn't trust what the previous owner did so I tore...
This one had me stumped. My 91 auto goes dead lean after any shift...WOT or 50% throttle, doesn't matter. If I do a full pull in any of the gears it doesn't happen. I've checked for boost leaks, replaced the pump (which is rewired), replaced the AFPR w/ a stocker. No knock prior to it going...

I'm putting this out there for you guys to see. We're looking to put together a dyno day/ meet for the month of November (probably mid). This is open to anyone interested in coming out! The event will take place at Philly Dyno Works which is in center city Philly. We will be offering reduced...
Fit and Finish
The 40mm wastegate flange is a direct bolt on to any Tial 35mm or 38mm wastegate flange which is a huge plus when upgrading from one of those (which was the scenario here). There were no fitment issues w/ the wastegate although it is a little taller than a Tial (35mm in this...
Well, the alternator relocation kit i've been talking about has finally been released. Myself and one other board member tested fitted the kit about 2 months ago.Fit and Finish
There are no issues that have been commonly associated with these kits (from a different vendor). There is...
I bought the car last November and drove for a couple months and blew the motor. So after nearly 7 months of being apart, i've finally gotten the car together. Thanks to Josh at JNZ Tuning for the motor build up, Jim at JM Fabrications for all the quality parts, and Brent (91tsiguy) for...
I just got back from a two hour road trip. On my way home, I started hearing a vibration coming from my driveline. It progressively got worse. Then when I pressed the clutch in, it got WAY worse. By the time I got home, it sounded like my car was about to fall apart. Under hard cornering...
So I've been without a car for 3 weeks now! ARGH! My daily driver (2003 Civic SI) got stolen about a month ago. THANK GOD! ....to make things worse, my 1G broke down a couple of days later....go figure! So I took it down to Mike at Slowboy Racing for a fresh engine build and a couple of...
