I've had this problem where my car stutters like hell around 3000 to 4000 rpm, when at wot or close. I checked the plugs and wires and the cyl 4 wire never seals, and I can pull the damn thing off very easy. It hasnt done it in a while; I thought I finally got it to seal. But recently, it...
As you look at the engine straight on, what is the firing order on the dist cap and on the engine? What is the correct number for the cylinders on the engine and on the dist. cap? (1-2-3-4 or 4-3-2-1 from left to right)I need a quick answer. I just installed magnecores and car wont run or...
I don't think so. An SCC staffer got to do a lap in Michelin's 1997 car and it was a 650hp Cosworth V8. Of course that was a 1997 model. So I don't know about now.And the new Shanghai circuit looked nice as hell. The spaceship disk things surrounding the track were weird but cool IMO...
Everything mankind has learned or accomplished in the last 5000 years has gone into the production and racing of Formula 1 cars. At least that's how I see it.Yes, from what I've heard their valves are lifted hydrolically...Neato.Jake
Actually, depending on the type of paint you use, you can actually increase cooling efficiency with a painted fmic. Some paints will help disperse the heat away from the IC thus increasing the IC's efficiency.Jake
Those are looking like VERY nice pieces. Once the limits of my 1g have been surpassed. The Forge bov looks like the best option. Hopefully it's right up with a Tial performance-wise.Jake
As fast as your car is at the airport or on the street. You'll be suprised how slow it is at the track. I can almost guarantee you'll be in the 18s the first time at the track. I used to think my car was quick for stock; then I ran a best of 16.4 at 85 (not to mention a few other factors...
The reason you've heard of the GT28RS is because SCC. Putting it on their Project Silvia and naming it the Disco Potato made is "supa fly." THey justified it by claiming good spool. Whatever. However, SCC did run consistent mid-12s in it, I think.Jake
I'll post pics up later but as for my setup:3" HRC Downpipe
3" AHP custom test pipe and catback piping
3" RRE resonator (22" long)
3" eBay N1 muffler.Jake
You can get your manifold ceramic coated by FFWD Connection ( www.ffwdconnection.com ) for $100. These guys are DSM specialists so I'm sure they know what temp coating is best for our cars.
When you send them your 95 ecu, they socket it. But if you've already had your ecu socketed, then you still send them your ecu to get the chip put in but you don't need to pay extra for the socketing. You would know if you had your ecu socketed already. What you need to do is buy a used 95...
Now that I look at it, one's not any better than the other. If you're that much of a nickel pusher to call saving $5 a deal, then whatever. The SBR does come with a SS oil line. The RRE kit does not come with a O2-turbo gasket whereas the SBR kit does. And the SBR kit does not include a 2.5"...
I cannot do a burnout at all. I can't even chirp or anything. So of the two choices, my car has a huge problem.I'm in the process of building a leak tester. The only thing I need now is a valve stem and a bike pump. Thanks again,
Jake
I've done all that except tranny fluid. And lowering tire pressure only helps with traction and I don't have any problems with traction right now...No low end.Jake
Yes, I brake-torqued to about 3000 rpm.
No.
Exactly. I don't understand why my car is a full sec slower than what it should be. Hopefully a boost leak.Another thing: My buddy told me that my trap times were good for 15s; it's just that I have absolutely no low end. Would a boost leak...
I have cleaned my IC and the Brode UIP goes on as soon as I can get a hold of a 1g bov. Also, my last two runs were just "put it in drive and go." Can anyone give me pointers on maybe what I'm doing wrong driving my A/T that would yield a time a full sec slower than what it should?Thanks...
I'm not assuming they're bullets or anything. I just thought they were at least mid-low 15 sec cars stock. Also, is it really that hard to launch an auto? Can you give me any more pointers? They way I do it: Left foot to the floor on the break; right foot to the floor on the gas; let off...
First time at the track last night with my 98 GST (A/T), and I would like to start out by appologizing to the entire DSM community. I am a terrible representation of what this car is capable of, and I hope that you can forgive me for installing a bad reputation for our cars that night...
My first time at the track was last night. Only mods are dejon intake and plug wires. Best was 16.4 @ 86. I hope to God that I have a boost leak the size of Texas.
It depends on how the funding sources are set up. To be able to use instant transfer, you must have two confirmed funding sources (i.e. a bank account and a credit card). If he only has a bank account as the only funding source, it works like a check and will take a couple days for the...
FYI: Depending on your funding source, Paypal works like a check. It will take 3-4 business days to clear. After it clears, the seller will actually recieve the money. As far as the turbos, I think the 19c is a couple steps up from a the 16g series but it still not yet the size of a 20g...
No kidding. I can't wait until the tuner world shifts to Hydrogen power. Or until the day when I'm driving a 500hp h-powered turbo rotary (Rotaries are said to be especially good for hydrogen fuel because the engine is designed to where the intake region is completely seperated from the...
Let's not forget IPT. John (transdude) at IPT is the GOD of the A/T DSM world. Forget Dunrite. Forget LevelTen. IPT is the place to go. Sorry. I just didn't want him going to the wrong place looking for info. Thanks,
Jake
You have better cabinets in your garage than I do in my kitchen. :laugh:Oh, and nice job on the new fmic setup. I look forward to seeing it with the piping when its all together.Jake
As of now, I'm sold on the Comp cams. Which set I'll get will depend on what turbo I have when I'm ready for them. Also, I see on SBR's site that Crower has their own 264/272 setup that "replaces" the same HKS setup. If they really are replacements for the HKS's, shouldn't they be able to...
I'm pretty sure that's what he means by '63.' "Do you have a 4g63 (1g or 2g) head?" is what he was asking. If you do then I assume the DNP mani will bolt up just the same. Also, the DNP mani that will work with the fp3052 will be the one flanged for a Mitsubishi turbo as seen here ...
The PTE turbos from extremepsi.com look like badass deals. $1k for everything I need to go from a t25 to a 50 trim. That's what I'm saving up and building up for.Jake
I have KYB AGXs (new shorter style) and Sprint springs (2.0" drop all the way around) and they ride great! I couldn't be happier with them. Total: my suspension costed $470 with all new parts...nothing used.I hope they work out for you.Jake
