Thanks for the help. And I’be been looking for those bearings you mentioned with no luck. I appreciate everyone’s help on this, what a pain. Where is the best place to those bearings?
So I went out on a limb and bought a “drop in ready” 6 bolt 4g63 on marketplace. Had it in the car and was eating for a pan gasket. Went to install the pick up and found that the main stud that mounts it was in the wrong spot. At that point I was kind of annoyed I had to “un torque” a main cap...
I deleted the balance shafts and flipped the bearings. I drove it again today and it sits roughly in the middle of the gauge. Gauge will be here tomorrow
I think the turbo is okay, I’m worried about the motor not getting enough now, just weird the oem gauge showed almost 3/4 on the actually gauge. Now it sits on the low end of the 2 “lines” in the gauge itself
So I switched my oil feed from the head to the ofh for my Holset and seem to be running less pressure on my stock gauge. At idle warm it sits at mark on the cluster where ideal pressure would be but seems on the low side. Compared to before it was roughly 3/4 a crossed the gauge. I think I need...
I’m confused, I have the oem torque specs but k1 rods came with another torque specs for like 5 different rod bolt sizes. Anyone know the true torque spec for k1 rods in a 6 bolt? Thanks in advance
So here is my setup, 6 bolt 4g63. Stock head, ARP head studs, JE 85.5mm piston. K1 racing h beams, ACL race bearings, Holset hy35, tubular manifold. Link v3 with innovative lc2. FIC 850cc, I know there is a thread for this but was hoping for a decently quick response. Say 25-28 psi ish what can...
I got these thinking I ordered 21mm wrist pins. I already have my pistons bored for my block and need 21mm wrist pin rods. Will sell for 250 or trade for the rods I need. Located in Portland, will ship. 5416783408, thanks Seth
These are lightly used rods. I bought them for my current setup but need a 21mm wrist pin as oppposed to the 22mm. Basically they’re a 6 bolt bottom end rod with a 7 bolt piston evo etc. will trade for what I need or sell for 250.
It made 425 on the stock rods but the topline oil pump failed and took out a rod bearing. Rebuilding the block and adding Bridgeway rods I got a smoking deal on. I’d like another 25whp lol
Hello All, Im currently assembling my short block. I have JE pistons and Bridgeway H-beam rods. the block has been bored .20 to 85.5mm. My questions is, What head gasket should i run? ive read through a lot of posts, a lot say basic fel pro gaskets work great. being 85.5mm i cannot find that...
So I tore down my block last night and found #2 rod welded to the crank. During inspection I noticed the oil pump was extremely hard to turn. This car is new to me, I have new short block with a good crank but What I’m wondering, is it possible that the balance shaft delete kit caused the oil...
Hello all, I’ve done a lot of searching but I can’t seem to find anyone else with this cam marking. 92 talon tsi I’m tearing down to rebuild bottom end. Are these cams stock?
Hello all, my name is Seth. I just moved to Portland area and figured I’d get back into the car scene after 10 years. I picked up a talon today that currently doesn’t run. 92 tsi, has several mice bolt ons bolt the young kid I got it from knew nothing about it other than it had a rod knock...
