First of all congrats. Maybe you should go take a nap since you never know when your gonna be able to sleep again in the future. Hope the kid doesn't look anything like defiant. :sneaky: :sneaky: :sneaky: :tease:
I'd kick out all the people that designed the 4g and 3g eclipse and bring back Diamond Star motor company and create some sweet cars that look close to the 2g.
yeah definitely
I wonder how people could even pass up this kinda deal. WTF WTF WTF WTF. If it was me i would jump on it. Even if you dont part it out you could sell it for more then you buy it for. It makes me  that i don't see these great deals in my area.
Well cold air intakes are ^$#&@)*% , NO there not, they are &%$^^)&_( well I have 3 more hp than you. WTF
It doesn't matter. It is personal preferance wether you want a cai. quite bickering and either do it or live with all that hot air. In the thread I linked you will find enough...
Here's another thread from awhile ago about cold air intakes on turbo cars http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152189this is from AEM site
Question
Use of AEM Bypass Valve on Forced Induction enginesAnswer
AEM does not recommend the use of the bypass valve on engines...
You could name him defiant :sneaky: :sneaky: lol
few names
1) spark or sparky
2) killer, Jk
3) talon Black roof= black head. He's a 2 tone.
4) First name: Diamond Middle name: Star Last name:mut =dsm
I'm gonna assume you have a N/T since your asking about a cold air intake. If your car is a turbo you might not want to get a cold air intake because it would suck up water.Your best bet for finding stuff cheap is on ebay. If you are indeed a N/T then a cold air intake will help you out.
I fixed my lifter tick for a little while with Lucas Synthetic Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer. Its a additive. I put it in with my new oil and my lifters didn't tick for about a month, then it came back. So if you really want to get rid of it for good don't use that stuff. :sneaky:
Take a logger and and see what your o2 volts are at. 50% of the time people don't check there o2 sensors because they think that they last as long as the car. Check this first, the volts should fluctuate between .01 and .09, that is normal. Also have you done anything to your car recently...
First of all start with shocks and springs. According to your profile you dont have any suspensions work done. Get this done and a good set of sticky tires and you'll see less wheel hop. You really only need a lsd if your gonna drag race all the time. ;)
My car leaks where the windows touch the roof. It shouldn't leak were the roof attaches to the top of the front window or in the back. Just check it out with a hose if he'll let you. As for the starter problem i dont Know. Best of luck to you.
The only mod I would do is get awd. If you plan on your car having around 400hp your gonna either need 4 wheels turning or a limited slip diff and slicks to keep those wheel on the ground. Can we say wheel hop. Buy a AWD and put all those parts into it. I would if i could. :sneaky:
I once saw this carbin fiber hood that had a red candy color tint to it. It looked sweeeeeet. :thumb: I think you should paint it but make it so you can still see the carbin fiber behind it.
Hey if you need a car to bum around in till your other one gets fixed and if the price is right go for it. AWD is better but FWD isn't as bad as they make it out to be. As for the Gas, you could probally get by with just filling it up with say 93 octain and it would run. But take into...
You could check the compression.compression test other than that, just make sure it runs right and like you said change the gas. you probally don't need plugs just to make it run. if you buy the car do all the maintenance before modding. If the engine ticks its normal for DSM's. Good luck...
If you dont want to get ripped off by the dealer for a o2 sensor since they are like $120-140, just go to pepboys and get a generic one and wire it up yourself. They work just as good and only cost about $50. just my 0.02 cents :thumb:
My o2 sensor died on me and it was dark grey colored (oil), so white doesn't mean dead. Do what he^^^^^ said and check you o2 volts. They should jump around between about 1 and 9 volts. Why do you have your o2 sensor out anyways. are you putting in new exhaust or what
WTF, this isnt spam. The one thing that is different between this guy and defiant is this guy doesnt make smart ass comments. ROFL ROFL ROFL We all love you defiant  jk
Hey a couple fellow Minnesotans. I think we should get some dates together that we can go cruise or do something. If you guys are doing anything send me a pm :thumb:
Heres one for $129.99 scanner
Here is the website of the companyauto xray
I have the easy scan 6000. Its the top model they make. You can scan any vehicle that has a computer with this one. For your needs i thinks the AutoXray EZ-Read 1000 will be fine for you. I love these scanners, they...
what. I do that all the time. Come on who doesn't, your not cool if you don't poke you friends with your mothers diabetes needle. There is something seriously wrong with some children now a days. Hopefully they did more then :nono: to her
The only way to check if your o2 is dying is to use some type of scanner. If you have a datalogger you can use that, if not then you need to have somebody scan it with a diagnostic scanner. When you do this look at the o2 volts. They should jump around between 1 and 9 volts. This is normal. If...
when does this happen? when you just start your car up or after its been running for awhile? Also it could be your o2 sensor but since you car drives fine during normal conditions that probably isn't the problem. 1st off, is your check engine light on. If it is, then you should have someone scan...
This is also why your car wants to die. Your car is running rich if the recirculation hose is not on. This is due to the fact that the MAS air flow sensor is reading a certain amount of air that is going into the turbo and adding fuel accordingly. If you dont have that hose on then you leak...
This same thing happened to me some time ago. It ended up being my o2 sensor. so you should start with that. You can get a generic one that you wire up yourself for like $50 at an auto store or you can go to mitsubishi and get the factory part which cost about $120. One question for you. How...
It doesnt connect to anything, mine looks the same as yours. Make sure you dont touch it to any metal when your car is running or you will blow fuses since it is missing the case. Believe me it has happend before. just cover it up and zip tie it out of the way. I think its a relay but i'm not...
Look on ebay, you never know if the guy is stupid enough to sell it there. since it is missing the turbine housing it should be easer to pick out of the rest
