The 2g knuckle is one big peice that hangs down from the top of the wheel well. The JDM knuckle from thje galant looks the same just has the right spacing to bolt the calipers to it. However, the 1g does not reach all the way up. It bolts to the strut and has a stiff lower control arm. I'm not...
OOO...Yea........
I will be getting this.BTW, are the prices listed in US or Canadian $$$$$Also, I am selling a kidney, if any one is interested :D
You just keep the CAS from the 1G and use it instead of the two (cam angle, and crank angle sensors) on the 95-96 motors. I beleive there is some head work need on the head from that year to make it work. Plus you have an issue w/ the intake cam seeing it is needed to fit into the CAS. And if you...
I've really found that the cyclone is a waste on time, especially when you can get 6bolts here for 150-500 depending on condition. I bought a cyclone as well. I paid 600 for it, but I got a small 16g and 450s. That is the motor I have now, and I've had it in for three yrs now. But still it is...
kinda sounds like a big vac leak, if your turbo was blown you would still be able to get well above 3000k, just no one behind you would be able to see. Does it have problems idling?
ahemmm... The eclipse motor faces sideways, all rwd cars have their motors facing fowards. So if you look at the only three rwd dsms in existance(besides a mighty max), which are buschur who has two and brent Rae$#@%, anyway their motors face forward and buschur runs a GM power glide tranny. It...
Damn larryd, I've been out of touch for 6 months and you buy a big ass turbo, get a gsx, swap it all and wreck it, damn, some people have all the fun. :D Actually I just bought a 2000 celica gts on the 27, ah friday. Tell you the truth I kinda was turned onto the celica by you and the...
Stroke'n, I be stroke'n, yea baby!
That looks really cool, but there is also the 4g63/4g64 hybrib, which can give you 2.4 liters. Your choice. But the stroker kit sounds very reliable, but is it for 6 or 7 bolt?! and probably runs je's=500+, rods=600+, bearings=50, and crank= god knows b/c this...
This issue w/ the wiring harness is it is a complete underhood harness, its not like hondas where you take the harness off w/ motor. The eclipse harness is all one peice.
First, if you run a 20g, then your looking for serious power, You might want to go 3". Truthfully though, is this a daily driver? you may want to go 2.5, for some drivability issues.
Well, I own both an eclipse and an mr2 turbo. I run a 20g on the eclipse, and took the stock mr2 turbo. and polished and clipped it, the eclipse is a little ruff in traffic. Thinking about the greddy 18G.
well....... sorry, I drop off the face of the earth sometimes. But I now have gone w/ the greddy typeS and piping and have two 1g bov's now, and the Dbrode UPIC pipe to boot. I just have a whole lot of #@%#@%#@%#@% in my opinion, including my eclipse!
The real question is, "What do you want to do w/ your car?" If you want a very reliable(as reliable as a DSM can be) then go w/ a 7 bolt rplacement, if you want it to last a little longer, go 6 bolt 1g big rods/95 pistons. Now if you have a secondary car that you like to drive, then build the...
I don't rcoment this either, that little gasket takes alot of vibration, It is also a prime place for an exhaust leak. and if you didn't have it, then all that vibration will be on cast surfaces, and thay can wear. The gasket's only 6 bucks at the dealer. I have several, b/c I replace it every...
I really like the atr. The thing you have to consider when you purchase an exhaust is you have your big names(G$%##y, A*&x, etc) that make really great looking and performing and expensive exhausts. Then there are the others like the ATR. It works just as good as the big names but really doesn't...
It definitly sounds like an ignition issue. I had the same thing going on to my car. I would slam it down and BOG down. Low fuel, retarded timing. Had to change one coilpack.
Yes, you can tee into BOV, or you can just run one to the waste gate anf one to the turbo. either way, so its reading vacum. It will read it more acurately off the turbo I would think.
I broke my motor in on a 14b. They are really awsome turbos, and I know someone who ran very low 12s in a 1g w/ one. But have not seen anyone in a 2g run 12s w/ one, low 13s yes. It is a very effeceint turbo. The only difference in the fitment is the outlet runs to the top, not the bottom, that...
I once changed a turbo in someones front yard, well it sucked and coolant leaked every f'n where, next thing I knew I was staring a city enviro. employee in the face. It wasn't great, but, if you just undo one of the bolts on the ac unit itself no one will know and no one will see.
Well.... the eclipse has a tach right?! three or four wires? black/whithe or a black and whithe. anyway, red is power, black is ground, and the other is to the rpm signal wire running to the ecu
EGT helps monitor only one thing, EGTs! but how you read it is important, it tells you alot, well it reads only in temp, high. low. or just right. With this info, you can troubleshoot problems in motor.
