While working on my car I noticed the bottom of the oil pan was pushed/dented up into the pan. I'm guessing it happened when I bottomed the car out while coming up a steep hill/apex out of a parking lot during the fall.
Will this be an issue or do I not need worry about it. It's not leaking...
I was changing my O2 sensor, and noticed that a small wire that comes out of a loomed harness (therefore couldn't trace it back) was SUPPOSED to be connected with a tab, to a screw on the oil filter housing, right near the alternator.
The tab was broken in half so I couldn't reconnect it, not...

This is what my engine bay looks like right now, plus a nice polished strut tower braceI was wondering what things I can do to clean it up a bit/make it look nicer besides just spraying it down with simple green then washing it off.[Reduce your pic to a maximum of 800 pixels wide...
Okay, what the crap. The first intake leak tester I made wasn't quite big enough to fit on the turbo without some fuss, but I got it on. When I put air into it, I could hear the air getting into the system, but my boost gauge wasn't moving.
I made another one that fits better, tried it...
Is it possible to get a 1g coil pack to work on a 2g?
I think my coil may be bad, and want to try a working one to see, but all I have on hand is a 1g.
I did an intake leak test last summer and fixed all the small leaks. Now a year later I did one again, with worse results.
When I run the tester off of the turbo, if I put my ear up to the oil cap, I can hear air entering the crank case and bubbling oil.
When I run the tester off of the...
You really really shouldn't be having any leak from the valve cover gasket. Hopefully it's just your valve stem seals. But if you're hearing air from down by your alternator, it may be blowing by your oil filter. If that's the case, you've got some bad rings. Which would also explain the valve...
From what I understood, with that setup I should be running about 18% rich. But if I pull a log with the SAFC zero'd out it shows I'm running really bloody lean. One of the many problems I'm having with tuning the car.
I'm also getting what I think is missfiring around ~5000 rpms wot, also @...
That's one way to do it. With my 1g I just ran it almost straight off the turbo through the plastic splash gaurd on the inner fender, and into the old SMIC location. Less bends that way.
You can do it without taking it apart, but make SURE you blow the living crap out of it before putting it back on the car. Make sure any and all little pieces of metal are out of there.
I'm just building my own. Bought a 10' piece of 3" straight pipe, a 3" U bend (mandrel) and a high flow cat. Just need a muffler now.
Spent just UNDER 200 dollars so far.
Absolutely no idea what you're talking about. There is nothing on the Apex'i website about a 3rd SAFC. But if they do come out with one, I'd imagine it would be the same for every other product on the face of the earth. Things evolve, people have new ideas, new features are added.I mean...
Sounds like the rubber gasket/ring from the old filter is stuck to the oil filter housing, and you're trying to put the new filter/gasket overtop of it. Which would explain why it's not sealing properly.
Either that, or you got the wrong filter.
Just go look at it. If you can't figure it out in 5 minutes, take it to someone else to have it done. It's really not that difficult. A word of advice though, pulling the driverside rad fan makes it a whole lot easier to get to.

I don't know about the others. But in order to get Palm'n'Stein to work, you NEED the T16-003 inteface off of this site: http://www.multiplex-engineering.com/products.htmhad you of actually read the palm'n'stein webpage, you'd know this.
hitting 16 then settling at 14 is a boost spike. Staying at 10psi when it's all the way down is normal. You can't turn the boost down any further than stock (what the wastegate spring is set at ) which is ~10psi.
Try telling them that, I told them that. It's a safety recall, it can be done as many times as needed. They told me what I said in the last post, it's been done, it's not a lifetime warranty recall etc etc, blah blah blah I'm shit out of luck.
It would sound 100x better facing backwards. I don't understand why people always think that if the sub is facing them it will sound better/be louder. With regular speakers that would be the case, but a subwoofer will sound better facing backwards/up, so the sound waves are "bouncing" off the...
Just sell it and buy a fwd if you're that serious about wanting a fwd.
Don't kill a perfectly good AWD because you're scared of it, let someone else enjoy it.
haha, yeah. They'll do it free of charge IF it's never been done before. But since the recall came out 8 years ago, chances are it has been. And if it's been done already, 99.9% of dealers are going to tell you where to go and what to do when you get there.
Which is exactly what happened to me...
