The key to removing the two screws from the plate easily without destroying them is to use to correct screwdriver. These are metric screws, you need to use a JIS screwdriver. It is for lack of any better description a metric Philips screwdriver. The tip has a slightly different shape. I use them...
Have you called them? I believe they have way more than they list. I am going to call them in the next day or two. I need a new driver side 99 GSX fender
Ceddy said you only needed them on the 95-97.......he meant you needed to add them on 95-97 cars because it wasn't there from the factory as it was there on 98-99 cars.
The 95-97 and 99-99 tanks are different, because the filler pipe is also different. The venting is very different and a GSX tank should have a second opening just like the one for the fuel pump. It should be on the passenger side in about the same equivalent place as the drivers side.
I'm running EVO 9 Enkies with Wilwood brakes front and rear. 13.1 x 1.25 two piece rotors front and rear. 6 pot forged billet calipers in front with no clearance issues. I have been thinking about the same Enkies RFP1 in 17x9 +38, I saw them on a tuners member car from Texas. I've heard that...
I can attest to that. The KAAZ locks solid! I was on the highway about 100 miles from home and hit a pothole in the road. All of a sudden I heard a clunk and I had to keep the steering wheel partly to the left to stay centered. Turns out the the rear passenger side trailing arm snapped. Because...
As Nate said, I have Bridgestone Blizzaks on alternate wheels for the winter. I tend to get 3-4 winters out of a set (I sometimes run them too far into the spring because I can't get to my others soon enough) For the rest of the year, I run summer tires on EVO IX wheels and get 2-3 summers out...
Mine is not only a DD, but my only car. So during my catastrophic failures, it's a rental car. I fact, I'm going to have to deal with rust soon. Both strut towers and both rockers are starting to rust. I guess I'll be in for a few grand and a rental car again.
I run summer tires on the EVO wheels. For the winter, I run 225/40-17 Bridgestone Blizzaks on 17x7.5 Gram Lights. I'll most likely go with Falken Azenis 615K in 245/40-17 in spring as my Dunlops are done.
I'm running Dunlop Sport Maxx TT 245/40-17 on EVO IX Enkies. I am lowered but, at this point I'm not really sure how much. I'm on Tein Type Flex coilovers. No rubbing issues and renders are not rolled at all. I was thinking about going to a 255/40-17 after the winter, but I'm afraid that they...
You should be able to get most sheet metal panels......not genuine Mitsubishi, but aftermarket. I'm thinking that if you bring a car to a body shop, they would get them. I was looking on line for left front fenders for a 2gb GSX. Mitsubishi doesn't make them anymore. I did find a few places...
When I got my ETS race race intercooler kit with that same pipe kit directly from ETS, the pipes didn't fit very well. I was able to make it fit okay, I eventually took the car to JMFabications and had them do some cutting and welding to make it all better.
Look up Prothane part number 13-301. I think that's the one. If I remember correctly from when I did mine, you will see 2 tubes that are longer than the rest. Those are the tubes along with two spacers.http://www.prothanesuspensionparts.com/13301
The OP can always urethane bushings from Prothane. They have a kit that includes them as part of the kit. Cut bolts to get the toe arms out and then remove the original bushings and push the new ones in. The eccentric bolts should still be available from places like JNZtuning. I remove the old...
Can anybody recommend a seriously good place to have bodywork done? I need to get both front strut towers repaired/replaced, along with the rockers under the doors. I don't want some cob work done.
Just to add some info to this subject, I had a similar issue, car would just shut down while driving. It was the CAS failing. It worked until it got hot and them throw a spurious signal to the ECU. I found that until I got the new one from JNZtuning, I would start the engine and give it a moment...
I think I read somewhere that for the 1999 model year Mitsubishi only sold around 28 thousand ish GSX Eclipses. So they won't expect to make dedicated parts (that are GSX only) 16 years out. It's just no profitable...it's most likely not even break evenable. (That's not even a word)I had to...
