Hey Guys!I did a lot of re-reading in this thread. I wish I was more active in it, but much of the conversation here was during a time where I was distancing myself from car stuff. New wife, new house, new daughter... Grown up stuff. As many of you know I am building a new race car. It's...
I totally feel where you're coming from. I felt the SAME way. Later on, I felt like I should have pushed it more.Either way, you DID accomplish your goal, and that kicks ass!
I totally get wanting to move on to the bigger turbo. I've been there. It is VERY difficult to chop hundredths off your time when you're already squeezing every last drop out of your set-up. That said, I'd keep pushing it. I know you can beat my time, and I have little doubt that you could reach...
Haha! I will eat a hotdog cooked on an exhaust manifold if the winner is ok with having hotdog juice on their award winning engine. I just need relish to drown out any ceramic coating flavor...
Hey guys. Felt like throwing a little info up about my distraction.I've taken a short break from my 1992 Eclipse race car build to put together a street car I can enjoy in the meantime. It's ended up taking more time and money than I originally intended, be we all knew that would happen right...
Doing it cheap was how I started. Went 11s on the 14b for $1800 total. 10s on the 14b for $5500. 9s on the 16g for $10,500. It was never about a record for me. The records were just a serendipitous result.
It will be a True Street class car to start and then will transform to a SFWD car at some point. So, the big Mickeys will be up front and the skinnies in the rear.
Hello. Some of you might remember me as the owner of the red 1990 Plymouth Laser named Project Goodwill. I had to get rid of it because, well, life. I recently decided it was time for a new project. I'm calling it Pro Street Eclipse. I want it to have that old school feel. Big D.O.T. tires. Full...
I'm trying to catch back up and be active on a few DSM forums. I intend to fully document the build of this new car too. So, you should see some stuff about that. Whenever I start...Love those wheels Justin.
Shane! I loved the top ten with photos. Nice work. Good luck guys! And Phil! Nice of you to mention me. Of course you inspired me! So did Leon!Hey, I bought a new car last week...Shane! I loved the top ten with photos. Nice work. Good luck guys! And Phil! Nice of you to mention me...
Congrats Justin! This is quite an accomplishment. Very few people know how much work it is to make this happen, and it seems sometimes people would rather put more effort into discrediting what you're doing anyway. Don't let anyone take away from what you've done. Sit and enjoy being on top...
If you go to my website, www.joebucci.com, click "about me", then click "race car", it will take you to a site with info about my car and the last mod list for the 9 second pass. There is also a link to the "Project Goodwill" site that will take you step by step through the mods on the way to...
Phil, I know exactly where you are coming from. Scraping for every 100th of a second gets old after a while, knowing you can bolt on a $500 turbo and cut a full second of easily. Thats why I was so quick to go to the 16g after I hit 10s on the 14b. The day I first went 10s, I went to the track...
This is so awesome! You guys have me so fired up!I can't believe it has been so long since I ran those times! I totally expected someone to beat my times a long time ago. The way people were talking to me back then, them and their friends had setups planned that would put mine to shame...
Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I hate questioning people's accomplishments. I may have the most questioned accomplishments of all. It just doesn't add up to me. :hmm:I went 10.51 on a small 16g with no NOS at one point, so a 10.2 on a 16g with no NOS is certainly do-able. I don't see...
Nate! I'm glad to be a part of it! I'm so far away from it anymore that I have to rely on word of mouth to know there is a discussion at all! So, when I hear about it, I try to add my 2 cents, if anyone wants it.It's been quite a long time since I sold the car to a local and MUCH longer...
Thanks Phil! Shit, I remember reading about you back on the Talon Digest. You were LEGEND before anyone really cared about "records". My Car started as just a budget car, but when I saw the potential, I looked to you and Leon for inspiration!Speaking of budget, I believe my breakdown was...
Probably is shitty with 4' of snow on your race car, but you must like something about it if you bought a house there! Sounds like you need a winter home. Besides, you spend more time at Disney than in Nj anyway! To add to the weight discussion, I mentioned above the weight I could have...
For some reason, notification to thread response is spotty for me... Anyway, I'll try to catch up.After being sidetracked by the aero talk, I'll try to answer a couple questions I saw get asked.Phil, I never got a clean pull on a dyno with my laser. I tried twice with the 14b, with...
Hey guys! Good to read up on this topic. Glad people are still doing this.A couple notes...Mike Knott was my partner with Goodwill in the beginning. His 11.8 time was in that car before I took it over myself.Aaron Sadorfs Laser was black. He had a teal AWD one years ago, but his 14b...
6.80 @ 108 is moving! My best 1/8th was 6.50 @ 113. That was on a 16g with a 60 shot. I tried 100, but it didn't seem to want to go any faster. Thought my turbine housing was limiting me.Anyway... nice job.I know Nate Crisman is getting his 14b racecar ready. I wonder what others are...
Wow! This thread is AWESOME! Thanks to Nate C. For the heads up.I will respond more to some of this when I'm on a real computer, not a phone. But I'd like to say I'm SUPER surprised no one has beat my record yet. My car has been in my garage stripped for 3 years. Anyone wanna come help me...
Hey guys!I was a little bored at work so I started browsing the forums and came to this thread. I love reading this stuff and keeping up with who is doing what with a small turbo.Good luck to everyone doing this. It's a lot of fun and can be done for a relatively low cost.I have...
