yes the water pump started squeaking whenever I spun a bearing. But I don't know if they are related at all. The bearing on the crankshaft was just weak and then when I turned my boost up to 20psi on my hx40 I think that finished it off. I wasn't to lean, there wasn't any knock. I wasn't beating...
I was taking accessory belts off the next day , not 10pm at night but I figured I could post and see what other people’s opinions are before I tore into it. So I knew what to look for
Correct, I dropped the oil pan and found brass shavings in it... the water pump must have been what the squeaking was but it was still working and pumping coolant.
im thinking I might have jumped timing... And maybe bent the valves. Ive already done the timing 3 times on this since owning it and at this point im really frustrated with it but would like to hear what anyone else might think it is and if there are any reliable/good shops anyone knows about...
My 1995 Gsx started making this awful sound after pushing 18psi on my brand new hx40. It gets worse the louder it revs and the knocking is accompanied by a terrible screeching sound from the valve cover it sounds like. I have a data log and video to go with it. I have no idea what this sound is...
Okay that’s what it’s been sitting at I hope it was a bad ground or something and hopefully I got it cleaned up because there was a couple questionable grounds that I found on the firewall
I’ll check all 7 wires and make sure they are okay , battery voltage sits at 14.3 and my ECU is brand new just got it from ecmlink a month ago and it had this problem with the last ECU as well.
I’ll check the voltage now but I’m pretty confident it’s always over 14v but I have another coil pack I can try , and my spark plugs and coil wires are both brand new. The weird thing is the last 2 Ptu didn’t work after , they completely just stopped working all together. This one just stopped...
So I’ve went through 3 ptu’s and I’m still not sure why. After the first two I moved the location of it to under where the battery was. This time it gave me the random cylinder misfire code and started limping on two cylinders , I shut it off and turned it back on and it was fine , just cleaned...
I have a 1995 eclipse Gsx and as I was doing the battery relocation I unplugged the two White Main power wires from the fuse box (in the picture below) One of them has a small wire (white with red) connected to the one of the main power wires but I can’t remember which spot the main power wire...
I moved these wires before the winter and I forget what they go to, I looked in the ecu pinout diagrams to try to match the colors with the wires but I can’t figure out what they go to, my guess was egr but I wanna be sure
I’m not sure how much this matters but I just wanna treat this new Holset right so I measured the inner diameter of the oil feed fitting and I wanna know if it’s right . The one end is 5mm inner diameter and the other is 4mm which comes out to just about the size of the inner diameter of a -3an...
I am missing the lower flywheel cover and I’m gonna buy the replacement off of stm but I can’t find the hardware and I don’t have it so I have no idea what size it is supposed to be , anybody have an idea ?
Yeah I will give that a try. Im not gonna be cheap when it comes to my ecu I just want one that is in good condition and maybe with speed density for around 700$. But ill keep looking, thanks!
That is what I had and I never messed with it and Something was leaking inside it and fried it and I’m pretty sure I lost the tune on it anyways so instead of getting it repaired I was gonna go with something more user friendly since I’ve really only had little experience with tuning. But it...
It’s about time for me to upgrade to something That will make my life a hell of a lot easier. I’m sorry if I posted this is the wrong forum but I have searched high and low and cannot find a ecu with link anywhere, I was thinking about sending my 1997 ecu in but I’m not sure if it’s from a gst...
The silver threads on the left are the right size , the bronze one on the right has the right -4an fitting and the same outer diameter on it but just wrong thread pitch
So I have a -4an oil feed line , I just need a link to the right fitting to go from a -4an into the holset feed, I have one currently and it’s the right size just wrong thread pitch and I cant find the thread pitch anywhere, even on holset’s website.
And the hold downs on the turbo currently looked skinner and oddly shaped compared to the 6 bolt hold downs so I just wanted to confirm that it’s the right housing for it
I am putting an hx35 into my car and I’ve been looking at the BEP housing but the one on map performance has 6 bolt holes , and the turbo I’m looking at buying only has four bolts on the exhaust housing and I’m wondering what housing I have to use to still have the Dsm style outlet
That fp zero set up sounds like a dream but probably costs a fortune and the hta 68 v1 or v2 do they both bolt up or what ? The last thing I want to do is have to fabricate somethingYeah agreed I didn’t know it was an eBay turbo I wanted to get more info on it and I don’t plan on using it anymore
Okay I’ll let you guys know , I’m just having such a hard time finding any genuine turbos that aren’t rebuilt with eBay part or aren’t eBay turbos , I know I shouldn’t buy anything that says turbo charger on it but I fell for this one because I saw t34 and thought it was legit , any sites you...
Okay well I only spent 60$ on it and i thought it was real because beside the model it said t34 and I was researching t34 and it said that it’s out of a Ford cosworth rs, but okay my power goal is 400hp and I’m at 280 with my tune and current setup but I’m not gonna drive it untill it’s ready to...
I just got a t34 and it’s in good shape with no shaft play. Only problem I’m having is finding the best way to mount it in my car, I need an open t3 manifold but they all have external wastegate mounts on them and this turbo is internally wastegated , second I won’t be able to use the original 4...
thank you so much I found it was one of the pins inside the transistor itself , i tried several different ones and they didn’t work but they were from a junkyard so actually taking the time to look at the original one I found one of the pins was crooked and backed out, no idea how it happened...
Terminals 2 on cps and 1 on the cas both read 0.01v but the other terminals are within spec, both have a black wire coming out of the back into the harness
Is theSorry I’m bad with wiring can you explain the diagram to me somewhat, and what I can replace to fix it all or how to trace the wires physically to tell if they came disconnected from somewhere or are damaged ? Like where they connect to start and go through the firewall, if you know and...
