I'm in Livonia and might be able to help you out. Do you have a wideband or a logger? If not I have a wideband that we could install to tune your car. Is that mod list in your profile up to date?
Defiately intercooler pipe like everyone has said, it happens to everybody. Scares the crap out of you when it happens because it's very loud but is really harmless. The car can't run because the MAS has no idea whats going on. Always check the small simple things first.
I had the exact problem you mention and it was a faulty BOV. If you haven't checked it yet do so, maybe if you have another one around throw it on and see. I know you said everything was fine with the 14B but something could have gone wrong that first night you did see 15psi.
I have an L2R that only needs a new compressor wheel. AGP quoted me $550 to rebalance and replace the wheel (wheel is $75). I think that's way overpriced and haven't actually sent it to them. Apparently the ball-bearing turbos are much harder to rebuild, why, I don't know.
Sorry (not trying to be mean) but thats an even sillier question. Everything is more prone to break with more horsepower. The more stress and strain that a part is loaded with the more likely it will eventually break. A lot of people who don't drive particularly hard as far as launching and...
Are you seriously asking this question? It's been beat to death more than once already. There's a certain something you should've done before posting this. The gearing is a little less aggressive in the auto cars and that tranny's a little heavier than a 5-speed. In stock form the 5-speeds...
ummm, a lot of things have hemis in them, not just the new trucks, by his post it could've been anything. Hell, even our cars have hemis.BTW LOL at the original post!
I find it funny how some people think they know the truth. You don't. You don't know dick except for what the media is feeding you and we all know how accurate that is especially when famous people are the highlight. No one knows what happened except Michael and that little boy. So STFU...
100% agreed. I remember reading SCC's super street competition (don't know if that's what it was called exactly) but either way Dan Cokic's GSX was a competitor and in a section where the writer was talking about his car stated that..."The 4G63 is Mitsubishi's version of the small block...
Sound's like jdm's heart's been broken a few times too many. You poor thing. Let me guess, you used to be in love, things went wrong (she cheated, fell out of love, doesn't really matter) and now all women are trash/broads/whores/useless except for sex....blah blah blah. I think it's obvious...
I paid 2.05 yesterday for 93 and that was the cheapest I could find. I saw it for 2.08 and even 2.10 for 94 at sunoco. It's a lot cheaper in Ohio than a lot of other states. I have never in my life seen it above $2 except for the 5 minutes after 911 before the police caught up with it.I...
This just might be my favorite DSM, I'm surprised no one already posted it so here it is for us all to drool over...Dan Cokic's 93 GSX, oh and it runs 9s too.
There's nothing wrong with running slicks on my car...with a stock differential. I have absolutely no torque steer, no wheel hop, and no spinning. You can't find anything wrong with that.I just wouldn't do a burn out, everyone should already know that "one-wheel peels" are not a good...
I don't heat mine up cause I have a stock diff, it would probably only spin one tire and that would be useless. Try doing a burnout say for 10-15 seconds in water and have someone tell you if both tires spin.
Summit sells them, that's where I got them, I am not sure of any place else. I can't really compare times with and without but I can say that the first time at the track this year on my normal street tires was a joke. Once I got used to the tires gripping on full boost in 1st gear I...
Tom, the Taylor wires I have are only 65 new, no sale....and they are a lot better than Magnacor. I believe Moroso makes wires for dsm's too. MSD makes them but they don't fit...at least for 97-98.
The nittos I have are normal street tires not their drag radials thats all I was saying. I will say too that a real street tire would be useless on my new setup and that 60' I did get would never happen again. There's a big difference in all 3 categories, slicks obviously being the best but...
I'm not sure if this pertains to the original poster but if you are reading this and have a 2G I have an easier way.Take off your fuel inlet line (not return line) at the rail and hook up a hose. Take out your 2 pound back seat cushion and take off the fuel pump cover and disconnect it...
My car used to be an auto and the way that I lauched worked really well (2.092 60") and never overheated the tranny (as long as you don't do it repeatedly)Don't pay attention to your rpms, the converter will only stall till about 2,500-2,800. Hold the brake at the start and watch your boost...
I thought I'd chip in on this. I recently used my new slicks for about 15-20 runs during the shootout weekend and have to say that they are the best thing I've bought so far as well. Tire spin is not a problem anymore even with 20psi in 1st gear...we all know what that would do on a radial...
I don't know how anyone could actually do this by mistake, but it looks to me like the probe is tapped into the heat sheild and not even into the manifold at all. I'd take it out, take the heat sheild off and you may find there isn't even a hole drilled into the manifold. Just a thought.
First off you can't shift from 1st to 3rd and expect a good ET. Second, reaction time has nothing to do with your ET, you can sit at the light for 10 minutes and get the same ET. Third, to increase boost, you thread your MBC in, not out. With the MBC all the way out you will get very low...
You absolutley need motor mount brackets. In the rear your actual mount will work but the bracket will not...just find that bracket from a junkyard or order it from the dealer. On the left side, the mounts are different from auto to manual but your auto one will work, it did for me.As for...
daltah - You do not need new brake lines. When you replace the brake pedal, everything just plugs right into the new one. You'll see when you get down there. I know you can use non-turbo pedals in a turbo and vice versa...mine came from an Esi so they are the same. Not sure if you have all...
I had a similar problem, make sure your plug gap is right. Also put some dielectric grease to avoid arching....these were my problems that cause random missing under normal load.
Hey, just thought I'd add that when my car was auto with the T-25, I ran a best 60' of 2.111 (consistantly) with 215 40 17 nitto 450 radials. It can be done with regular street tires, although slicks or drag radials are a good idea. I would stall it until around 11-12 lbs, any more and it...
hmm, I was actually planning on going to the track this weekend, but to Milan here, I'll see if I can get my friends to go to Norwalk, doubtful but I bet they'd like to see a turbo blaster! I'll let ya know cause I want to see it ;)
^^ that the only way to shift a quad anyways! Couldn't you just jet the carb for more fuel? It'd be cheaper than getting a new carb or another one but would it be enough? You got me thinking of something for the Banshee seeing how quick you guys did it...
I know there are quite a few people out there who question doing this swap constantly so I wanted to share my experience in doing it.First off, I have had my car since I was 16 and it was brand new with 36 miles on it so for that reason, plus the fact that I have put a lot of money in it...
Also a good idea...2-stroke is the best by far. I just remember the 1-seater sand rail I saw last summer with a 1300 hayabusa motor. The thing was crazy, I mean I can't even describe how must faster it was than anything else out there. So to put it in a 4-wheeler frame would be similar...
Seems like it would be easier to put a crotch rocket motor in it. I've seen that before...still a 4-cylinder with over 100 horse too. And it would be a lot lighter, a lot faster, with a lot less fabrication.
