No, changing the intake filter wont change the sound or make it louder. Also, cutting a hole "under the air dam" wouldnt change the sound comming out of your blow off valve.
Thats a mixed question. While dsmlink is more than enough for most people, there are some that prefer the specific options provided by a standalone system. Search this site, I was just reading a huge VS thread on them last week. Guess it just depends on your setup and goals.
Ok in all seriousnes I didnt read all of your post. I read Non-Turbo 420a and skipped to the reply button. Just kidding. ROFLDont trade. Wait, save, and spend the extra money on a nice turbo AWD eclipse instead of buying something that looks like a sports car but doesnt have the guts...
Ok so looking at your mods list in profile as of this second (coz you will update it after I point this out) you need fuel control. You have a Walboro 255hp pump and no Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator to control it. I would start there and add in Injectors (on your wishlist) and a way to...
Oil on "spark plug cover" is a bad oil cap.Lots of blow-by and lots of smoke at low rpm leads me to thing the rings. Either way a compression/leak down test will tell. But a search should tell you that blow-by is generaly caused by bad (improperly seated/broken in) rings.Of course...
Drain and refill the gas tank. Modern gasoline goes bad pretty quickly and youll be sucking mostly water and rust through the system first time starting up. Make sure you check the brakes before driving it. Its one of those things that dry rot and it sucks to find out your brakes arent up to...
The car only runs on one fan, the second one only comes on when the a/c is turned on. I had a similar problem and wired both fans together so they both turn on and off at the same time. But I wouldnt think that it running on one fan would cause it to overheat that much. Are you sure the fan...

this is what was on the turbo and it looks like the same housing as any 20g or other tdo6 but it says teo6 on the id tag........
it says te06-16m on the id plate and i will grag the serial number monday and post it monday night.....the compresser wheel looks similar to a g series wheel but the secondary blade set does not come up even with the primary set...they stop about half way up....other than that i have no other...
i have a mhi 16m turbo at work just lying around and i've been trying to find a flow map for about a week now with no luck....the thing is the turbo would be free and i know it was a good pull off unit...plus i also have a turbo fwd automatic car with a dead 14b and some other spare street stuff...

does any know what the exact function of this is ? my tranny seemed to slip/ go into neutral at anything more than 1/4 throttle....i pulled the valve body today and found the the spring at the end of this valve was all twisted up in the valve body bore making it stick/hang... anyone know what...
just looking for some general guidelines here. I'm using the eagle rod/ wiseco combo and i know about the whole "eagles are always off" thing everybody screams....
ok i see the -an lines 10 an right? hmm... i wonder if mitsu ever built something that used the same pump without the water pipe out the back of it? i know that the "no cooler" oil filter that some people sell is right off the front of a mighty max 2.4......
hey per...i just notice that the crank in your motor is gold in color...was it nitrided? also any ideas on a turbo manifold using a 16 turbo rwd? me and a buddy are 2.4l his starion...what are you going to do for radiator hose connections?
you need to read a lot of theards in the auto tranny sub forum....the 13g turbo will die quickly if you up the boost pass 16lbs or so.do the same stuff as you would if it was a manual car but instead of having to buy a clutch that will most likley give you problems buy a ipt shift kit for the...
just for your info... the top two sets of yellow light are your pre stage and stage lights your must trip both these lights with your front wheels once you do this and if there is nobody in the other lane you have about 1 to 3 seconds before the lights start to drop now there are two other sets...
sounds like a speed sensor problem, but first you should pull the codes from your tcu...go to this sight www.plymouthlaser.com and there is a page that will tell you what to do... :thumb:
this is how i do it when i run some one else at the track....pull up from the stage lanes from the light tree first! dont worry about the other guy yet just get to the tree be fore he does! now trip on the the pre stage and stage lights.. if the other guy starts doing a burn out go ahead and...
if your car is a n/t the easiest way to "keep up with the 5 speed turbo cars" is to buy a turbo car it will save you alot of time and b.s. plus you can drive the n/t to work as a beater.... :thumb:
take the little carpet covered plastic thing off at the bottom on the pass. side and you should see the tcu harness going into the tcu......the tcu is directly under the ac duct box on the floor....
of corse im looking for a rwd peregine why would i want to do the fwd thing thing again? i went down that road once before to the tune of 14.11 at 116.9mph...pm me about the car....or just email me
i got the crank from a 1.6 hyundai that someone has been using in a turbo awd parts car i bought.yes someone blew the 2l and just swap over all the turbo stuff ,hell it even had the 2l head. the block said g4cr on it which cam in a 92-92 elantra the werid thing is its a 6 bolt crank and dropped...
no...i believe the 93 and up have a 2 plug tcu and you 91 should have 3 plugs if its a turbo car and even if you find a 3plug tcu from a non turbo and you car is a turbo car it will do some crazy sh*t! and you wont want to drive it.......
how do you think this engine would act?
2.4l 6 bolt blk 87.5mm bore/ .40 overbore
1.6l crank 75 mm stroke with the crank butcherd by ffwd would weigh about24lbs
156mm rods?
9.0 compression maybe dome top to account for the shorter stroke
by my figures it would displace 121.6 cu. in. and...
what exatly areyou trying to do? your post says you are wanting to put a 92 tranny in a 91 and keep your tranfer case ? if that is the case then all you need to do is count the spline on the tranny output shaft that goes into tranfer case if they are the same then you can use your either...
i think only the turbo cars(fwd or awd)come with the 4 point flexplate.the only time i have seen the 3 point is behind non turbo cars. why are you trying to find one from a junk car? have you even tried the dealer or carquest? i know the old chryler flexplates were like $25 new from carquest...
I agree with john....the 2 4 pin tranny connectors can easily get switched up and would put in limp mode... do you notice the tranny shift like normal?
remove both cooling fans to give yourself some room to work. use a center punch and hammer and make a good mark in the center of the stud (this is the most important part)
now get a drill and small bit and start to drill(try to keep in mind that the motor dosent sit exactly level in the car so...
john, im not trying to be cheap...but my wife helps out with the car moneywise and its something we do together,i would have no problem with just sending you the tranny if it was completely up to me but this is a decision we will have to both agree on besides  its not just all my money...
stick, if you have a datalogger and can read the tps sensor you my see it doing some crazy sh*t ,when i first got my car i noticed that the the tps had become covered in oil at some point in time by a blown pcv valve hose. not giving a damn about it at the time i drove the car around for a few...