I guess there's too many variables. I had to cut a couple inches off of a couple of them to make it all fit. Then for a few weeks I had pipes that had no rolled beads on the ends! A little too much boost would blow the hose off. I ran over to JMFabrications and had them fix them up a bit and...
I'm running the "short route", unfortunately not the "ultra short route" mine has the inlet and outlet coming out on the ends instead of the back. I'm running 20-22 PSI, but I've been going easy on it. It's a DD.....it's my only driver! I blow it up, I'm walking. It's got 227,000 miles on the...
I remember reading a few posts about using ECUflash on win 7. Some of the files need to be put in different locations compared to Win XP, I'm not sure, but maybe that is the problem. Check the http://www.openecu.org/index.php?title=EcuFlash to see what the correct install is. Version 1.42 is...
I have been running the ETS 3" "short route" race intercooler for a few years now. fIt fit okay, though I needed to move the ABS motor up 2-3" higher. I got the polished stainless steel pipes. I did need to do a bit of cutting on the front bumper cover. I did keep the crash bar, I just needed to...
Mitsubishi no longer makes the pre formed coolant hoses (the small diameter hoses) and I find that the standard hose by the foot doesn't like some of the tight radius bends needed. I got a few feet of silicone "heater hose" from siliconehose.com. And they have need good so far. I agree with...
As far as how many CFMs the fans can move, I haven't seen any aftermarket versions that even match the OEM fans. I can't count how many I've been through and I'm back to the OEM fan on the passenger side. There's no room on the drivers side.In a side note, it funny, I'm in a similar position...
Pauleyman, very well said. There are now too many people buying crap eBay parts or rigging sh#t parts and then getting on here and whining why things don't work and then flaming people when they don't get the answer they want. Seems that the Honduh ricers are moving here.
Sorry, yes. It was two things....leaking V band clamp between the waste botto. Of the O2 housing and the downpipe and a leaking flex section in the down pipe. The down pipe had taken a beating over the years.
The room light fuse should have a probe hole on each end. Push a piece of solid wire into each one and then put the dvom probe wires on each. Set the meter for milliamps and see what kind of readings you get
I had leaking in the trunk and passenger side floor between the front and back seats. I was going crazy trying to find it. Turned out to be the weatherstripping around the hatch. I replaced it and no more leaking.
I have it connected to one of the unused ports on the oil filter housing. There are most likely 2 ports that are plugged. Remove the plug and put the sensor there. It is 3/8 BSP threads, so you will need an adaptor to 1/8 NPT.
I forget the thread sizes, BUT they are BSP....not metric or Imperial. So you should get the correct adaptor to avoid ending with any oil dripping in the future.Just my .02
I would check all of the wiring to look for damaged wires. If you smelled something burning and it blew a 40 amp fuse, that's a pretty large fuse to blow. I'd look for a wire that might have cracked broken insulation that is bumping into some bare metal.
Froodawg, does it make the noise only when actually driving, or also when the car is up on jack stands? I'm just think and grasping at straws of what could be causing it. Thinking all of the moving parts and if it's only when the car is on the ground and driving ....I would try swapping front...
I have never seen anybody get the axle out of the hub splines when they are frozen like that. I've seen people use heat, presses, etc and have not removed the shaft. Most shops just replace the entire knuckle....lots of money. If you can get to the 4 bolts on the back of the hub, you should be...
I just started using the Zeitronox ZT-3 wide band, I'm also going to use the ZT-3 for EGT and Vac/boost by adding a couple more sensors. Replacing some failing Defi Link gauges.
I had that same thing a number months ago. Trying to put into 2, 4 and reverse was like hitting a wall. I checked all the cables, etc, I even dissconnected them from the transmission and tried the shift levers directly and found the same thing. I drove it around like that for a while as I...
I got one for a 2G GSX rear a couple of years ago. I ordered it from the KAAZ website and it shipped to me directly from Japan. If I remember correctly, it was about $1300.00. They claim on the website that it's "plug and play" but it's not quite. It requires that the axles have EVO 8 inner CV's...
