I just miss having boost. Even the stock boost is going to be super fun on this 4g64. I am going to be the fastest eclipse in my town with just that lol
I have deleted the awful soft top as well, and I am going to make a temporary hardtop for it, until the C1 hardtop comes out. Thankfully its spring where I live and no rain or snow in the forecast for months.
I picked up a stock 14b and manifold from a 1g, starting my journey. This has no shaft play, and I have personally seen this turbo make boost before I had sold it years before. I am also trading interior pieces for a stock gst side mount intercooler setup, and it just feels better getting closer...
Edit: Saw this pop up as recent, didn't realize it was 10 years old. Lot's changed in the years. The trans mount moves 6 inches, with a 3g 4g64 trans, shifter box and cables, and 3g axles, use the 420a engine timing belt mount flipped on the evo, the front and rear mount are the exact same, and...
I am sorry to dissapoint everyone but I had to get rid of a dsm and unfortunately it was this one. I will be making a profile on my spyder, but as it stands this car is no longer mine.
Guess we'll see on first startup. I haventhad the chance to thank you for that swap yet, as soon as I get taxes I'll be down to pick it all up and thank you! I'll bring that 6 bolt block and head as a freebie since I don't have need for it anymore.
Sounds like motors and you have some oretty bad luck lol, don't give up! Ma performance sells built shortblocks with a warranty, that way you have some sort of guarantee!
Update: 2g and 3g front lower control arms are the same. This being said, the 3g and 2g front subframes look swappable, just like the rear subframes for 3g awd swaps. Pics for reference. The gt front subframe is important because the mount differs from the 2g/3g 4 cyl mount. This being said, I...
Knows if I was closer I'd be driving home in the gsx tonight grinning ear to earThat's how I felt in mine too, banging the limiter in 1st on that 6 bolt felt better than anything
They just got back to me, and stood by their warranty whole heartedly. They're sending me a replacement strut in case one prematurely blows or if one feels different.
Update: Maxpeedingrods saw that it is indeed shock oil, and are sending out a replacement strut for when/if one blows prematurely. Great customer service, and they honor their warranties!
Leaps and bounds better. The subie guys swear by them. Comfy ride, reliable and durable, and great cust service. Basically an entry level BC coil in my opinion. Plus they make all the parts for camber, caster, and toe correction on our cars to go with their coils.
I plan on upgrading to GodSpeed everything, camber arms, toe arms, coils, etc come tax time. I may give this set to my buddy to run on the spyder he's buying from me.
https://www.maxpeedingrods.com/product/coilovers-kits-for-mitsubishi-eclipse-95-99-2nd-gen-adj-damper-24-levels-red.html?search=mitsubishi%20eclipseIt's a very cheap brand with their own horror stories, but I've had good luck with them being reliable and fine. Buying from their site is cheaper...
Oh no, it wasn't when I took the pic. It is all the way now, same with the ball joint bolt pictured as well. That was the first one so it was all loose fit when tested.
It is. The ebay quick release has a lot of slop in it. And the bolts that came with sucked. I had to use 3 of the short ones under the horn ring to get the wheel to bolt fully. And 3 to get the horn ring on
Added a quick $60 ebay wheel setup. The hub is solid, the wheel passed with a bend test (little to no bend at all), but the quick release they include is garbage. Definitely recommend getting a better quick release. This was just for ease of work in the car, I don't plan on running the bad...
Hey all! I just replaced my stock struts with the most budget friendly coilover you can buy. I had to modify the fronts to fit by sanding off the powder coating, the thickness of the powder coating made them thicker than the opening of the fork by a little, and I still wanted to put the bolt all...
Hey y'all, does anyone have any experience running a speeduino type ecm on a late 6g72? 2000+. Anything I need to do for cam and crank sensors or anything like that?
I did the work today you said. I couldnt get the shock out without pulling the upper ballt joint, sway bar, and pushing down. The oem shock and fork wont come out at the same time. On another note, coilovers install really nice with the fork still on.
It's cheaper but like said above, it's mostly for fighting a rusty stock system, more flow, noise, and you do get a performance gain, although negligible. I always get a cat back just for noise personally. I live in AZ so rust and stuff isn't an issue.
