an important note - most T4 turbine housings are twinscroll. In my experience, a singlescroll T3 of small A/R will generally spool later than a twinscroll T4 of larger A/R (assuming of course the manifolds are apporpriately changed to match the housing)im in a rush and typing this on my cell...
i havent posted on this site in years, but seeing that youre running this turbo got me excited. That really is an excellent turbo, and was the precursor to the EFR 7670 - in fact the two turbine wheels share identical geometry.. Im not sure if my EFR will be ready by the time my car needs it...
I am a mechanical engineer, and own Full Race. There are a total of 6 degreed mechanical engineers employed here, and we take great pride in designing what we feel to be ideal turbo systems. The majority of the pro import turbo cars at the big name races are using our designs, from the 7.89...
yeah well thats nice, but we still havent cracked one yet. We also use 321, upon customer request. thats not a problem. If i have the choice id rather use 304 or 316 thickwall. Its rated to 72ksi and 3000 degrees, for nuclear/chemical heat exchangers; i think it will work just fine.
As of right now im not making any 4g63 manifolds. If someone is seriously interested i would consider making more, but the majority of DSM enthusiasts who appeared to be interested originally just dropped the ball once it was time to pay. As of right now im just sticking with hondas and...
There is no warranty expressed or implied. If it ever cracks send it to me and ill fix it. I still have yet to get one back, and if i ever did get one back id be MORE than happy to repair/replace everything on it that has failed.im interested in seeing the mustang manifolds/engine bay...
damn this thread sure got some replies...i wantawd: thanks for the compliment, i think some people should read Maximum Boost -- its a great book, every time i read it i pickup another tidbit of info!!!z1500: I work at maxrev during the year but am not a true "employee" I prototype...
one more thing... take a look at a t61 compressor map. That is one badass turbo!!!i saw the GT maps and they were equally impressive, but then the site that hosted them was taken down and i didnt save them =*( anyone got them layin around??
WOW!! great points guys!!well its wonderful to see people looking at the compressor maps and having good discussions, this is far too rare anymore. My opinion on the subject. Look at the 60-1 compressor map, and it looks like crap, no doubt. Try one out. I was the most skeptical...
z1500 -- i would be down if i make any more. i dont plan on it, however. I work at maxrev in mesa so if you guys are bored one night stop by, ill be back in az on aug 22.ducktape -- it is apparent you disagree with me, and it is also apparent you dont understand the science behind...
i asked for a fully refundable $500, in the event that i didnt get the manifold back, this security deposit would cover material costs. I dont know you and i think most of us have been screwed at one point. I didnt think there would be an issue with this. Thats fine if you werent/arent...
does anyone else realize how small that 50 trim is? Yeah the g-pumper did 122, but htat midget 50 trim did 125! FYI a 50 trim is the tiny turbo that comes with a cheesy drag turbo kit. Its the smaller of the t3/t04e family.garret turbos = :D
obviously youre drag racing with that car, you will see a diffeernce. The 60-1 blows a whole lotta air. Also imo those companies puishing the 60-1 wheels inside a tiny compressor, are being retarded. the t04s housing is designed for the 60-1 wheel. Those other housings are simply too small...
If a manifold were to ever fail, send it to me and it will be repaired free of charge. EVER. I have a tig welder at both locations (NJ and AZ) and i will repair it any time. I have yet to get a manifold back, however.
hey whats up.. sorry ive been away, prepping for the IDRC event this weekend proved to be quite a handful -- my car ran but i had significant fuel mgt issues causing a lot of a lot of stress. The ecko car had even worse complications than myself and it ended up being a rough weekend for a...
i would send you a manifold to dyno with, under one condition. If it makes power, you buy it, if it doesnt make power, send it back free of charge. I think we both know that means youll be buying the manifold.ducktape -- we consider 25 psi medium boost. Its not really my place to...
there will be no before/after dyno as it makes no sense. The car is going from a 16g with an s-afc to a t66 with a standalone. No real comparison there. The dyno is at ida automotive, a nationally regarded and hardcore hotrod/street rod fabrication facility.http://www.idaautomotive.com/...
"11.49 @ 121.7 on a t3/t4 with 60 trim and stage 3 exhaust "hell yeah, t3/t4 works really reallllllllllly well on a street car. A t3 stage 3 wheel combined with a 60-1 compressor side is the best combination for our cars from my expereince. i have setup a number of hondas that go low 11s...
Bryan K -- The reason that this manifold can not be made from just "mandrel" bending a piece of tube into this shape is that the material is so thick, it can not be bent. When these bends are made they arent "bent" in the sense that you would think. The are actually started out as sheet and...
The wait time depends on how many i have. I am going to make a batch of 5 more manifolds and not weld a flange on them, waiting until the customer tells me their application.Converting from a mitsu to a garret flange is not an easy task, but it can certainly be done. the best way would...
by the way... the pictures posted were in the final stage of prototyping. I finished the final manifold design today and will get some more pics tomorrow. It looks slightly different, but certianly more refined, and the turbo angle is identical to stock. I will post pics shortly (tomorrow...
For an EGT probe, no bung needs to be welded onto this manifold. In fact all you need to do is to drill a 27/64" hole and then tap it to 1/8" NPT. There is more than enough meat to ensure postive thread engagement. many customers request this and i do this free of charge on any of the runners...
Obviously, a traditional manifold works, and gets the job done. However, there are shortcomings inherent to the cast manifold design and gains to be made by streamlining the exhaust flow and increasing the volumetric efficiency while decreasing pumping losses of the engine.Someone who...
You can see what a traditional thin-wall stainless steel header is made out of, and the thick material we use. Everytime the wall thickness doubles, the strength increases four times, and the wall thickness is 5.2 times thicker...
i can certainly make them using a mitsu flange if requested. I use the garret flanges more often than the mitsu simply because they have a wider variety of compressor wheels to choose from. This manifold's turbo flange is in the *identical* location as the stock manifold. I will take a...
Hey guys thanks very much for the interest in my manifolds. some brief info:This manifold is a medium-long runner equal length manifold with a defined point inside the collector known as a merge collector. This collector combined with the long runner is basically good for a rough...
