I bought the Buschur Racing in line MBC earlier this year after using a few different ones over the years. I am definately impressed and will never use another type again as this thing works flawlessly and unlike other mbc's there is'nt as much guessing where your boost is set without having to...
It will not hurt to drive it like that but your turbo will let oil past the seals and will be blown into your intercooler. Just make sure your oil level stays topped off until you fix it. It probably dont leak bad enough to even have to worry about topping it off very often but you still want to...
My old 3" Buschur exhaust is the best sounding exhaust I have heard on a 1g. It was quiet but deep at idle and when the throttle opened up it sounded mean as hell. I even had a 60 year old guy that seen me race an ls1 camaro tell me that my car sounded better than the camaro. He was suprised on...
I read that part. Im just giving you some s%#t. 18's would be hard to get any descent 60ft's with. Im sure the 16's and hoosiers will be a lot better. Why Hoosiers and not bfg's?
quit spending money on adding power and spend that money on traction. Those 60 ft. times make me cringe. Get some stiffer springs, shocks, and some bfg drag radials and you will be running well in the 12's. Im sure you realize this already but I figured you needed someone to
e-slap you in the...
Did they work after you first did the swap? check and make sure all the wires are still connected good and like I said before, try replacing the bulbs.:thumb:
check the terminals thet plug into the lights and make sure they arent corroded or anything. Could also be the bulbs themselves. I know its not likely both of the high beams would go out at once but I have seen this happen before, recently actually.
congrats on the new time Andrew! Glad to see you are getting that thing down the track in one piece again. Now go get a good intercooler and run some low 9's. Buschur racings new intercooler is pretty bad ass. If you have the money you definately would benefit from it.
I know this thread is a little old but I just seen it. First of all, the 1990 shifter cable is not adjustable. The only cable adjustable is the shifters side to side cable(thats not the problem). Check the clutch slave and master cylinder for leaking. To check the slave pull the boot off and see...
That is the correct way to find an oil leak but instead of driving down the road just reach over and hold the throttle open to about 3000rpm or so until you see the oil leaking.:thumb:
sounds like your oil pump cover. Also did you put a new oil pump cover on it with your build? If not then it could be your oil pump pulley gear leaking and the timing belt slinging the oil upwards.
I highly recommend shep. I have a shep stage 1 in my fwd and a Shep stage 4 in my awd and never have had a problem with them and they shift butter smooth.
You need to call whoever made your header and talk to them. If they wont do anything for you then I would sell the header and call up shearer fabrication. They are the best at fabricating headers in my opinion and they wont do you wrong.
There was a local that was having trouble getting the car to shift into second. He replaced everything from the slave cylinder, master cylinder, adjusted clutch, bled the clutch about 1000 times and checked his clutch pedal assembly. Finally changed his old synchromesh with a different kind and...
BFG drag radials are great. Not prone to breaking stuff. Not saying they wont break stuff, just saying they shouldnt. I have never broke anything with them.
I hooked up the new express card to the Dell and it connected to the ecu instantly. I guess the toshiba/pcmcia to rs232 combo just isnt the ems' cup of tea. Thanks to GVR4592 and Lunch_Box for posting, I appreciate it guys.:thumb:
Yeah, I selected serial. I got my express card with a rs232 for my Dell laptop today. Hopefully this wiil work. I will let you guys know if it works or not.
I am trying to hook up my EMS. I have the newest version(v1.19) and I am using a PCMCIA to RS232 on a Toshiba Satelite laptop. I start AEM pro and click on connect then turn the ignition on. It just says ECU offline and querying ECU....forever. I made sure I have the right com port selected on...
Nopi is only having for races this year. They have seven scheduled and are looking for the eighth track. here is what they scheduled so far:
March 17/18 Phoenix, AZ (Combined with NOPI Drift Series)
April 28/29 Atco, NJ
May 19/20 MIR, MD
June 9/10 St Louis, IL (Combined with NOPI Drift...
with street tires you want to launch around 3000-3200 and slip the clutch until yuo feel the tires grab and then you can dump it. Obviously the stickier the tires the higher the rpm launch.
Hey Daren, on street tires you dont want to let out a whole lot of air. Especially on low profile tires. Not because of damage to the rim but if you let out too much, the tire will sink in, in the middle and you will actually have a smaller contact patch. This is due to the tires having a much...
more hard work than money. A friend of mine ran a 13.1 with $50 in the car(boost controller. And he couldnt shift real great either. Its all in the know how, all the little free things make a big difference when combined. I am certain with a good driver he could have hit 12's.
850cc injectors will be plenty for a GT30. With the cams, the intake manifold and a good tune you will definately be able to feel the extra horses and in a wider rpm range.
try blleding your slave cylinder a bunch. If that doesnt help you probably need a new slave cylinder or master cylinder. If the clutch engages right off the floor then you probably need to adjust the clutch pedal.
Hey mike, mine is doing the same thing in 2nd gear. No grinding or anything it just wont go into 2nd. It only does it at the track when at high rpms. I am going to replace my pedal assembly and hope that fixes it. There is a tech article on how to fix the pedal assembly you might want to check out.

maybe if the stage 2 did only cost $1200 but it dont. This is from his website: This is our street/strip fwd trans. It has all the good stuff from our stage 1 and it also comes...
I like the fact you are choosing to stick with the 14b instead of taking the easy way out like most people including myself.lol. Nice 60ft. If you think you could improve that by just 1/10th of a second that should put you in the 12's. Also how are you shifting? You probably already know that...
The motor mount for the trans is there in the pic. Look closer it just blends in with the firewall. Look jut below the slave cylinder line where it starts to curve and you can see the head of the bolt for the mount.
Ok, I think I know where people are getting the 7.24. Shepherd posted his new time on 7.24.06 as in July 24th. That is how it is typed on his wedsite instead of 7/24/2006 0r 7-24-06. I think the periods are confusing to some people.;)
I had no spark once and I hooked up a noid light and had nothing. I found a coolant sensor was unplugged and plugged it in and all of a sudden I had spark. Coincidence....maybe. Worth a shot.....definately.
What makes you think he is disabling the knock sensor? They said a page or two back that they were getting a couple counts but that was it. If it was disabled he wouldnt be able to say that. AMS didnt trap 140+ in their 1000hp evo when they were spinning that bad, due to the fact they had to let...
I dont think they will sell the parts. They told me rebuilds start around $200. Mine cost around $400 plus shipping. It depends on the damage and what needs replaced.
