I want a nice daily setup, I currently have a small 16g with 3" turbo back including the housing; would replacing stock 2g manifold be beneficial or the gain is not that much to make a difference? I do plan on in the future to maybe go big 16g or 20g.
Chan: do see any problem here Ted?
Ted: no
Chan: we don't have any engines Ted, no engines!!!
Chan: a couple of 4G63's would pull in a real premium 1 week before race wars huh.
Ted: yeah they would.
I was just wondering does anyone know if there will be BlackFriday deals on DSM related parts and if so what. I think I remember extremepsi doing something last year and if you vendor's read this I really hope you guys do something because I've have my eyes on a few things and a deal with...
Just watched the final build episode and the car is sick. Would I have done some things differently, sure, but its not my build. I'm just happy a DSM is getting some mainstream attention.
I have mixed feelings on it but want to see if that's the finished look for it or is there something else to come. They did say they cut the trunks floor out for a reason.
@sirnot like I said before, I am unfamiliar with 420a models and the options they came with, but out of curiosity why would the gs disc be a better option then the gst?
Like it said it's been a very long time since I did my swap but if memory serves me right the GST and GSX brake were different than my GS spyder, both front and rear(not sure if 420a gs had different options). My gs came single piston front and drum rear and the gst swap I did was dual piston...
I like @DogWhistle idea, but if that doesn't work just try to fix it. Ever watch trotl on YouTube, they cut the inside of the truck out, and could give you some ideas.
I love how he was super thorough with putting the engine together. It has already started going on me but then again I always get a little excited when I see a dsm on something somewhat mainstream. I wish Devin Niemela would build a dsm, although I love his evo builds I'm ready for a dsm.
It definitely hurts watching them cut it up but at least they are going things the right way and not some janky hack job. Me personally I always prefer a tasteful clean oem type took, but for some reason I kinda like this build.
Anyone else been watching the throtl episodes on there version of Paul Walker's eclipse? Not only is it very interesting and bad ass to watch this car come to life but its also got the :hmm: about my own build.
I think what the op is saying is what's the best set up for $800 or less. We get so many of these post where ppl say if you don't spend this much it's crap, the $800 set up sucks compared to the $1200 set but $1200 set has nothing on the $2000 set. We all know you get what you pay for and I'm...
The transition going out on my is how I ended up doing the swap too. Just a suggestion before buying any go fast parts just make sure the swap is completely done and running right with all maintenance done. Also don't cut corners like I did because you'll pay for it in the long run. Well good...
Myth has it he's the only person that can translate a conversation between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. But yeah thank you for this, I spent most of my internet time on YouTube yesterday watching jafro.
I didn't think about the radiator at first so when I flush the coolant I will replace the hoses and the radiator. Probably pull apart the pump and just replace those gaskets to make sure everything is A-OK. Ball joints and seavees are only around six years or so but I will inspect them. For sure...
When I put the 6 bolt in there I replace timing belt, tensioner, MLS head gasket, arp head studs, new seals and gaskets on the water pump but that was 6 years ago. The suspension was replace around that time too but with it sitting so long that will be on the list again too. All the hose are...
I'm going to clean the cooling system when I get her running then replace all the hoses. Do you think the Amazon eBay silicone kits I've seen will be fine or try to find somewhere with the oem ones.
I think I'm going to make a list and tackle one thing at a time. I'm thinking this will help me in two ways.. One, it will allow me to focus one one thing at a time so I don't get overwhelmed and I can take my time to do it right. Two, help me keep track of what I have done and need to do. Thank...
Patience for sure. I cheaped out on headstuds on the first build and it cost me. Granted I didn't know any better at the time but I definitely learned one thing, if you have to do something do it right the first time and don't cut corners.
I could not agree more and you have me thinking about stuff I wasn´t before. It´s not a good feeling when your going for a cruse then something breaks and you have to get it towed home.
I´m currently trying to bring my dsm back to life and taking a step back on my mod list. The car is over 20 years old and at this point when I do get her running again I would like her to stay that way. To be honest at this point in my life I will take reliability over performance, so that being...
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't gas burn fairly quick jus put a little bit at a time in a metal bucket or something in your driveway away from everything and light it up. If your that worried about fire keep a garden hose near by.
After watching these videos am I the only one that would like to see the 4g63 in something light, like a crx or eg hatch. Yes I know boosting a b or k motor would be easier but 4g63 would be interesting.
Just get some wire drill bits, it will make your life so much easier and faster, wipe clean and hit it with caliper paint. Thats what I would do, good luck.
