I know nothing about 1g cars so I cannot say forsure. As far as I know you can remove the TCU and leave the harness in the car with no troubles. On a 2G car the manual and auto ECU are the same.
The firewall is still stamped for the cluch peddle assembly however it is not punched all the way though. You have to get in there and knock the stamping out and grind the hole to accept the clutch master cylinder.
Have a look at this I found it going though my latest edition of truckin magazine find the info here on this site its very interesting!http://www.ststurbo.com/
Thats your MAP sensor it is required to run properly, although not completly familiar with its function its a requirement. The MPDI sensor you can omit if you wish to put up with the CEL from the ECU.I just leave the MPDI installed but not hooked to vac and have it zip tied down under my...
To hook mine up I used a spark plug boot. The end that goes to the coil pack. Just ziptie one end to the sensor and the smaller end insert hose and ziptie again. Been 2 years now no problems.:thumb:
Non intercooled eh? I see power to be had in that baby I have been playing with diesel for years now that engine there is well capible of 400 HP daily driver but the torque will be out of this world! My current diesel setup is running 580 rwhp and just over 1100 lbs of torque.
What about some of the hidden air systems etc that people use when modifying the older classics? I know I have seen while looking around but I cannot remember where now systems that fit under your dash and are self contained that people run in those mod vechilces.Something like this...
Has anyone ever seen themselves or heard of anyone doing aftermarket air on a Talon. Im thinking of doing something with an electric driven pump but was wondering if it had been done.
Thanks that does look like a much better design you already have my attention to bad I have the $$ in these but I'll run em till they drive me crazy then switch. I did fix the wiring smashing problem though with a little help from the freakin plasma cutter. I only did them because its not a...
I have SOME 2G parts kicking around if your in desperate need but I would prefer to hold onto them. I just did a rear bearing myself. Getting it out wasn't to bad just used a big puller and a little heat. The bearing its self is seperate from the hub it requires a press to remove the 2 parts...
My Magnus SMIM definately gave my car more top end pull. Then the cams was another gain ontop of that I did it in stages mani first then cams. The manifold does add quite a bit of mid and top though.
I swapped mine and haven't looked back I hated my auto (yes it was modded) Each their own I guess to me its a sports car and I want to shift it where ever I want.
My doors fit as good as factory when closed they are perfect in that sense. My saying they are alright is that the doors hang or rise depending oh heat so sometimes they hit the strikers and you have to hold up on them another time they will be to high you have to hold down on them. This is...
I have the exact same leak in my 6bolt so if you do find out what is causing it pass on the info! I think its the pump cover or the crank seals as well the dye did nothing for me it just keeps seeping I don't loose much of anything and it doesn't get on my TB.
Someone who hasn't tried this will probably tell you they don't work but I have run everything on my 6bolt a 97 coil a 95 coil and currently a 90 coil. I got my working 90 coil from the junk yard for 30 bucks. New the dealer wanted something like 400 if I remember right.
Tell me something if you take it out and just stand on it with minimal warmup does it still do it? Or does it only do it once its warmed up? Mine did the same exact thing when the coils were bad. I was also rich. When I changed the coils out and leaned my car out a touch I was good to go...
I just bought a blitz style body kit from extreme dimensions its not the best fitting kit at all there is alot of glass work to be done to make it fit right. This is not being molded just attached. I would personally buy a urethane kit in a heartbeat having experience with this now the...
umm I did it about 2 years ago it involves grounding an ECU pin but I cannot remember which one. I can't think of where I found the info at all. I beleive its pin #7 you can see the diagrams here http://vfaq.com/index-main.html
First off congrats on the find. Secondly I think the before mentioned points of possible problems maybe a little deeper then the acutal problem may be. You are going to have to trouble shoot the car and diagnose it but I wouldn't just yet get into playing with your CAS etc. Start #1 by doing...
Mine is hand made by me ;) from the turbo back. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1624476#post1624476 check out that link for pics on the downpipe I made. It goes from there to a flex section then to my 3" blitz highflow cat and off to the blitz muffler only 1 bend after the cat...
Im just noticing the "upgraded" BOV has no flange its only a hose type so it won't work with any of the aftermarket hard piping you will always need an adaptor. Next thing is there is no O2sensor housing. So you are going to have to make one up youself or pay someone, mine with me doing the...
As stated above by my fellow wiseman:thumb: there are 2 different rads. An external trans cooler is a common upgrade with automatic transmissions and your car will actually run cooler by not having to cool that trans fluid as well as the coolant. I use my trans cooler ports on my rad as my...
I have the POT MOD done to my car with no problems what so ever and no RM its just one of those things I think it works for some and some it doesn't. We did the mod and retuned my car accordingly for it. It was a bit rich after doing the mod. There really isn't anything major for swapping...
Its ultimately your choice, I cannot make up your mind for you only give you my experiences with the different engines. Myself personally with my feelings is that I would never use a 7 bolt engine to do a build up. If its in the car and running beat the crap out of it for all its worth. If it...
You can use your intake mani but the ports aren't matched you can get a 1g cheap online check the classifieds I have one to if your interested. You want to use your exhaust manifold, turbo, alternator, crank pulley, power steering, fuel rail, injectors, valve cover. You will need a 6bolt oil pan...
You can look at it this way as well if you wish. Both 6 and 7 bolt motors have been proven to make decent power on stock internals that debate is pretty well sqwashed. 99%of the guys on here will never need a built motor.Secondly look at it like I did, there is a possibility of CW in any...
I have the turbonetics manifold be prepared to port it to match everything and be prepared to port their turbo's too. Does work like a champ though. Write up I did when doing the install. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1624476#post1624476
I misread the original post as an auto to manual swap. Not an auto to manual swap plus adding AWD. I do apologize to joosdawg because I jumped the gun.It is a conciderable amount of work to swap a FWD to an AWD car you can do it but it is not adviseable unless you have alot of time and...
I dunno on the wire colors and its burried in my car under the intake manifold so unless I am working on it again I cannot tell you. And I don't want to go digging for it.The clutch does not have to be depressed in my car to start it I was thinking of using the switch on top of the peddle...
This is pretty easy guys. The large plug that was plugged into the linkage ontop of your auto trans is what is causing the problem of the no start unless you screwed something else up. The picture of the switch is found here and the 2 outside wires are jumped ya its blurry but you get the...
