I rotated the motor one turn clockwise just to see if anything were to match up. Im sorry about the cams I thought they were okay I’m still new to this whole experience I guess it was just optimism. So how would I start inspecting, would i keep turning clockwise until I hit TDC? Then take a...
I need a second opinion. On the road the other day my car sputtered out after a pop and wouldn’t turn over. Threw a P0335 code. I checked the crankshaft sensor and it was thrashed so I replaced it and hoped for the best. Still wouldn’t turn over, but every couple attempts it would make a...
Gonna test these out soon. After a new battery and alternator I’ve repaired all the symptoms of the P0335 code, now the code is gone(probably because of the battery replacement) but still no cigar. Car sounds better than it did before so that was part of the issue somehow.
My car died on the road the other day, code reader said it was P0335. Upon inspection the crankshaft position sensor had broke under some condition, the actual sensor was done just by looking at it. Replaced it, the camshaft sensor after that, spark plugs and wires (just cause I was already...
I kept all my old seals to measure them together with the ones I received from IPT and make sure they were the correct size. Im gonna take one more look at it before ordering a new rebuild kit and starting over again
So i ended up double checking all my work, ensured everything was done correctly and seals are nice and lubricated. Still no fix to the problem. Any more suggestions?
My 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear run fine with O/D off. As soon as I click O/D the car shifts, hesitates, and theres no power to the throttle, literally feels like neutral. Yesterday I just rebuilt the end clutch (Seals, Steels, Frictions, etc.) with the IPT kit. What else could be the issue...
The rack and pinion was replaced recently as well as the outer tie rod ends due to a fluid leak, ill check the ball joints first as you have listed then will update this thread based upon what I can find. I appreciate your guys’ help.
I hear a clunk everytime I start to turn my steering wheel a certain direction, it always sounds the same and you can hear the same clunk when hitting bumps or potholes. I believe the problem is connected to my steering shaft, but I came here in need of further knowledge to not mess with...
The mounts were all checked out before installation; no cracks, dents, rips, etc. My old ones were cracked but didnt vibrate as bad. The sound is the vibration after being put in gear
They are classified as OE (Solid) when I purchased them, but I hope they soften over time because they are brand new after all. I really dont wanna have to spend the extra money for OEM since the budget is pretty high for those.
Is this too much movement after installing new motor mounts? I got them from Oreillys, labeled as “Solid” with Rubber insides. Here is a video attachment of me shifting into gears to show said movement. Lots of cabin vibration especially when car is cold
My srs light had came on 2 days prior; having time I checked it out yesterday. I disconnected the battery and waited about 10 minutes to start unbolting everything. Took off driver side airbag with no issues, disconnected everything one by one with patience. When that was off I switched to the...
When I turn my car on all of the electrical components begin to flash. Fairly new alternator(Duralast) about a couple months old at most. Flashing goes away within 2 or so minutes. Checked battery and alt with a multimeter. Battery checks out, alt ranges from 14.3 to 15. Multiple grounds were...
Im going to order a NGR Type S bov, but I have stock upper intercooler piping. Do I need a specific flange for it? It can’t be welded on for obvious reasons. Any recommendations?
I ordered a Megan Racing downpipe and in the specs it claims to have a 2.75” outlet. Do you guys have any size recommendations on what to buy regarding finding a muffler that will fit? If so where should I look?
Thanks man I see now so it’s basically just dragging itself across the pulleys causing the forced sound of movement. I appreciate the help the guy I bought it from probably didn’t know what to get. Do you know what size I should get? 940 or 930?
Alright so I tried the water trick and it didn’t stop the squealing on any of the belts. Its the lowest right hand side pulley. It started happening after driving from where I picked the car up originally. I diagnosed it had bad engine mounts but had to drive around 30 miles to get it home in...
I have a 97’ GST eclipse and I’m hearing a squeal coming from a pulley/belt when I idle. The squeal temporarily stops when I turn the AC on, it also goes away when I start to drive.
I was wondering which pulley this is, its causing a squealing when I idle, but when I turn on my AC it’ll stop for a short while and if I turn the AC back off the squeal will come back. Want to fix it as soon as possible, but I wanna know which part I’m going to have to purchase.
