1998 GSX OEM turbo-back exhaust for sale, nothing is wrong with it except needs cleaned. I just don’t need it. I have all of the hangers that come off of the car also. Just make me an offer. Located in blountsville Alabama
I have a transmission out of a 98 GSX, i was told it was rebuilt and had no more than 80k but I can’t verify. It would be a good core for a spare or to build. Would prefer local pickup but can ship if buyer pays. Located in Blountsville Al
I have a 95 GSX and have been working to get it running.I had to drop the tank and realized the exhaust is going to need a new flex pipe and the muffler is welded to the car, not on a hanger. I’d like to fix the muffler hanger and mount it correctly, and I think I’m going to put 2 v clamps on...
No I haven’t checked, we’re going to drop the tank but I assume I will need both considering how bad the one is. I found the aftermarket one you can buy new that’s like $450 but if I need 2, I don’t want to spend $1000 on fuel pumps and not ever use it to its full potential. I’ve been looking on...
I need a fuel pump for a GSX I just bought, it’s is completely covered in rust. I’m fine with just an oem fuel pump or even a similar aftermarket one, anybody know where I could find one??
Okay thanks, yeah I’m going to try to start digging into it by the end of this week. That guy had an apexi fuel controller installed and it took place of the cup holder, is that where people normally install them? Also is there anything I can do to the window sill seal to prevent it from...
I found a 1995 eclipse GSX on Facebook marketplace and just went and picked it up. It has 121,000 miles and has been sitting for 10+ years. It has a Apexi fuel controller, boost controller, bigger injectors, is slammed and has Apexi exhaust. The guy had someone put nitrous in it and got it back...
So… i found a 1995 eclipse GSX on Facebook marketplace and just went and picked it up. It has 121,000 miles and has been sitting for 10+ years. The guy had someone put nitrous in it and got it back, the fuel pump went out, he lost interest and it’s been sitting there since. I bought it for...
That would work with me. One of my friends dad is a mechanic and knows a ton about rebuilding motors and working on cars so I could probably manage if he shows me how. It id definitely take advice from someone who is very familiar with these cars
Redline 360, here’s the link for them: https://shop.redline360.com/products/rev9-hyper-street-ii-coilovers-eclipse-talon-2g-95-99-r9-hs2-017?variant=21472359514192 . Okay I’ll look into doing that. So does the head just come off and I don’t have to do anything else besides the head or what? I’ve...
Amen I agree, it would be way less expensive and better to just fix my car instead of tear apart the GS to make an RS better. Would you recommend replacing the head gasket now or wait until it gets actually bad? Also, do you know if the REV9 Hyper Street II coilovers are decent or worth getting...
If the RS motor is good and strong, the motor would be better than the GS because it has a head gasket leak. And I could get the parts I need to fix the GS but it would be well over what I would pay for the RS. I am thinking about pulling parts from the GS to make the RS a GS, mainly just the...
My eclipse needs a lot of work to be what I consider in good condition. I found a 1998 eclipse RS for sale and he would take $1500, and it’s already got some headers and an intake, aftermarket wheels, aftermarket radio and a couple of other things. It has the 2gb body minus the high rise wing...
Thank you very much for the advice. I’m going to be thinking about a budget and how much I want to spend to build the car. I definitely think $10000 for just the rebuild and turbo is too much for me. Whenever I make a decision I’ll have to reply on the post, I might have some more questions lol...
Heck yeah thank you for your input, I’ll definitely keep all of that in mind when planning a build and budget. I’ve gotta do something with the motor asap if I go turbo lol
Never mind, I see that you said if I want to turbo as is. Would it be a bad idea to turbo without fixing the head leak first? I put head gasket seal in it and it’s been good but I know it’s gonna be an issue eventually.
Okay sweet, so I probably need to rebuild the engine regardless right? And keeping in mind what the compression test and leak test show, beyond a rebuilt motor would I need to upgrade pistons or anything? And if I make 8-12 pounds of boost reliably, would that give me over 200hp reliably?
By weak bottom end do you mean like stock pistons? I’d like to make 200+ hp, but probably less than 250. I want to make it a fun and peppy daily that is reliable, but I don’t mind working on it.
So basically I want to turbo my eclipse GS, I know there is going to be a lot of work and time spent on it. I don’t have a lot of mechanic/fabrication skills but one of my friends will help me put it all together. I was just curious as to what to expect/not expect with the car if I decide to go...
