Already snowing over here, so I will wait to put the kit on in the spring. I decided to look into getting a second car for winter... my insurance and cost of ownership is low enough now I think I can do it.The kit is fiberglass too and I don't want to deal with rust anymore, so I will garage...
Thanks for the advice. The kit is 100% OEM bolt-on, I will be using replacement stainless steel bolts and a weatherproof 3M tape for the sideskirts like the stock ones. If anyone knows what size and length bolts I need or if someone sells a kit that would be great...
Update: Body kit arrived in Cali at the port, it is delayed and backed up over there tho, so 1,2,3 more weeks till I have it. 🙄I should have bought my hood and hatch from Carbonetics, I would probably have them at the same time, LOL.
Anyone looking for a mint, fully restored 1998 Eclipse GSX w/5-speed, check this one out! Likely going to be listed on Bring A Trialer soon. It will cost a lot, but if someone wants one this is the one to get! Wow! 😍
Here she is, still WIP, I have to finish making the custom center caps with mitsubishi logo. 😁👍Michelin CrossClimate 2 @215/50/R17

I am yes, they would need to be refinished by someone, they will come with the tires (Michelin Premier A/S), the rears still have some tread and the fronts are bald. I am in CT BTW. 🙂
Too much, $480 parts/labor/alignment for 1 lower control arm. I am gonna start learning how to work on my own car. Lol. :DI used flash in the pics to see all details.
We made it guys! Finally the recognition this car deserves! I feel like my car is a good investment now. :D1999 Eclipse GSX sells for $40K!

Ok, so the quote was for 4 lower arms and alignment, I am just gonna have them do the one with the cracked boot for now. Thanks everyone for the answers. 👍
Ok, so someone replaced 1 or 2 of the original straight fronts, and the curved fronts I had done with MOOG replacements. Also, if I replace them with aftermarket is there any good or recommended arms that have seperate replaceable ball joints?
Cracked boot here? That will make it knock?I think one side and not the other has a grease fitting? I don't know why that would be the case tho... I thought it was some kind of bolt. 🙃
It seems this is making the clunking sound when I turn or slow down sometimes. Is this actually a grease fitting? Anything else gonna be a problem?I think it's an illusion because there is a thin line of metal that goes down the side of the fork. I will have to inspect it tho.Can I...
I was too, I called them up and asked if it was discontinued and they told me it's just special order, they have to make them, so a 90 day wait from Japan. He said price going up again in July. :(
Yeah, I tried that but Mitsubishi said my car was one that wasn't affected and denied the service, I am running MOOG lower arms, I think one on each side was replaced, so maybe the others are original. 🤔Is there 2 lower front control arms?
So as far as I can tell this car has 2 lower ball joints on each side, it seems 1 on the passenger side can go up and down but not side to side. Mechanic was Midas.
I have owned the car for 10 years now doing my maintenance. I had all the belts done with water pump at 60K, hoses being checked now, fluids being done now, coolant was done, already did my lower control arms once, brakes checked still some life. The car was inspected when I bought it and all...
So I was driving my car to work and noticed a knocking sound from the passenger side wheel well. Parked and got out to look, one of the lower contol arm ball joint boots is collapsed and has the bolt poking through. Do these cars have 2 lower ball joints on each side? I was told the car doesn't...
I have someone near me that has owned 7 Eclipse 2Gs since they came out and has striped them to the frame, so I would be needing his help for disassebly and re-assembly. A lot of cost/time can be saved by acid dipping and not grinding the rust off with crazy man hours.
Ok, so no go. Thanks for answering my questions.A couple more if you don't mind, I have the stock 17" GSX 5 spoke wheels and noticed wheel weight clips on them, does that mean my rims are bent? 1 on each rim. Thanks for your reply. 👍Apparently +22 clears by 1/8", +15 should have a bit...
I am looking at getting the NX widebody molded with the Veilside body kit.So even though the car has a 2"+ gap I will hit the fender rim? What about rolling the rear fenders?
So I have a stock 2G Eclipse GSX, I am in need of new tires so I wanted to change wheels at the same time if possible. The car is stock ride height, I am looking at 18x10.5 +15 offset wheels and 18/275/35 tires, it looks like the driver side front wheel well liner would rub, where else would I...
