My 2G 4g64 turbo conversion is throwing a P1105 CEL. It looks like the 97 GSX ECU I swapped into my 98 Spyder GS needs a Fuel Pressure Solenoid. What have all you other 4g64 turbo builders done with ECU pin 3 requiring a fuel pressure solenoid? Thanks.
Its getting too cold to work in the garage and I'm heading indoors. I'm going to play with my 3D scanner and see if I can replicate some needed/rare plastic parts. Shoot me your ideas on what to scan and I'll see what kind of success I have. Here are my ideas:
- Screw cover for the door panel...
Hey August578, one last question, where did you connect the bypass valve vacuum line to? We don't have a dedicated port on the 4g64 intake. Did you tee off the FPR or the solenoid valve? I have a spare 'P' port from the 4g63t throttle body I swapped in - but I read that it might not work.
Thanks Derish. My 4g64 intake doesn't have as many ports as the turbo intake. I was going to put a Tee on the Solenoid Valve line or the FPR. However, I thought, if I have a spare 'P' on the throttle body, it might work.
I am almost done my 4g64 turbo conversion. That last thing I need to do (other than the downpipe to the exhaust) is connect the bypass valve host to the intake. I used the 4g63t throttle body. Can I connect the hose to the 'P' port? It's currently unused and capped. If not there, do I need...
In case this helps anyone, this is what I did. It seems to work. Wire in a wastegate solenoid and run the red-yellow wire on pin 1 to pin 11 on the ECU. Then tap the red wire on the MAF for the red wire on pin 2 of the wastegate solenoid. I confirmed the wiring using the circuit diagram and on...
Just in case you wanted to get rid of that CEL, this is what I did. It seems to work. Wire in a wastegate solenoid and run the red-yellow wire on pin 1 to pin 11 on the ECU. Then tap the red wire on the MAF for the red wire on pin 2 of the wastegate solenoid. I confirmed the wiring using the...
Hey August578, your build is pretty much the same thing I'm trying to do. Same model and year Spyder and same 97 GST ECU. Your tip on the Chevy swivelling thermostat housing was perfect. I've compared my GSX harness with the 4g64 harness. As best as I can tell, all I need is the knock sensor...
What did you 4g64 turbo folks do with the boost control/wastegate actuator solenoid? I haven't read this mentioned in anyone's build. Unless you did a harness swap, I'm assuming you had to add it onto the harness in addition to the knock sensor.I've read that some have deleted the solenoid...
For those of you who turbo'ed your 4g64, did you change your lower rad hose for clearance?I'm trying to test fit all the OEM components from a GSX and I can't see how I'm supposed to get by the lower rad hose.I should mention that I did the AWD conversion on it as well
Rather than just vent the line, I took the old evap hoses from my fwd tank and modified the evap hose bracket to accommodate a different charcoal canister I picked up off Amazon. I extended the hoses and the solenoid to the right rear corner and mounted it to the frame.
In case this helps someone else in the future, my problem was that I connected the line circled in red back to the engine bay/intake. It's supposed to go to a charcoal canister. Most AWD conversions leave it disconnected/vented.
My cat is off, and I bypassed the fuel pump module. The problem still exists. I think it's the fuel tank pressure. I removed the cap and there was some pressure relief. After that, the car seems to run fine. I'm going to look at how I plumbed the fuel tank line coming out of the safety...
Thanks for the responses. I've got a straight pipe to replace the cat and see if that's part of the issue.Regarding the fuel pump module, should I have replaced the fuel pump relay when I put in the AWD fuel pump? I'm still running the stock fuel pump and relay from the Spyder GS 4G64 with...
I've got a 1998 Eclipse Spyder GS and I've done an AWD conversion on it. This has been on my bucket list to do since I first saw a 2G Eclipse Spyder over 20 years ago in Cali. They never sold the Eclipse or the Spyder up here in Canada in the 90s.I've kept the 4G64 non-turboed for now. I'll...
In case anyone has misplaced their clutch alignment tool and can't find one locally, I created this one for 3D printing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4287359It works perfectly.
Thanks. I really appreciate it. But, where does the Clutch Pedal Return Spring (#3) and the Brake Pedal Return Spring (#1) connect to under the dashboard?
I took my pedal assemblies off my 98 Eclipse to remove the rust and repaint them. However, I can't remember where the clutch and brake pedal return springs connect to? Can someone tell me where to connect them to or better yet take a picture? Thanks.
