A few photos of progress the long red wire is the positive to to the battery for some reason the previous owner ran it super long for the battery relocation to the trunk will need to fix this
I’ve heard I just went with it because it was available and in my price range at the time. But later on I plan to upgrade once I have it running and find a decent priced one. I don’t plan on running it long.

It’s been a few months since I’ve posted or updated this post but have made some progress since last post. Will post photos later =). In the last few months I have finished the motor build and bought a built trans mission rated to hold about 600hp-650hp, granted my goal for the car is just...
I hope not if so then I only paid $300 for the shell most of my money is in the motor itself about $7k in parts labor and a built transmission. Could alway try and find a new shell to use. Was told by the guy helping on this build he could fix it hoping so if not I’ll save for a new shell
Motor and transmission are done gets dropped in tomorrow. Noticed damage underneath the car as well as some rust in engine bay no have to get those repaired 🥺.
Then I have a problem 🥺🥺🥺. They are bent up I talked to the guy helping me with my motor and he said he can fix the areas for me when he seals the two small rust spots I noticed in the engine bay. I just don’t see how it got like that.Well the rails are bent too I just couldn’t get a good...
So I bought this shell a while ago and don’t see how I missed this. As I am getting the car ready for to have the motor installed I noticed underneath the car was a bent up specifically on the side trim where you would normally put side skirts is this fixable?
t’s been a while since I posted on the site. I’ve been gather parts through patience and help from a member here on the forum. Currently the motor is being put together for me as I am on orders for the Navy and well let’s just say I got in over my head because half of what the previous owner of...
Just received these photos of my engine might should have went with a lighter color valve cover went with green because it’s my fav color. Think I’ll just have to get brighter color piping and coatings to make it stand out in the engine bay.

Yea I might just save up and buy the engine I seen from japan. Just need 1000 more and I can get that one and it’s an original 4g63t supposedly pulled and tested from a running 2g for sale from a jdm shop comes with a warranty as well.
true that’s my mistake but sadly I am in the dark on that also. Which is why I’m skeptical on buying it. Originally I just wanted to find a running 4g63t to buy and drop in since I have no knowledge really about the 2.3 stroker build option. But that’s all I’ve been able to run across when...
Good morning,So I am a noobie when it comes to rebuilding/stroker build. Long story I purchased a 98 gst shell with tranny, full exhaust only. I gathered other parts already have them posted in the comments on my build thread. They guy I purchased the car from has a bottom end 2.3L stroker...

Picked up some parts today. A couple things I noticed on the car while dropping of the parts to the garage. Was the gap between the doors and the front fender is kind of wide not sure if it’s supposed to be this far apart. And also the hood gap will add pictures.
Picked up the car today, even though I purchased it a week ago the guy held it until I could get a trailer to bring it home. Ended up going to the pick n pull close to my place and found a 98 gst spider that had been basically stripped. But did how ever find a ECU still attached behind the radio...
yea I know I have time I don’t need the car right away as I have my daily 2021 Mazda 3 hatch. When I seen it I knew it was going to be a HUGE!!! Project but it’s fine with me I have friends helping out also and a few mechanics as well. Just going to take my time with it no rush at the moment...
Little update on the thread finalmy found one 98 gst that wasn’t in to bad of shape if you don’t count missing an engine, radiator, sunroof, engine harness, intercooler, needs new clutch, and computer . Paid 300 for it it’s basically a shell with a working trans. Overall though the outside...
true I’m going to go look at it physically in about a week. I just happen to have run across the car and he has since took the listing down I believe and told me to let him know when I can come by.Oh yea I have read up on quite a few things on these cars and snooped around looking at others...
well I offered him $2,200 a few days ago and told him if he would take that I would come pick it up in about a week. And then he started giving me the information of what’s wrong with it so I think he will take $2,200 for it. I know the manifold will need to be replaced I already looked at a few...
not considering it as a daily driver, just occasional driver mainly on the weekends. I have my embarrassing 2020 Jeep Compass to daily drive. Still regretting that I sold my FRS and bought the Compass
I was thinking the same that it shouldn’t be hard to fix, especially with a little help from my mechanics at the dealership I currently work at. I went ahead and looked up the cost of parts that he mentioned was bad. Seems to not be terribly expensive at all so for now his car is still on my...
Good evening,I have been lurking on here for a while, just trying to soak up some information. I have been looking for a DSM for a few months now, so currently I do not own one but will be looking two in the next couple weeks. I have found a 1999 GST vin verified. But the owner says there’s a...
